The location, near the tube and grocery stores, was so convenient for our daily forays into the city. The aoartment was very comfortable, with fresh fruit, beverages in the fridge, and a well stocked kitchen. The host, Ricky, was responsive and helpful.

Unsafe tub

It wasn’t as nice as I expected but the location was good. The big issue was the deep tub with no “non slip” mat on inside or outside. One of the guests fell and suffered significant injuries. There was no way we could stay. We contacted the host and he said we could checkout and get reimbursed. We returned the key the next day and made other/safer arrangements. Then, the host advised that we could not cancel and there would be no reimbursement. Very disappointed in the poor customer care. It’s soured me to future VRBO rentals because if this happened in a hotel I’m sure we wouldn’t have to fight for fair treatment. I continue to work to get reimbursed and hopefully all will be fairly handled.

Well equipped apartment in quiet, excessive location

This was a great place for me, my husband and our adult kid to stay in London for several nights at the end of March. Check in and out were easy and seamless, we really appreciated being able to check in a bit earlier than check-in time. Ricky had kindly laid in some basic supplies so we did not need to buy some of the basics for just a few days. The apartment is a bit cluttered with mismatched pieces of furniture, fans, etc., but there is space to move around and store one’s stuff. Communication was good, though sometimes took a day or two to get an answer leading up to our stay. Replies were always helpful and courteous.Thanks for the use of the apartment!

Great location and quiet! Perfect place to rest!

The location near earls court underground station was perfect. The apartment was quiet which is important when coping with jet lag. The beds are comfortable. The furnishings and decor are very basic. But the kitchen functions well. Overall, it was not a fancy apartment but it met our needs well. I would come again. Thank you.

Has limitations

Listing has wrong address; correct one is sent 24hr ahead. The flat is a compact 2BR with a small combination living-dining area. It worked well for us as a couple, would easily fit family of 4. However for more you would have to use mattress in the limited living area which already has a couch & only 1 chair. No chairs in bedrooms. We used half of dining table for 2 laptops. Dining chairs are not as pictured; instead are 4 vinyl covered chairs with seats that sag, needing pillows to boost up. Dining table has bench on one side. The 7 small boards for use at or around the table is really quite clever. Wifi is good. Kitchen is adequate but limited:dish cabinet has total of 7 dinner plates, 6 bowls, pot pourrie of cups & glasses. Serving 6-7 would require washing after single use. Many bath & hand towels, no face cloths; must bring your own. Best feature of rental is location: super close to tube stations, groceries & pharmacies. Apt is secure; 10 steps up after entry door which is 4 steps above street. Owner supplied bowl of fruit & eclectic collection of spices & other cooking basics. Also laundry and dishwasher soaps. Bathroom sinks have separate hot & cold taps so unless you close off & fill sink, must choose VERY hot or only cold. The landlord has given warning of this in apt manual.The changing hot/warm stream of heated water in shower (mentioned in another review) is artifact of building plumbing, not anything the landlord can change nor serious enough to complain about.

London visit

Location is great. Lots of little restaurants and close proximity to underground. A few suggestions: for four people, there is a need for adequate wine glasses, bowls, comfortable seating. Dining table is nice for games. Two bathrooms and two bedrooms were great. Directions to pick up key could be simplified for easier access. Upgrades on furniture would improve overall quality of the experience. Owner did not receive my communication via text, but we think that may have been a VRBO problem. VRBO map is not accurate. We adjusted, but that was confusing.

Great place

Ricky’s place is a great place to stay, it is cozy, comfortable very clean and furnished with everything one needs for a home away from home. Ricky gave us detailed instructions which made it easy to find the flat and how to get in once inside the guest book was another detailed piece which helped us find restaurants, instructions for how to use the stove, washing machine, recycling.and so on. The beds were clean and comfortable one of the bedroom had a private bathroom. The flat and the neighborhood was quiete and very safe, The Earl underground was a 5 minutes away and took us every where we wanted to go including Heathrow. I recommend Ricky’s place and will return the next time I am in London

Great location and very nice apartment

Great spot from which to explore London. This apartment is a great value in a good location. It is clean, week kept place and comfortably housed our family of 5 for a week. It does not have “high-end” finishes/furnishings, but at close to half the price of those that do, it’s a great value for those, like us, who are spending most of the time out and about in the city. Ricky was a very responsive and helpful host when we needed.

