Located near by the Parca del Olivar, in San Isidro neighborhood of Lima, Nice business hotel with good meeting rooms, nice breakfast and lunches (never tried Dinner) Rooms are spacious and contemporary, the only complaint I had was that I love very hot showers, and for me the water was just a bit too cold, but still acceptable.
I will strongly recommend Sonesta El Olivar to travelers to Lima! The location is insuperable. The Olive tree Park in outside the Hotel Door. This Park is very well maintained and has security that is very important while walking with my sister and friends ! Breakfast is well balance has fresh made hot items like bacon and eggs and also yogurt , fruit and grains for the vegetarians! Best coffee! Manuel, Sandro at the door, Ronald and Eber the best bartenders, Jorge that makes great sushi, will make your stay a pleasant experience. Angelina and Cynthia at the desk will check you in your flights and print your boarding passes! Sonesta is not a huge hotel and is not a boutique hotel! It has the charm and elegance of European hotels with the efficiency of the most modern ones! Our room was very spacious! Two queen beds, big bathroom and seating area! You will thank me!!
I have been staying at SONESTA El Olivar in Lima since the hotel was opened. It has been remodeled and upgraded a few times. It is the best location in San Isidro. The food at their restaurant is excellent; the breakfast in delicious and abundant, the rooms are very comfortable, especially those with a view to the olive forest. The new sushi bar, in the main lobby is the perfect place to enjoy a pisco sour and a wide selection of sushi. No better place to say in San Isidro, Lima. The Park El Olivar is also a great place to jog or walk in the early morning or evening. Very safe.
We were taken to this hotel as part of our tour and this was our first stop in Lima. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood and I didn't feel like I was getting the true "vibe" of Lima in this location. When we walked around the area, we didn't see many stores or businesses. We had to take a taxi and battle Lima traffic to get anywhere to see any of the "sights". The lobby is a little small and the rooms were adequate and large. I found the hotel to be quiet and peaceful, especially because it had a lovely park with beautiful old olive trees right across from it. The staff is super-helpful and friendly and the breakfast had a lot of offerings. This hotel is fine, but my personal preference would have been to be closer to the Lima District or Miraflores.
This hotel is very good. The view is excellent and the room is really comfortable. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff is really friendly. A bit costy but worth it. In general I would recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place in Lima. I really like San Isidro area.
This was a very nice hotel to come to after some of our bad experiences in the Sacred Valley region. We booked this hotel through Travelocity, the same as the Pisonay Pueblo (see my review on that property), and they actually had our reservation intact. The reservation desk helped correct a room error, we had reserved an executive room with 2 queen beds rather than a standard, 2-double bed room. The front-desk service was good, but Sandro at the bell desk was exceptional, taking care of every detail. Our room was quiet, large, and very clean. The hotel breakfast was good, but could be even better with some improved sausage and bacon. The noon checkout time was a pleasant relief after 8 AM check outs in Cusco.
Right in front of los Olivos park! Go for a run or a walk. Enjoy the walk before going to work or taking a cab. At night many restaurants just a few blocks always. Want the beach? Take a cab, 15 minute drive. Nice. 3.5
Overall, a great experience, travelling for work duties, but would definitively use it for personal trips, the hotel is located in a lovely place, kind of an oasis, a calm place in the middle of the city, Hotel Staff are very friendly, and they're always ready to assist, especially in the front desk, The bar and restaurant are very ample and reflect a nice calm atmosphere that everyone will enjoy. The rooms that i've been in, i've enjoyed mostly because of the silence, no AC noises, no street noises, very good overall, also very clean. RECOMMENDED 100%, you will have a good time here for sure.
Located in San Isidro, Lima, just across from the Paseo el Olivar, one of the best parks for strolling, enjoy the birds or watch the neighbors. The hotel offer all amenities but only offers sauna at their suites, regular rooms and the hotel don't have a spa. The great location has the best restaurants of Lima at a walking distance like Tanta, Astrid & Gaston, Lima 27, Sushi Cage and others. Great breakfast and brunch on the weekends. Undoubtedly the place to stay in Lima.
Not only they do works with heavy drilling on the weekend, they do not bother to apologize. Also breakfast is a mess. In Lima you have to be on the road at 7 to get anything done because of the traffic. Now if you go to have a breakfast at 6 is there, and if you ask the people working there when they start they will say 6. If however there is Nobody to provide coffee and you ask at the reception, they will do nothing and tell you that breakfast starts at 6:30! Another time the reception lady needed me to tell her my room number in order to give me a laundry bag. No water provided , and if you want to try room service try having the burger. Then you will appreciate McDonald's as a gourmet option.
