Stayed at Dukes Retreat over the weekend! Booked a Deluxe room and stayed for two days! Beautiful views from the Deluxe rooms, only book these rooms, brilliant views of the mountains from the tile to ceiling windows ! They should just have a wall mounted TV which can be moved when wanting to watch TV from the bed, as the angle gets a bit difficult to watch! Bathrooms are big and one gets a view of the mountains from there too thanks to the glass in between. In room dining good is absolutely brilliant, may be a bit on higher side for the pocket, but worth it! Special occasions, definitely come down to dukes retreat. The gardening lady keeps loitering around cleaning the garden, so one cannot literally open up windows and lay down on the bed and enjoy the views! 🤣 The staff is ever smiling, friendly and welcoming! Sudarshan at welcome desk is one helpful person and so is Sakharam the bell boy. Wonderful stay, would want to come back in Monsoons to experience waterfalls from the windows!
At first this was not our type of resort, when we checked in thought not to write anything . But by evening my decision changed. We had good evening with a small walk within the property, good tasty buffet and live keyboard playing old Bollywood melodies... sitting in dark patio enjoying the dark night sky. Resort has beautiful , uninterrupted view from its restaurants . In Monsoon it must be very scenic. We stayed in cottage and it is quiet big to accommodate us with a teenage son. Cottage is well maintained, clean and up to date . It has a outdoor shower too. No complain about the hospitality, staff were smiling , polite and willing help. I must mention one guy named Shyam (restaurant ) here. This is biggest plus mark as far as we are concerned . They gave enough Aquasure drinking water, provided turndown service in the evening too. They have Gym,spa & some outdoor games too.
i visited Duke in the month of October. I had book cottage. View is breath taking and service is good. Disappointment no bath tube ever in cottage. As an advise don't book cottage. Instead of cottage you can book room because most of the room are mountain facing. Breakfast is good. Property location is excellent. Owner of property should put more effort and it will be 5 star hotel
Basics are in place. Good for a break. F&B services could be better. View from rooms is lovely. Might be quite good during the rains. Sadly, the Pool shuts too early at 7pm. No drinks allowed at poolside.
I visited the property on 10/3/2018. In the evening group of IDBI bank I think, were there and for them entire gallery from where you can see express way was kept closed for other guests for entire evening. This couse great inconvenience for us. No staff made any arrangements for other guests. This is unacceptable n as we also paid for all this. This force us to spend a time either in room or in garden which is for children. That is why entire holiday was ruin.
We were here for a family function. The venue was excellent and the ambience was amazing. Wide spreads of buffet and tasty food. Staff was nice. Only drawback is venue is far from rooms. If you come want come to room for anything, you get tired as it's up n down
My first visit to Dukes was aIlmost 20 years back. Been there 4 times since. The rooms have been re-furbished since my last stay. One definitely has to stay in a room with a valley view. That's part of the charm. The food served is really good. Lunch and breakfast were served in the Dutchess. If one gets a table by the window, its a fantastic view. Overall a good stay. Was there for an offsite, so didn't really get to use the spa, pool and other facilities.
Had always heard about this place, but was fortunate to visit it finally. Very accessible and wouldn't take long before you reach the hotel. An old property but very well maintained. Some Rooms have a breathtaking view of the valley! Couple of restaurants - Dutchess and Panorama Cafe are good and serve the purpose. Dutchess again has a breathtaking view, so while you enjoy your meal, you enjoy the view! Panorama Cafe is next to the pool. Pool size is large and is clean. Perfect venue for leisure, business, family, friends, etc. All in all, if you are visiting Lonavala or Khandala, a must stay!
The only positive about this place is that it is very easy to get to from the pune - Bombay highway. The property is overlooking the highway, and is probably not the sight one may wanna see whilst in this town. Property is quite vast and it would've been a wonderful place in it's hayday. However, with so many new resorts and vacation bungalows available in lonavala/khandala these days.....This resort is definitely not worth the tariff it demands. The rooms are dated and not properly maintained. I mean they r big in size and are well equipped, but there is ceiling mold in bathroom, fixtures are old with rust in some places . They do not even properly provide required toilleteries. No toothpaste and brush (need to pay extra for those), no razor and shaving gel/foam (also paid basis)..... shampoo and body soap is put in a pump (not good quality at all). To top it all, non of this rooms have a good view. They all face the highway ......Big drawback. Food is alright. The pool too isn't something to write home about. Calling it a retreat maybe too far stretched. Come here only if u can't find a room elsewhere or if the tariff is reasonable.
The rooms absolutely does not match the pics online. I booked the executive room and it is nothing as per the details mentioned online. No room slippers, no mini bar, no valley view, the pics are away from the reality. For everything we need to request, Its an overhyped resort. Not worth 10k for a night.