Spacious and Close to the Tube

My family of six were all very comfortable in this charming London flat. We found the location perfect- on a quintessential quiet column-lined British neighborhood, yet steps away from the bustling Tube station, shops and grocery stores. We ate several meals from the functional kitchen, at the spacious dining table. The flat was clean with plenty of room for our suitcases and hanging closet space. We appreciated the snacks after a long travel day. This was the perfect home base to see London. Highly recommend it! Just keep in mind that it is a quiet building, so be respectful to the neighbors 😀

Incredible location in a residential area

The absolute best aspect of this apartment is the location - in the heart of south Kensington, minutes from a tube station, walkable to museums & restaurants. Ricky was a great host, very quick communication. The place was also incredibly clean and we appreciated some home-like amenities you don't always find in European apartments like a washer/dryer, full kitchen, and two bathrooms. We had 4 adults + 3 kids and by the end of the week, we felt a a little cramped - I would say this apartment is perfect for two couples or one family. Also note that it's located in a residential apartment building so there may be maintenance or other normal apartment things (maintenance had to come in while we were staying there to check a leak for example) so if you're looking for a more "hotel" stay, this is more homey and lived-in which was great for us with kids. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Disappointing

The "by 26 Courtfield Gardens" title is misleading. This apartment isn't at 26... only after much rambling in an email was the real address disclosed. The owner spends way too much time and energy providing "don't do this, don't do that" rules for the customer. They're in the emails, in a (lame) binder in the apartment, and even written on the shower curtain! The apartment was supposed to have Futons - there were NONE! Instead, there were some twin mattresses leaning against walls. In the kitchen, there were dishes with food stuck on them. The place had ugly furnishings and nothing went together. The pieces in the place were old and beat up. The leather couch, which was a focal point in the photo on the VRBO website, was the only decent thing in the entire unit. Unfortunately, there was an ugly slip cover over it that didn't even fit. This place was filled with a bunch of unwanted crap that you might see leftover after a garage sale has been held. The mattresses were old and overused, with big dents where people had lain. The sheets were cheap, scratchy, with stains. The bath towels were also well past their prime, thin and scratchy, certainly nothing I would offer guests, and past the point where they would become car washing towels. In both bathrooms, the water in the shower pulsed hot and cold; it wasn't a constant temperature. And both sinks had separate hot and cold faucets, which meant choosing between scalding hot water, and frigid cold water.

Lovely flat, convenient location

This 2 BR 2 BA flat is in a very convenient location, close to supermarkets, restaurants, transportation, etc. We really liked that it had 2 bathrooms. The lounge can be set up as a 3rd place to sleep, and has a door that can be closed. There is a short flight of stairs into the building, and another short flight to the flat (lift does not go there). Host is very responsive. Flat was very clean, kitchen is set up with most everything you need, and includes a dishwasher. Washer/dryer is a combo unit. We would definitely stay here again!

Property was lovely and quiet in an excellent location near earls Court station. Great for our arrival from Heathrow and travelling to Kensington Gardens and harrods and Albert hall. Lovely to have some unexpected kitchen supplies and brewed coffee with fresh milk. Maybe that was in the description but I was so relieved to just make a coffee after 30 hours travelling.

Great Location near Earls Court Underground station

This met or exceeded our expectations. We found good places nearby to eat and to shop for groceries. With three runners in the family, we loved being so close to Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace.

Cozy flat, great location!

My 72 yo mom and I stayed at Ricky’s flat. The location was great & we felt very safe. The flat is a 1st floor flat with just a few steps, which was perfect for us. As an American, we had no idea how to use the oven, but I looked up the make and model online and it was just fine :) Everything was clean and we had all the supplies we could need for the stay. The portable air conditioner was great because we stayed during a bit of a heatwave. I would say this was a perfect location because the Earl’s court station was just a 5 minute walk away and the District and Piccadilly lines running from there got us everywhere we needed to go! A large Sainsbury’s grocery store was in one direction and Co-op and M&S Foodhall was near the tube station so we had quick easy options to grab anything we could need after long days of sightseeing. All communication with Ricky before our stay was fantastic, he answered quickly and made sure our arrival was smooth. If we come back to London, I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely apartment close to trains

This is a lovely apartment in a nice neighborhood and close to public transportation and local restaurants. It is an easy walk to Kensington gardens and Royal Albert Hall. Ricky responded quickly when we could not locate keys in the designated location. Seems the cleaner did not leave them in promised spot. Once we found a phone number for Ricky, response came quickly and we were able to get into apt. The fridge was stocked with s number of beverages which was nice. Overall it was a pleasant stay as we toured London area.
