In general the Hotel is nice and with a good location, just cross the road and you are in the beach. The conditions are nice they are improving the hotel. I didn't use the gym and the swimming pool( maintenance )
The pictures and the description are nowhere near the reality. Very far off from the heart of Lisbon, at night no bus goes there you either have to call a cab or uber to get back to your hotel. The rooms are poorly maintained and in no way should it be a 4* star Hotel. The only thing that's actually decent about this place is the staff who were very helpful. I would definitely suggest booking another hotel.
Stayed here in a group of 21 for 4 nights, 16 x 15 year olds and 5 adults. Couldn't fault the hotel. Location is directly on the beach, staff were really helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, food was varied well cooked, I've never been in a hotel at the end of a season that didn't need a lick of paint so didn't bother us. We can only comment on how it met our needs and we had a fantastic stay and will return to this hotel if we return to the area. Many thanks
The hotel is somehow disapointing. Although it is 4 stars, big and very well located, the rooms are outdated and above all, not well maintained. I've stayed in room 604 where one could see several minor things that all together are inadequate for this type of hotel. Examples are the poorness of the higiene kit, the cleanliness (lack of it ) of the bath tube, the ageing of the room carpet and the rustiness in many metal parts. Specially in the bathroom, there is no reason at all for not being properly cleaned, maintained and equiped with better products. Last but not least, the breakfast was overcrouded with a 2/3 stars quality, never 4 stars.
We've stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in October ; although was extra season the hotel was pretty busy but if you come by car is a good idea to stay here especially in this period as you have the Ocean and a great view just opposite the building, is quieter than in the heart of Lisbon, you can find very easy a free place to park and you get to the city in about 10 minutes by car. Close you have Almada Mall and some nice restaurants. The hotel is ok, a little old and I think for the 4 stars they should do some refurbishment but is clean, services are ok, great breakfast and staff.
This hotel was 4 stars back in the 1970s but not much has been done with it since then. They are about to have a huge renovation so it will be spectacular from March next year. The location is great though, and we had an ocean view which was beautiful. Staff at the beach club were really nice.
We have stayed in this hotel several times; this time we went with our son, daughter-in-law and 14 months’ old grand-daughter. I have to say that the staff were absolutely superb. They provided a cot for the baby and cleared the mini-bar in their room to make space for the baby’s food. Not only that: the pool bar staff warmed up the baby’s dinner food in the micro-wave every day (we made an arrangement with a local beach restaurant and they prepared ‘take-aways’ for her). This meant that her routine was not disrupted and she had home-cooked dinners at her normal meal times. As I have only been to this hotel with my husband and sister-in-law, I have never considered its suitability for young families. I have got to say that I was quite pleasantly impressed. Our little one enjoyed the paddling pool and the play area and the staff could not have been more obliging. The reception staff are lovely and the bar staff were excellent. The hotel has great location but it does need refurbishing. We understand that it will close in November for a month for refurbishing.
İt is very clean near the beach (20 mt. just one road) but they dont have any place on the beach. The pool is ok but they should be change tiles :). Most of the custumers are older than 50 years old. Breakfast is ok.
Most of the reception desk staff at this hotel are unsmiling and unwelcoming. Was very surprised by this as it is the first impression guests will have of the hotel. Working on a busy desk should not preclude a smile and a warm welcome at all times of the day. Other staff I encountered at the hotel were both friendly and helpful. They do not have irons in the rooms and their laundry service includes five euros for ironing a shirt. Rang room service one afternoon which was supposed to be 24 hours at least four times with no answer. Rang reception, they said they would put me through and again no answer. They have a mini bar in the rooms but no tea/coffee/kettle. There is a small shop in the foyer where you can buy little hand sewn craft souvenirs and proceeds go to charity - worth a look. Rooms were clean. Refurbishment of hotel takes place Nov 16 to Jan 17 and it then re-opens. Excellent location for the beaches.
Stayed here recently for 4 nights. The lobby was fairly modern looking. We've got a room with sea view on the 4th floor, the minute you step into the room, that was when you see how different the rooms are to the common areas. Carpets were old, faded and stained, and the pile of the carpet is bare in places. The overall interiors are very old, with florescent white bulbs for lighting which were not very relaxing atmosphere, holes in the curtains, cracks in the bathroom tiles, as well as rusty shower taps and head. Water pressure was bit low but still okay. Most important thing we need was the safe, but there was no lock on the safe, it was a hole with the lock taken out. Wardrobe was dusty and hangers very dusty. Beds and sheets were clean however and so that was okay. Helpful front desk staff. Breakfast was okay. Pool was small and deck/lounge chairs all taken by towels by breakfast time. Overall I say it's a pleasant enough experience but for price it charged for Lisbon, I would expect slight better amenities.
