We stayed for 1 night at the executive room over the weekend. Would rate my stay as just about okay. Here are the pros and cons: Cons: 1. The resort could be maintained better as most of its common areas need some major refurbishment. The game room has been badly maintained. The garden area was smelly and again in a very bad shape. Most of the activities which the hotel brochure mentioned have been discontinued/ cancelled at the last moment due to some reason or the other. The floor everywhere was wet and messy due to rain water. The only good part was the swimming pool which is clean and huge. 2. Food- definitely needs to improve-both quality and taste wise. While the breakfast had good variety, there was no taste at all in any of the items. Very disappointed. 3. The check-out time is 10 am. It is way too early as most resorts allow a 12 pm check-out. Moreover, they do not entertain late check-out requests beyond max 1 hour even when the weekend rush is aready over and there is no immediate occupancy. Pros: 1. The room had partial mountain view. It was in a decent condition and had all the necessary amenities. 2. The hotel acoomodated our request for a room on a higher floor and even extended a sweet gesture of arranging a cake for my mother as a special welcome. The staff at the hotel is extremely warm and welcoming 3. They have a separate open air common seating area from where the view of the mountains is excellent. You can relax and enjoy some evening snacks here as you relish the view. If the resort can do something about renovating their premises and improving their food, it would be one of the best places to consider but as of now, would not really recommend a visit to anyone who is looking for a great resort experience.
Excellent place Had a wonderful time The view from the room was too good Would love to go again Best place in khandala Staff was very courteous Breakfast was very tasty Good spread.Rooms are nice and spacious.
Bit away from the centre and bit awkward to locate, if you are 1st time visitor to the geography. Its' in Khandala and not in Lonavala. Rooms are generally good but certainly not great. Although you don't have much choice in Lonavala and Khandala in this budget of $100+/-. Staff is generally cooperative, however, management of the hotel must be rigid, as most staff and most often comes back with more NO and Less YES, for your small, other than routine requirements (such as.. needing a scissors, asking to warm a milk packet or an extra towel etc...) Very rigid on checkout timings even on week days when apparently hotel doesn't seem to be occupied heavily. Swimming pool is well maintained. If you have forgotten an umbrella during a rainy day, hotel prefers to sell you one, instead of landing you one for a while. Wifi is generally good. Breakfast, is mostly Indian but good and nearly sumptuous. Beds and linen are good. Towels are not. House keeping takes too much of time, except checking minibar upon checkout.
Stayed here for only a day but it was a comfortable one. We stayed on the 3rd floor (room no.311 and 312) which offers a nice valley view. And if you are not content with the view from your room, you can always go to the deck area a floor above. It was good of the hotel to provide us the 3rd floor rooms as requested at the time of (advance) booking. Glad that they gave us interconnected rooms as well when we asked for it at the time of checking-in. The restaurant on the 3rd floor (The Dutchess) has an amazing view too, make sure to enjoy that during your breakfast.
Well what can I say..this is the best hotel to stay in Lonavala and khandala. You would be fooled by the entrance which would look shabby but once inside the hotel is brilliant. Let's start with the rooms and the view, what can I say the Deluxe room I booked overlooked the ghats it felt as if we just in the mountains..words are few to describe the view from the spacious room. Food is tasty only the service can be a bit quicker but no regrets it's a vacation. Only small glitch I noticed that they clean your room in the evening and if you are not present that would happen without your consent, Suggestion - ask for permission. Other than that had a magical stay with my family. A definite recommendation for the rainy season..with a cup of coffee/🍺 lazing on the couch and enjoying the serene view
dukes retreat! wow ! literally wow! bit expensive but the food and ambience and the facilites are super good god i wanna go back their! the complimentary breakfast was the best in town! the pool and snooker tables were great fun!
This property is old but still amongst the best in the Khandala/ Lonavala area. The location is perfect; above the expressway and overlooking the valley. The Deluxe rooms are just awesome for the price you pay. The sheer size of the room and the in-room amenities are worth every penny. The staff is attentive and courteous to all reasonable requests. The open air deck, the pool, the play areas and the lawns are well spaced out. The check in and check out process is hassle free. The breakfast spread and the taste is very good as well. We did not try the a la carte at any of their restaurant but I feel the prices are on the higher side for the same. We did however tried the dinner buffet and that's probably the only area I would recommend improvement in terms of managing the same. The food items were not refilled timely and some of them were cold by the last hour of the buffet. All in all, a very good experience and it surely makes into my recommendation list.
We recently had a short stay at the Dukes Retreat, Khandala. It's a average 4 start but excellent staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable. The management needs to look into room maintenance with leakage's in room and non functional telephones. The food spread is good but very expensive (alacarte) it is better to go for buffet. Only thing during dinner they have two very bad singers who sing very loudly over karaoke and are completely off sync.
Gud place nice n helpful staff... just a few complains. D staff in Bombay not very happening. Once d money was paid d tone changed. Our specifications were not sent to d property. We had early check in n late check out... dey checked us in after 4 even after seeing wit had 4 kids n 2 babies wit us. N we were asked to leave early on our check out day even after them giving us d rooms so late.
I am a Patron of this place whenever in Lonavala and the reason is wonderful location and Superb hospitality. I just have to make a call to their manager Vikas and we get the reservation done. The staff is so cordial that they even remember our food preferences(especially my 2 year old daughter). The positive vibes you get right from entering the hotel to the duration of the stay makes it worthwhile every time we visit the place and that is the reason we keep going back their. Highly recommended for all kinds of getaways.
