DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY OR WORK WITH THESE OWNERS
Having to write my first bad review of any property I have ever rented (and I am someone who travels a lot). Ahead of renting the property, we checked with the owner that it would be ok that we hosted a small dinner with our family we were visiting in Lima since we are wanting to be safe and not go out to eat during Covid. Asked that he could send photos of the kitchen so we can relay to the chef, which he did. But as soon as we arrived, we were given a new person to speak to that we had never communicated with (Susy Q) who was incredibly rude, descriminatory (said they do not rent this unit to Peruvians! I am American and my friend grew up in Lima and we are here to visit his family), who told us we would not be allowed to have dinner at the house as planned and agreed upon by the owner, and we all came to an agreement it would be best if they refunded our money and we rented another place. We had terrible vibes from the moment we walked into the building from Susy and their doorman Hitler, and the place was filthy - towels were used, bathroom was dirty, and floors were greasy. Definitely not as advertised in the photos. So, we booked another place since Susy had agreed to give us our money back (we stayed at the unit for only 2 hours before leaving but agreed we would pay for one night + a cleaning fee). Now, Susy Q has completely disappeared, won't respond to our messages, and filed a fraudulent claim against us with VRBO and is refusing to issue the refund she promised us (Since she initiated the conversation with me on Whats App, they cannot force her to even though I have screenshots of our text conversation and her promises) . Had she not promised a refund, we would have stayed in the unit and not rented another property. Susy and Alfonso are fraudulent owners who lied to us numerous times and this unit is not at all how it appears in the photos. The place has no reviews and I can see why! Hope we can save someone else from making the same mistake of working with these people.
