The staff were wonderful and friendly! The room was beautiful and quiet. The tub was wonderful! The food was also very good! We loved the location. We took a short walk to the beach. We were also able to charge the car. Highly recommend!

Not Impressed

Having paid over £700 for our rooms, we were extremely disappointed with our stay at the Black Horse. The staff were on the whole polite, with the exception of the lady serving us breakfast: she shouted across the dining room to other guests, about the coffee they would like, shoved a plate of cold toast onto our table without clearing the used breakfast bowls, which we had to clear ourselves. My room was located right beside the large, noisy kitchen extractor fan, which was on full blast from 0735 each morning until 2130 at night. It was also fully visible from the balcony through the black metal functional railings. On our first morning, we ordered the granola, Greek yoghurt and compote, we were presented with two large bowls, with generous helpings of all three ingredients. This was tasty, if rather too much, however we were glad to have eaten it once the toast arrived, which was clearly straight out of a plastic bag, thin, dry and cold! To top it off the only condiment was strawberry jam - another guest purchased her own jar of marmalade. The cleanliness was poor, especially in the dining room where the floor and benches were covered in crumbs of food and dust. The area under the sideboard was filthy and throughout our stay the carpets and stairs in the accommodation area were not cleaned. The air con in my room was noisy and made noises even when turned off. The balconies and rear of the pub were featureless and had no character. Such a pity.

We had a lovely stay, the rooms were amazing too. We were lucky enough to be there when there was a live music event, this was a bonus for us as the music was fab it was a great night. The staff were friendly & knowledgeable about the area, we will definitely return
