I have stayed at the Novotel Lille Centre Grand Place several times and always had a good experience. This trip was no exception. The rooms were well maintained, the staff courteous and the location is excellent.
Stayed at the Novotel as part of a group tour . Room was clean, comfortable and quiet with all the facilities we needed. The staff were friendly , the breakfast and evening meal excellent with local produce available and great croissant and coffee for breakfast and a lovely evening buffet. The bar was great prices no higher than elsewhere. The hotel is a short walk to the centre of Lille and is 30 mins by coach from the Eurostar station. Check out from 11.00.
Very surprised the hotel has 4 star's!!! It ia not 4 star, having spent many years staying in novotel in thw 1990's this is where this particular one has remained.. Arrived room stained carpets, Nespresso machine filthy dirty.. They came and cleaned and didnt clean around it could draw in the dust, next morning tried to make a coffee and machine broken having paid for upgraded room and to jabe broken machine and v dirty carpets. Whole hotel looks tired and needs new carpets, painting done everywhere.. areals shame.. and the prices in bar were v inflated.. sad really.. Ahmed was particularly good ans i thank.him foe his advice and direction.
The hotel was in a great location for our stay, it was very central but also very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a decent size and the bed very comfortable and the food was also good. Would stay there again.
We were in transit and enjoyed a very pleasant night at the Novotel. After some nights in 3 star hotels it was nice to get some luxuries, including a Nespresso machine, free mini bar, and lovely bathroom. Staff were very accommodating and dinner in the cafe was easy and tasty.
Stayed onb a Tuesday night in July for business. Hotell is situated 5 minutes walk from Vieux Lille and the Grande Place. Parking is in an adjacent underground multi storey - €11.80 per 24 hour period which we felt was not excessive for a city centre. Yes the ramps are not the widest, and some of the parking spots are indeed narrow, however if you have a driving licence you should be able to navigate such obstacles - if you can't then I would question whether you should have a driving licence in the first place. Staff were welcoming and friendly upon both arrival and check out. Lobby is attractive and modern, free fruit flavoured water jar in lobby was a nice touch. We had executive rooms - not sure what the difference is - probably the bathrobe and slippers plus minibar. room was fine, separate toilet in corridor as is the norm in Novotels, while bathroom opened onto the bedroom. Bath and separate shower cubicle. Main room, and bathroom not the largest but fine, toilet room however was very small. Air con worked very well and kept room to the very low temperature I like. Free wifi throughout which worked very well and still kept me connected while waiting in the street outside for local colleagues to collect us. Breakfast buffet was included in our room price, and was an excellnt buffet, with a very wide range of items. One of the best breakfast buffets I have had. Would happily chose this hotel again
The public parking near the hotal was pretty bad (very steep ramp and relatively small parking spaces, hence best avoided with the sportier type of car). Dinner at the restaurant was cold to start with and then, after sending it back, it was overcooked and the fish dry. The breakfast in the room was below expectations too since half the items I'd asked for weren't there, despite them being listed as an option. The gym is tiny. There were stains and holes in the carpet, the curtains were stained too. It should be said that the bed was really comfortable though.
I usually stay at Sofitels just to make sure of the quality of service. On a motorcycle trip and for a 1 night stop over I thought that going 1 star lower should not make a huge difference (specially that there is no Sofitel in Lille). Now why one star makes such a big difference? old hotel, not even capable of having a fresh squeezed orange juice or a non saggy gaufre! This hotel only deserve 2 stars even so the personal was extremely friendly.
excellent breakfast. good parking place very near to the hotel . very good location near the center and the old city. many good places to eat nearby and small coffee shops and bars for drinking and mingling with locals.
Quiet And Nice hotel very near the old city center. Modern And Well equiped rooms. Comfortable beds. Breakfast expensive for what is offered. Communication at the reception about the breakfast was not clear.
