As it isoblu local visited for a quiet drink. Prices were average and quiet until later when a function arrived which was fine. Only 1 bar person who seemed relatively new. After 2 drinks we decided to order a a few sides from the limited menu. Cheesy garlic bread was gorgeous however the 'skinny' chips were just average sized and undercooked as though cooked cooked from frozen. We checked that they defiantly were the skinny and were advised the usual size were almost wedge like. Would go again as its only local for a drink but not for food when there are similar and cheaper establishments within walking distance
Went to a Grease V Dirty Dancing Night which incorporated a 3 course meal...accompanied with wine. And drinks included.....but only after 9.30pm which I hadn't been aware of. Ok. Put this under my foot and bought a couple of Gin and tonics...ONLY Gordon's gin available, and no ginger ale, and cost £5.25 FOR A SINGLE!!! Ok. I know it's supposed to be a prime location but it's under £4 for a DOUBLE in other establishments... Anyway...took that on the chin...then the meal came...the soup was lukewarm...the pork steal was 2 mediocre slices of pork that seemed to come from a pack. The mash was a very small portion and seemed pre mixed. Veg almost non existent. And again...lukewarm!! Not very good. The chocolate dessert was topped with lovely looking white vanilla ice cream. Ohhh yum!! Wait... No!! Was synthetic cream!! Not even fresh cream. Tasted disgusting and the sweet was way too sweet. Tho perhaps that last observation pertains to my personal preference. So onto the "entertainment". They weren't the greatest of singer's. The girls up dancing hid them...which wasn't a bad thing!! But what was poor was they were singing the wrong words!! I mean please!!! If you are going to entertain in a place like this and on a themed night, surely it's not too much to expect for the duo to know the songs. Again, thank heaven en for the girls up dancing who sang louder!! All in all not a great experience. Would NOT recommend it...went to a similar eve in Formby Hall a while ago which cost less, and the food was second to none. As was the entertainment. Not to the Park Must do better!!!
On arrival the car park was of ample size. Check in was quick and easy. We stay in a family room was a good space for 3 adults with a double and 2 singles . The room was clean along with the bathroom. For we paid I was very impressed. If was ever in the area again would stay here.
Big thank you to the park Hotel Netherton for making our daughters wedding day a day to remember. Planning was taken care of by the events team which ensured the whole day and night went smoothly. Room decorated beautifully, wedding reception including food and drink could not be faulted and all staff were really friendly and helpful. Evening buffet again was lovely with hot and cold selection and the DJ had the dance floor full all night long. Many of the wedding party stayed over and rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with a hearty breakfast included the following morning. A good selection of cereals, fruit, juices etc offered followed by waitress service for a cooked breakfast, toast, tea or coffee.
Booked here last minute without looking at the details and found to my surprise it was really nice, staff were friendly and there was a buzz in the 'lounge bar' if you wanted to have drinks. I had a twin room for one and everything i needed was there, all nice and clean if a little dated but excellent value for money. I didn't have breakfast as I was eating elsewhere later. Nice and quiet for me at the rear of the hotel. Aldi next door if you needed toiletries or snacks. there was also a lift so all floors accessible. I tried to stay a second night but they were fully booked. Popular for Aintree I suspect. Wifi and parking for guests so absolutely no complaints.
Been a few years since I was last here & I must say they went all out to make our family wedding party run smoothly! The buffet food really went down a treat, hot fish & chips everyone enjoyed & lots of other great tasting food. Staff all friendly would like to say we would visit here again without a doubt.
The hotel is a long way from the city £15 taxi ride. The reception is very modern a bit misleading beacuse the rooms are very dated and very small. Our room was extremely hot the window only opened 3cm but couldn't leave it open through the night beacuse your on a major road the noise from it was unbearable. The shower head was so scaled up it was just a trickle the toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet. I would not stay again and would not recommend this hotel 😥
Overall impression of a nice fresh, modernised hotel. It was obvious that this was ongoing. The rooms (we had 3) were lovely with obviously new carpet and wallpaper, however, the lightings is very poor. The wardrobe was next to one side of the window so when the door is opened it is impossible to see inside the wardrobe. Impossible to apply any make up either! the heating control is inside a small lift up flap of wood which was impossible to fit a hand into, hence the room was cold the whole time we were there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay again.
Stayed here for second time, this time using a double room as there was just the 2 of us.Room was clean,no complaints about it.The only issue was that the room was facing out towards the busy dual carriageway and it sounded like the window was open all night.Every car that drove past was very loud to the point were I got up in the night just to double check that the window was closed
We were in town to see a band and for some reason the whole of Liverpool was booked up so this was the only place we could get a room. We ended up paying £184 for B+B which was way over the top but we had no choice. Got back from the gig 11 pm and went to the residents bar for a drink where some locals who'd been there all night were getting the hump as they'd been asked to leave and they didn't want to go.After the manager called the police they finally admitted defeat and left but so did the bar staff so we went to bed. We were on the top floor and the roof was leaking so there were half a dozen buckets in the passage catching the drips. There was also a Christmas party going on so we spent most of the night listening to various girls crying and men having a go at each other in the hallway which finally stopped at 7.30 AM but we were up by then. Breakfast was good and most of the staff were great which is why I'm giving it 2 instead of 1. If you've got a choice avoid this place like the plague!
