Two nights in a lovely converted old building in quiet surroundings where the food was great and the restaurant staff very friendly, however there was an inconvenience of a wedding party taking over the whole hotel, and a chaotic reception area where booking a taxi seemed to cause huge problems and we were nearly late for the theatre. Within easy walking distance to the city centre and Cathedrals.
Stayed here on a 2nd visit as we were taking my daughter to Uni, we have a triple room and we have plenty of space. Comfortable rooms, decent food, staff were lovely, very helpful. We will probably stay here again when visiting our daughter.
Stayed here and attended a family wedding. The room for the party was beautiful and food was fab.We stayed in a family room which was clean except for the mirror in bathroom which seemed overlooked. Also found it noisy through the night with adjacent room taps when they were turned on and a door below us which must of had a lot of traffic as we could hear it being used most of the night, apart from that it was a good hotel which I would probably use again
Myself and my Aunt spent one night here while in Liverpool visiting family. Staff: Extremely polite and helpful. Service at both reception and the bar area was quick and effortless. Room: We were in room 108 towards the front of the Hotel. At night there was noise from the main road. This didn't bother us but may bother you if you're a lighter sleeper. During the night the room got so hot. This is the main reason for giving 4/5 and not 5/5. I lay awake for a good portion of the night too warm to sleep but unable to open the window due to noise from the traffic. The beds were comfortable. The room and bathroom were modern and clean. To be honest the full hotel (including the rooms) was much better than we originally anticipated. Food: we ordered Fish & Chips (£7.95 each), garlic bread with cheese (£2.00 for four slices) and Alabama Chocolate Fudge cake (£2.95 each) for dessert. The portions were huge and they tasted lovely. We we initially concerned as some reviews had said the food was "frozen". Our meals did not taste like they had been cooked from frozen. I would recommend trying the food! On each table there is a menu containing the "bar food" but at the bar, there was also a separate restaurant menu with kids meals and other options not on the bar menu. Overall, this was a comfortable stay and well worth the price we paid (£54 for one night!)
I can't fault this hotel in anyway possible, great service, fabulous food, ample parking, stunning rooms, clean bathroom, everything was spot on ! Really enjoyed our 2 night stay and if I am ever in this area again would defo stay here. Highly recommend 👌🏽👌🏽

My daughter and son in law were married here last August and they made it such a memorable day even the overnight stay. So party was booked which too place yesterday 15/9/2017 resident DJ knows his stuff and music and his audience. Buffet food is amazing fish n chips are a must. Breakfast is served between 8 am and 10am and has a whole range. Breakfast and toast cooked to order and is fab. There is disabled access and a lift. Plenty of car parking space so no probs. Thank you to all the staff who at friendly and helpful from cleaning to catering to bar staff and management. They know how to make your day and stay memorable.
Booked in at The Park for one night to drop my son off at Uni. Staff polite and helpful, room was above average and only a 20 min drive to the Uni. Worst bits - none I can think off Best bits - great staff, Chilean merlot 👍, top notch full English and free parking. Good value
Booked a table for 6, (Sunday lunch) 2 people in our family group birthdays, I always enjoy food from Park hotel but this time we were disappointed, breaded mushrooms were from frozen as we're prawns! The beef was packet sliced beef, I expected proper roast beef, this was a big disappointment, these meals aren't cheap yet the quality on this occasion was. I will not be returning for Sunday lunch. Staff were lovely and friendly, great service.
I stayed at the Park Hotel the night before attending a function on Sunday morning. Bad mistake: the hotel rooms are above a function room used for wedding discos and the room windows look out onto the external smoking and drinking area. The music went onto about 12:30 and then there was an awful lot of noise as the party guests left or tried to find their rooms. Breakfast was also a weird experience: we agreed to pay extra to have breakfast in the hotel as it wasn't included in the room rate we paid on Booking.com. We put our order in and waited half and hour. When we eventually enquired we were told the food was on its way. 10 mins later we were told the order hadn't been placed and we needed to sign a bit of paper agreeing to pay for it! When we spoke with the manager he pointed out the hotel's own website states it is a function hotel. Whilst I recognise this will be a primary source of income for them, personally the one thing I expect from a hotel is to be able to sleep there (especially after 11pm). He kindly agreed to reduce the cost and we also didn't pay for breakfast which was some compensation. The receptionists were also very nice and the rooms themselves ok, but I would definitely check whether there is a function on if you intend to stay there. Not a great experience!
We're all feeling a bit fed up and hungry, having just got home from our Sunday dinner at the Park Hotel. The restaurant isn't very big which is not a problem in itself, it became a problem when the children and their parents from the wedding reception in the room next to us, where given two large tables to eat their meal, so as not to disturb the happy couple and their guests, within minutes you could see why they were removed from the wedding reception, chasing each other, kicking large balloons all over the place and not one member of staff said a word. Anyway, our meal. I was served frozen breaded mushrooms for my starter, frozen beef, Yorkshire pudding, peas, cabbage and carrot and swede. £14 for a frozen meal in a playground!!!!! The rest of our party all received the same frozen meals. The food was always freshly cooked to order here, sadly not now. Save your money and go to a Toby, Beefeater or a Hungry Horse
