Was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but pleasantly surprised.Hotel in gd location for centre.Rooms small& yes our room needed refurbished but if you want 5star you need to pay 5star prices.Room cleaned every day with fresh towels tea coffee & biscuits.Breakfasts gd with plenty of choice.Staff very pleasant and always helpful.Would stay again. Also got a space in hotel car park no bother, although that might have been because it was Sunday afternoon.
The hotel itself is lush, well managed and welcoming. I got a very good deal on a 3 night stay using business rates. Location is fantastic, close to Hope St etc where great pubs, restaurants are easy to find. The room, although a little on the small size was very comfortable; I had all items I might need for my stay including hair dryer, iron/board etc which was great. Only problem I had was that walls were paper thin so I could the person next door to me snoring/ watching TV. Staff were in general very friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Beautifully modernised hotel. (Corridor yet to be renovated) Bedrooms & Bathrooms were very clean & modern. Beds very comfortable. Beautiful fresh breakfast, and lots of fresh fruit. Complimentary scones in the evening for guests.
Visited here as part of a hen party, there were 17 of us in total. The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre and has a car park at the rear which is secured by an electric gate. We stayed in room 514 which was lovely, only criticism was it was soooo hot and the windows didn't open enough to get any air. Staying on a bed and breakfast basis was perfect waking up to a full on English or there were a small selection of pastries and cereals if you'd prefer. Just beware that if you are going as a family the hen and stag scene is massive in Liverpool so although it was fine for us if I was a family with children I'm not sure I would have felt the same way.
Arrived and the lady on reception was very helpful - we found the rooms were fine - compact - but well kept. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The receptionist booked the meal deal for us and we had an enjoyable night. Breakfast was fine the next day and the girls waiting in the dining room were helpful. An enjoyable stay.
Lovely stay at the hallmark even though I got lost finding it. Rooms a bit dated but clean Staff very accomodating and kind especially the young Irish girl who even printed off directions for us. Breakfast was lovely a nice choice to choose from. Very close into city centre but with mum not being able to walk far we took a taxi which was great. Car was parked safe at the rear with no additional cost. Thank you
Arrived at the hotel around 6pm on Bank Holiday Sunday, booked a double room through booking.com but when we arrived we had two singles. We thought we'd ask reception if they had another room with a double bed, but if not its fine. They more than happily found us a room and what a lovely room it was, room 504! Great stay here, lovely staff and fab location! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you..
Not purpose built, so lots of narrow corridors and stairs, with non-standardised rooms. We had 122 and 123 on the 2nd floor at the back (but not actually adjacent), so minimal traffic noise. 122 has a modern shower cubicle; 123 has an older over-the-bath shower. Twin rooms, would be rather compact for two for fine for single occupancy. Staff really pleasant and helpful with efficient luggage storage. Excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast in the bar/dining area, and cheerful waitresses. It's an old building so the floors creak and sound insulation is not great: I got an insomniac clog-dancing furniture mover above my room who didn't seem to sleep between midnight and 5 a.m. but my friend had a peaceful night. If you are fit enough, you might be best asking for the top floor to get round this. Great location for getting to the Philharmonic Hall and cathedrals or down into the city.
We recently visited Liverpool for my partners birthday and have a 4 month old baby and we got a great deal. When we first arrived at the car park at the back the only issues we had where that that the hall way is quite thin and not wide enough to fit a buggy but when we got to reception the girl on the desk was great and actually upgraded us to a superior room free of charge. So we were delighted with our huge four poster bed and spacious room we had. We spent most of our days and nights out and about the city and we received breakfast both mornings which was great and the restaurant looked good. I would agree the hotel is a bit outdated and could do with some work done but for the price and location we would return as it's 10 minutes walk to the main centre of Liverpool and not much further to the docks.
Booked with a Groupon voucher for my OH 50th Birthday. The room was very "tired" in need of a complete update, there was damp in one corner and a large crack in the ceiling. The bathroom was partly tiled complete with black mould. The staff were pleasant enough and the breakfast was good, it was such a shame they sent us to The Refinerary for dinner - which was awful
