This hotel claims to be a 4 star, but its nowhere close. The rooms are old; carpets full of stains, the bathtub and sink are made out of plastic and the bathroom door hardly closes. Also, it does not provide a proper air conditioning in an area that easily reaches 30 degrees Celsius during summer. Furthermore the hotel seems to attract people that do not understand that they and their kids should not run and scream in the corridors at midnight. If you look for a hotel in or close to Orleans, do not choose this one.
Very convenient stopover for our trips to and from France. Quiet setting with space outside to relax. Good food. Helpful and welcoming staff...particularly the barmen on this visit. Don't like being at the end of a very long corridor. Hotel decor a little tired now but still a favourite.
On our way from CDG to SW France so a convenient stopover, about a two and half hour drive from CDG, after an overnight flight from North America. Not really close to anything so had something to eat in the hotel bar, which had a limited menu and even harder to find staff. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable and breakfast (not included) was OK. Frankly a little pricey, and have stayed at better Ibis hotels (part of the same chain but less expensive) Doubt if we would stay there again, as having now spent two weeks in France travelling, there is certainly better value to be had at other hotels.
Stayed at this Novotel at Easter with a group of classic car enthusiast. The room which we were allocated was clearly used previously by smokers. We asked for a different room. We had to wait in till one was found. The breakfast area was to small and each mornong there was a long wait for a table. The hot food was cold and we had to keep asking for dishe's to be replenished. Dinner in the evening was very poor and lacked imagination. Over the 3 evening dinners there was not one evening that we had a good meal all the meals were of a poor standard
Like the review below I was part of the 170 people group. The rooms were fine, clean and what you would expect of Novotel/ Accor with a mini fridge, bottled water and tea and coffee provided. Bathroom was clean and tidy and free WiFi was also available. Excellent parking also. It was the food in the evenings that was really unbelievably poor. In particular it was the main courses (desserts were standard but perfectly fine) The tuna steak with rice and drizzle of sauce was so dry it was difficult to swallow. Thankfully I am not vegetarian as I gather from others in the group who were it was even worse. The bar service was also bad and while staff were friendly they were totally overwhelmed and just lacked organisation in what they were doing. I would say the breakfast buffet was nice with hot and cold food and a fair amount of options. Overall despite knowing such a large group was coming they just seemed completely unprepared from a meal and bar perspective but the rooms and other parts of the venue were fine.
I was booked in as part of a group of 170 people.I also elected to book an extra evening privately. Check in was fine with pleasant staff. Room was standard Novotel/Accor fayre no surprises or particular defects but would benefit from a revamp. First evening meal was a la carte and was adequate,it was, after all my choice. Buffet breakfast again standard Accor fayre. However the group evening meal in the function room was quite frankly appalling! Given that the chef/kitchen knew they had 170 covers, they knew the times of service and even knew the specific dietry requirements i fail to see how they can come up with any defence! A lump of beef, rare in the middle unedible with a few peas and sliced carrots. The only reason it didnt get sent back was because the people on our table who had specified vegetarian had been given FISH!!!! which when refused meant ther was no other food for them and the kitchen was now having to prepare something 40 mins later a bowl with green salad with dressing arrived. The manageress was tackled about this problem and the answer was Fish is fine for vegetarians in France!!!! We were assured the next evening would be fine. Chicken leg with runny mashed potato. Sent mine back because the chicken was raw in the middle, red raw the second one was only slightly better i did not eat it only the potato. 8 covers on our table 3 vegetarian 5 chicken not properly cooked. 3rd night was Tuna Steak it was adequate but as with the inedible meals meagre at best. Over all very poor food, beyond poor...................unforgiveable. The bar was expensive and understaffed the one poor guy who was serving there was good but with 170 people totally overwhelmed. Sleep there but do not eat or drink there.50 euro a night place at best.
Good Novotel just situated off the motorway network. Very good well equipped rooms. Nice bar area and restaurant. Would recommend if your breaking up a journey. Plenty of secure parking. Helpful and informative staff
hotel has parking (convenient when you're arriving by car), and the restaurant is ok. Clean room, typical Novotel bathroom (with bath, not just a shower). Free wifi. Good sleeping comfort. Extra door to keep noise from the corridor out. Value for money
We used the hotel just after the New Year as an overnight break on our return home from the UK. Well situated a few minutes off the A10 south of Paris, with good sized plot, and enclosed parking. The hotel is a typical Novotel, more business than pleasure, but more than suitable for our purposes. It was clean, the rooms more than adequate, and comfortable, and the restaurant at the usual standard for the chain. Breakfast was a typical Novotel spread, and was more than acceptable. There was a business conference at the hotel during our stay, but we were not inconvenienced by it. However, the highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the staff, who excelled. Nothing was too much trouble, and their efforts really lifted the experience. Congratulations to the manager and his team for providing us with a very comfortable night, probably the best of a very large number of stays with Accor hotels. Our dog, who accompanied us, also had a great time, and adds her thanks and recommendation.
The first impression gained from the public area is that this is a modern funky hotel. Money has obviously been spent there. This impression is dispelled when the room was visited. It had all the charm and decorative comfort of a Premier Inn awaiting modernisation. The décor was ugly, blocky and tired. I couldn't get the shower to work, which you find out when in a hurry in the morning which is a real pain. The option of using a flannel is there, unfortunately a wash cloth was not provided. The dining experience (which was a bit of a Hobsons choice as there is nothing in the area except the University) was again uninspired. I had a flaccid soggy vegtale trt to start which was redeemed by the next course of grilled fish and potato pure and then hopes were dashed with a cheese selection which had no selection or any information on the cheese provided. The staff were Ok in terms of efficiency but not exactly warm. The price of the room was out of proportion to the standard provided. If it was Paris in the summer it was about right. For the middle of winter in the Orleans suburbs it was overpriced and not to be recommended. If you have to visit the University it s Ok but otherwise not worth a visit.
