A small family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are spotless and large, beds are comfortable and all have a lovely terrace or balcony. We really looked forward to breakfast everyday which consisted of a choice of cereal and fresh fruit, home made yogurt, Sardinian cheeses and ham, everything you could want basically, but you have to taste the homemade cakes so leave room for them. Cooked eggs and bacon are also on offer. The gardens are immaculate and the pool is heated, we often had the whole pool area to ourselves as there are only 11 rooms. There is a bar where you can get drinks all day including coffee, tea and gorgeous milk shakes made with fresh fruit. The hotel serves dinner you don’t have to book for the homemade pasta dishes. If you want a more a la carte menu you need to order at breakfast. The food is excellent. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would love to return.
This is a wonderful family run hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel is immaculate. Rooms are spacious and decorated to a high standard. There is limited evening menu unless you pre-order food at breakfast. However, what is cooked is made fresh everyday and delicious. Cons-if you want to explore you need a car. The hotel ran us to the local town-but it is small. The nearby Beach is beautiful but a good 15 minute walk away and the 4 sun beds and 2 umbrellas cost nearly £50 a day! It was mainly Italian families so perhaps this was a “tourist” rate but worth speaking to the hotel about before you walk down. The staff are so helpful I am sure they would come with you and translate!! Or perhaps find some an umbrella for you.
Fantastic place, friendly and accommodating in every sense. We had a lovely stay and the hotel were great with giving us suggestions on where to eat and which beaches to visit. We would really recommend staying at this place if you want a quiet, friendly, clean and beautiful hotel. K & I
We stayed 3 nights at Fenicottero Rosa and were made very welcome. On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks and fresh pastries. We had a room on the ground floor with great (and quiet) air conditioning which we left on all night, as it was very hot. All rooms are junior suites and very spacious. The pool area is lovely and we never had a problem getting a sun bed. We ate at the restaurant twice, both times the food was very nice. We can recommend the roast suckling pig. There is a wide choice at breakfast and you can order eggs and bacon which are freshly prepared. The home made yoghurt is very tasty!
Beautiful place! The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Every morning I looked forward to the delicious breakfast and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place to everybody who's looking for a not too busy, relaxed and beautiful place to stay.
My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights and we loved it! It was quiet and peaceful. The drive to the beaches along the east coast wasn't too far away and there were several options to dine around the vicinity (Eg. San Teodoro). The room was spacious, neat and clean and there was wifi too! The owners were helpful and warm. They even recommended some restaurants to check out and helped us with the bookings given that we couldn't speak any Italian. Definitely worth checking out.
Cons_ you need a car to get about. Especially restaurants in the evening, but it is only a 5 minute drive to get to enough good places to eat. _ the evening menu is quite small _ the shower is lovely and powerful but a little small, so scrubbing sand from all the hidden areas becomes a challange. Pros- personal service excellent. They really will do/help in any way they can - rooms large, comfy, clean - only a few rooms so hotel always feels like a private villa - lovely, spacious, well kept pool area with plenty of room and beds - several covered areas you could sit and relax - good home cooked food. ONLY the 'specials' have to be pre-ordered at breakfast. There is a small menu of home cooked items available without notice - breakfast has an interesting selection and eggs cooked to order. Not the usual hot buffet but more than enough to satisfy They are a lovely family, running a good hotel, well done.
This small hotel is situated beside the road in Porto Taverna. It is too far to walk into Porto San Paolo from the hotel so you would need a car or a taxi for shops and restaurants. You can, however, walk to Porto Taverna beach from the hotel. The staff were helpful and obliging. Breakfasts were lovely with lots of choice including fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly baked pastries, cold meats and cheeses. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, though I feel sure the food would be very good, because you had to place your order at breakfast. Also the hedges outside the breakfast/dining area needed cutting at the time of our visit. They were half way up the windows so you couldn't see outside, therefore no view at all. The pool area is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean, however, you can hear when toilets are flushed in other rooms. You can leave your luggage in a secure area after checking out, and there is a shower room to freshen up before your onward journey.
we had a lovely time here. The hotel was exceptionally clean and proffesionally run. The pool was great and it was a good location for exploration and beaches. The service and the breakfast were great and they went far above and beyond to help make our holiday a success. small critiscism were that possibly curtains could be thicker or lights around pool muted.
After a week's stay in the north-east of the island, we'd booked the hotel in order to be closer to the airport for our departure. We had three nights Bed and Breakfast and by the end, wished we'd had more. The hotel is wonderful. We were greeted with a complimentary cool drink and tasty snack on our arrival. Our large room was spotless, bright and cool. A similarly sized private terrace with sun loungers, table and chairs was part of the deal. There is a pretty swimming pool with loungers and lots of shade nearby. A relaxed feeling prevails. The nearby road had no noise impact on either the room or the pool area. Admittedly, we were there after high season and both the hotel and nearby beaches were far from busy, but the hotel is small enough and coupled with the spacious, well tended gardens and pool, would never seem crowded. Plenty of shaded parking was available for our hire car and access to some great beaches and countryside was easy. Breakfasts were buffet style and included lots of fresh fruits, breads, meats and cheeses. All nicely presented and very tasty. We didn't try the evening meal as we ate out but the menu looked good. The staff were pleasant, friendly and discreet. All in all, I would recommend the Hotel Fenicottero Rosa highly and hope to return again.
