Very friendly and welcoming family run hotel . Room clean and comfortable. We had our evening meal which was goood, excellent starter and the best sweet trolley I have seen in a long time. Only downside was the beef was bt rare as requested.

Had a lovely very meal here about two weeks back.service was excellent . Never stayed the night but it was very nice ambience there. Was not cheap above average I would say t,o other places I have eaten. Maybe nice to go for a special occasion.

Small room that needs a lick of paint & more. Trouser press wires cut off (i.e. Not in use) Water stains both sides at the bottom of the window, marks on all walls. The small bathroom had 5 faults, door lock broken, shower control broken, toilet seat broken, no on off control on radiator (just off) no light bulb ( this was fixed 24 hrs after check in. Other rooms we did see looked much better! All staff were excellent.

Booked here as it was where a family wake was due to be held. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the room ,16, large and included surprises such as combined trouserpress and ironing board! Lovely ensuite with bath and shower too. Our evening meal was delicious and beautifully presented. I was a litttle concerned about traffic noise and the pub opposite...neither proved to be a problem. Over 100 people came back after the funeral yet the bar staff were unflappable and coped well despite the last guests still sitting in the lovely function room until late in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year.

Arrived late at night after long hard day and received excellent service from welcoming staff thoroughly recommended. Beer was much needed and was left in a quiet corner to get on with work Did enjoy selection of background music enjoyable without being intrusive.

My Wife and I recently stayed at the Grovehouse for 5 nights and what a lovely enjoyable experience it was the Reception was friendly and welcoming our room overlooking the lovely garden was well appointed having recently been decorated in lovely pastel shades and as always well maintained in standards of housekeeping, the food in the dining room was beautifully cooked and served by friendly attentive staff, all in all a lovely relaxing stay

Stayed for one night (Room 3, large, clean and comfortable bed). Effecient check-in. Wasn't intending to have dinner but we did and we were pleasantly surprised. Enough choice, well presented and delicious. Comfortable bed, a little noisy from traffic but we did have window open. Lovely breakfast, wide choice and efficient service. Ideal base for the many golf clubs that are around or the National Cycle Network. I would even use it rather than one of the chains in Liverpool (which I have used previously).

We have our Annual Palm Line (Merchant Navy) Reunion at The Grove House, it is a small boutique hotel and so only those booking early have the pleasure of a room. It is impossible to split hotel and restaurant as they both combine for the overall enjoyment and satisfaction. I fly in from Venezuela and most of our "gang" arrive from all over the UK and are received as friends and family. I find it difficult to express just how the Owner and all his Staff do their utmost to ensure that your stay is a happy one and all your needs are met. The accommodation is impressively clean and well cared for and there is always evidence that the rooms are constantly modernised and equipped. The restaurant is the crowning glory, whether you are eating alone or in a party of thirty, the organisation, food, attendance and assistance is legendary, serving of thirty people, all with different a la carte meals, ran so smoothly it was hard to believe, and we couldn't fault a thing - impressively piping-hot vegetables, just how do they do it ? Respectful attention with a smile at every turn. Can't wait until next year - and must book early. If it is not an advertised amenity, ask, and I am sure Owner/Staff will come up with a tailor made solution for you.

The staff at The Grove House are excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff could not have been kinder or more attentive. They were there if needed and left you alone if not. Nothing was too much trouble. Their kindness to my ten year old grand daughter was above and beyond. A special thank you to Chelsea James and Carl. We will stay again and again.

As an ex Waalaseu resident I always had fond memories of the Grove House and recently bpoked agagin for a famiky visit. The staff are friendly, rooms clean & good value and the restaurant has a good choice of excellent cooked food. Onc3 again an enjoyable experience.
