recently spent a week at the kapetanios in September on a half board basis, the room was basic but very clean and was cleaned every day with clean towels provided. the food was buffet style and there was plenty of selections available all the staff from the reception, room cleaners, bar and dining room staff were very helpful. the only downside was the upper carpark which has been lost to hotel guests there is still an underground car park with limited amounts of car parking space. but overall a lovely hotel to stay in.
Been many times. Extremely clean and comfortable, staff (many who have been there for a long time)very welcoming and thoughtful, I even saw the dining room staff providing a high chair for a child's teddy. You can take breakfast out to one of the tables by the pool. Friendly lifeguard on duty who also keeps the pool area very clean. Many regulars visiting, who are remembered by staff, which also makes it good for people travelling alone. Good location - across the road from the beach (but not actually on beach road so quieter) which also has a watersports and regular buses to old town/marina or only 15 mins walk along the seafront promenade, many coffee shops, some bars, excellent small supermarket (A & S) nearby. Also good for business travellers.
Stayed at Kapetanios for 2 nights while attending Decentralized 2017. Very friendly guy at the reception night shift helped with a smooth check in. Room is quote large and clean with a nice terrace. From what I understood this hotel is very central so good location. Mini bar was empty I think. Breakfast is quite average. and the swimming pool I noticed has many high building surrounding it, so no privacy there. From what I understood this hotel is very central so good location. Thank you for a nice stay!
I read that the hotel was renovated in 2011, but when we entered the hotel it was like we were transferred back in the 70s or 80s... The decor and rooms reminded me of mass tourist hotels of that era, with the furniture being old and tired. Service was also very impersonal. The only plus was that the hotel was at least clean
Nice hotel. Staff very good especially Anna (pool bar) and Andreas (O'Brians). All staff very helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable with mini fridge. Little supermarket directly opposite for milk and nibbles etc. We had B&B and ate in a couple of nights (Italian and Cyprus) Cyprus night especially good with dancing and 'audience' participation (if you wanted to). O'Brians have a happy hour 2130 to 2230 so worth getting back for. Cocktails at 6 euro each so happy hour good value with BOGOF. Pool excellent, no problem with sun bed availability and an outside jaccuzi on request. Lunch time food at the pool bar very good. We will definitely go again.
Clean, tidy, no problems checking in and out, good location, friendly and welcoming staff. Pool rarely busy so nice and peaceful. Excellent service from cleaners, we had one very lovely woman during our stay.
Another wonderful two weeks. On arrival after a long day travelling reception made us welcome and organised room keys and paperwork quickly. Up to our room ,well appointed everything we asked for and free water in the fridge. View from balcony overlooking the pool . We stayed b and b as we prefer to eat out locally . Brilliant stay will be booking again, centrally located easy access to old town and tourist area by No 30 bus every twenty minutes
We stayed for a week at the end of Aug 2017. We had a room on the 5th floor with a pool and side sea view which was exactly what I requested - thank you! The room was spacious, clean and fairly quiet - we did hear doors slamming etc a couple of times early morning (around 07.30). The air con was quiet and effective (very important as it was around 35 degrees!). For TV buffs you can watch BBC world and CNN plus a lot of the Cypriot channels are in English anyway (PIK 1/2 etc) The reception staff were friendly and helpful, we asked about the car parking which is underground (we always managed to find a space) and they advised there are spaces outside the hotel if it gets full The restaurant - we were half board and my partner is Coeliac - when we enquired about gluten free items some of the staff didn't seem too sure and even confused this with being diabetic (maybe some training here required?). However once we spoke to George, the restaurant manager he contacted the chef who then cooked some delightful grilled meals each night. Well done and thank you to George and the chef! For myself I found the buffet food more than adequate - I especially enjoyed the Greek night buffet plus the entertainment - Greek dancing and the dance of the glasses was excellent! Breakfast was the same every day, a decent selection of cereals, breads, continental and cooked - there is fresh grapefruit for those who say there is no fresh fruit. The pool area is very relaxing, clean and tidy. It was fairly quiet during our stay. The pool is kept spotless and if you want to use the Jacuzzi the staff will switch it on for you. The are 2 bars around the pool. There is a gym but we didn't get to use it as it doesn't open until 11am and we preferred to be out and about by that time. This was a shame as we regularly go to the gym and would have liked to give it a try - maybe a suggestion to open up slightly earlier? The location is just across from the beach, just behind TGI Fridays and around a 10 minute walk from the Municipal Gardens/zoo - which is where the Limassol Wine Festival took place during our stay - a fab night out! If you hire a car the hotel entrance can be a bit tricky to navigate at first due to the one way streets! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return as we do every year to Limassol!
10 night stay. Very clean hotel & staff are very pleasant. Food is ok, sometimes a little on the cold side, but great touch where you can swop your evening meal to a lunch meal. Nice pool area, that was quite quiet on our visit, but I would be concerned how it would be in busy periods as not huge with only about 50 beds. One of the most annoying things for me is the door slamming at night, I'm sure the doors could be altered so they don't slam closed, disturbing sleep. If it hadn't been for this it's quite a quiet hotel, which is great for relaxing. On the whole a lovely place to stay & great to see the cats happily living around the grounds. Would defiantly return but probably on bed & breakfast basis only next time.
My sister and I visited in August for 4 days, whilst we attended my son,s wedding in Cyprus. We picked the hotel for location to where the wedding was, it didn't have lots around but enough for the few days we were there. The room was clean, fairly basis. Reception staff were helpful, ordering cabs and answering any questions we had. The pool area was comfortable, clean and adequate. The food served outside was nice for by a pool. We ate breakfast in the morning which was the same everyday but was adequate. We ate once in the evening which was a Buffett and had an enjoyable meal, nothing fancy but tasty. The hotel and area was good for the money we paid and the short time we spent there.
