On the plus side, the staff at Hotel Lev were professional and welcoming. I had a fabulous massage, though the facility was a bit wanting. Our room was adequate. The housekeepers failed to clean it during our stay, did not replenish the soap, and never provided facial tissue. My traveling companion dropped a piece of jewelry and, in looking for it, saw that the carpeting under the bed had not been cleaned in some time. Upon departure, I mentioned the issue to the desk staff. He was most apologetic and made it clear that he would bring my observation to management. We had drinks and snacks in the bar. The soups was delicious. Breakfast was a treat as well, The hotel was located within comfortable walking distance of the Old City and not far from the bus stop.
Hotel is situated near city center and is very clean. Car parking is available. Breakfast is good and diverse. Price is okay for this quality. When I come back, I will stay in Hotel Lev Ljubljana again.
Stayed at this hotel found at the edge of the city center and had a good view of the Ljubljana Castle. The city center is an easy 5-10 min walk from this hotel although, currently, one would have to navigate roads under construction in the area. Our room was comfortable and well-kept.
As previous reviewers have said Hotel Lev offers a great location, on site parking, a friendly & helpful staff, excellent breakfast included in the room rate, all a short walk to the historical center. Hotel Lev recognizes and engages with its guests, something so many hotels fail to do. I felt at-home, comfortable and importantly as a solo traveler, safe, because the staff oversees its guests' experience. My room overlooked the park and with a wall-to-wall desk/work area included blackout drapes and a window that could be opened. Though compact it was very comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was up-to-date and housekeeping excellent. The only minus in the room was the compact closet built to store clothes left/right, rather than the usual front to back and was very difficult to get to clothes, but a minor issue. In front of the lobby area is a nice outdoor seat area where you can enjoy people watching and a nice beverage. If you are not renting a car, the hotel will arrange a car service to pick you up at and return you to the airport for a reasonable price. I fell in love with Ljubljana and will return to stay at Hotel Lev once again.
Had a very nice, quiet superior room with castle view and an opening window. A kettles is available for early tea/coffee if you ask. Breakfast was truly excellent but we did not see anyone eating in the restaurant in the evenings. When we enquired about a dining one night we were told they could not accommodate us because they were fully booked. As we returned from eating out (at Saba 102 – pretty good) around 9:00pm there was no one to be seen! Don’t know what that was all about. Limited car parking space is available on the forecourt but a rather officious female receptionist said we risked a fine if we parked there long term and that we should pay to use their underground car park. Next day many guests seemed to have left their cars outside overnight without penalty. Nonetheless we'd stay here again.
Very friendly helpful staff, we was made to feel very welcome during a short stay. Comfy bed, clean and well kept room. Modernised, short walking distance to old town, bus and train station. Good variety of food for breakfast with plenty of choice
Hotel Lev was a great hotel just out from the main sites in the main city. We didn’t realise but there is road work happening right next to the hotel which is quite loud. We didn’t ask for an upgrade but we’re nicely surprised when they upgraded us I’m guessing due to the roadwork. The room we had was very spacious with a great view across the City and the castle. Breakfast was also very nice with a large choice of different foods and drinks. Would stay here again!
Fantastic service , Mateja Pucko on the front desk looked after me with a high level of professionalism. The room was fantastic, modern clean and stylish the bed was superb I could have slept in for a long time. Great team great hotel. Top class.
This hotel is clean and has a good quality/price ratio. It is at walking distance from the centre and the train station but its surroundings are not pleasant. The room is well designed and comfortable but the curtains are not dark and thick enough. As a result, at early morning, the sunlight can easily enter the room, which is no more dark. This becomes a real problem in summer, when the sun rises around 5 a.m.
Booked room online and was asked for card details which I assumed was for payment. It did not say anywhere that I would have to pay upon checking out as I thought I had already paid. So I was surprised when I was asked for the full amount to be paid upon leaving. If I hadn’t had had the extra money I don’t know what would have happened. Otherwise a nice room and great location in Ljubljana.
