Stayed for 2 nights as part of a business trip. The Hotel appears modern and practical and is showing a degree of 'artistic flair' in some of its designs. The downstairs bathrooms are bright red and interesting. The rooms are not big. But to me pretty typical of a Euro style room. The bathrooms are clean and practical but small so dont bring a lot of items for the counter. The internet works very well. Overall I had a very comfortable stay. It was very practical for me and everything worked well. I didnt go to the breakfast so i cannot comment on food or room service. My only concern was checking out as i had an early flight and had to leave the hotel at 5 am and there was no one at reception. personally i like the 'check out' and get my bill before i leave.
We stayed for four nights at the Arte Hotel Linz, for the World Rowing Championships in Ottensheim. We were greeted and checked in by a friendly and efficient member of staff. We ate every meal out of the hotel, preferring variety and freedom of choice, so can’t comment on the quality of the food offered. The hotel is located adjacent to the new city hall, and almost opposite the Ars Electronica Centre, so it’s just a short and easy walk across the Danube into the city. Public transport is easily accessible from the hotel, which also has its own chargeable underground car park. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed in this hotel for 8 days, had a very good time and didn’t get tired of the hotel. The hotel is decorated with modern art from local artists that gave us a feeling of visiting an art gallery. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating all our needs. The breakfast offered on top of the international choices Austrian specialities as well. The hotel garage is very spacious and walking to the old town of Linz crossing the Danube bridge day or night was a pleasure.
No welcome feeling at all, My bathroom was full of hairs from the previews guests - no apologies nothing they only gave me 2 fresh towels (there was also hairs on my towels....), Rooms are small and smelly, very bad value for money, There are much better hotels in this area i suggest you don`t go for this one!!!!!
Overpriced for a very small, stuffy room. Breakfast too expensive at 17e Minimum facilities, overall disappointment with our stay.... I hope there are better options available in linz. We wanted a treat on our donauweg, didn't get one.
The Spitz Hotel is now called the Arte Hotel. Located just over the Bridge on the Danube, the Hotel is near Lentia City mall about a 10 minute walk away, the Billa Market and a small Italian restaurant. The hotel is in a good price range, has a mini bar, comfortable bed and a balcony that runs the length of the front of the hotel. The street is quiet but the traffic including a tram is heavy on the Main Street about 700 feet away. Breakfast is served daily...buffet style. Pretty good. The cheeses and bread are wonderful. And I got hooked on hot schcolate...hot cocoa with warm foamy milk. The staff speaks English but I try to speak a few words in German as a courtesy. Book early: the Spitz Arte Hotel is popular. It is a comfortable friendly hotel. And have Fun! Guten Reise!
The hotel is stylish (everything is Spitz branded) and modern equipped. The rooms are clean, but not very spacious. Breakfast is OK. The „restaurant/bar“ closes at 11:00 - if you arrive late, be prepared. The staff is very friendly though. The location is close to the Ars Electronica Center, which is definitely worth to be visited.
The Homepage is very promising and it is kept by the entrance- rooms are tiny and it is difficult to find “art”, the rooms are ok in general for a weekend- good is the proximity to the city - breakfast is ok, fresh fruits you get at first come first ..
The Spitz is a very modern looking hotel and everything is on brand, even the sponges in the room are in the SPITZ style. As with everywhere in Austria, everything is clean and tidy. No complaints there at all. Breakfast is simple continental style but sufficient. Central location, about 1 min walk from the Danube.
Stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The reception staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. This hotel is modern in the theme of the UNESCO city of media arts that is Linz. The location was perfect for us. It is on the other side of the Danube from the old city but it is 5 minutes walk over the river. It is 3 mins walk to the little train station that takes you to Ottensheim and the bus to Ottensheim is closer. There is a small market nearby with quirky shops including an excellent café. Hotel is very quiet. Didn't have breakfast as we were out early each morning so can't comment on that.
