The price of the room was simply high and for this upon arrival the room was not clean, dust was present in the coins and some strange stains on different places in the room. The room seemed to have been renovated ages ago. What also surprising was is that the daily cleaning is not included in the price and is subject to extra fees. The breakfast was poor for a price of 10 EUR/person, you can eat better for less price in the Brioche Dorée or the Paul on the coin. The saddest thing is that this hotel would be marvellous with its location, with the view from its rooms if it should be renovated and maintained and if the guests would receive the normal services for their money, as it is usual in other hotels.
I am staying here for almost 2 months and after 2 days I already know it was a wrong choice. I found that there is no cable Internet (ADSL) connection, even if they have it mentioned on website and in Guest Information. Lady at the reception told me only: "I'm sorry, it won't work, you need to use Wi-Fi.". And Wi-Fi is terrible... Seriously I've never used such bad Wi-Fi. The connection is unstable and it is lost every 5-10 minutes. I think I will need to use my mobile phone data transfer for the rest of the stay. Never again.
I had an unexpected overnight stay in Lille following some passport difficulties and travel rescheduling. Citadines was helpful with a late booking, a late checkin and an early checkout. The staff were very friendly. The apartment is very well located for the 2 Lilles train stations I needed. The studio apartment was very spacious clean and comfortable and I would have been happy to stay longer.
I was really dissapointed with our stay in Citadines hotel in Lille. We had to wait 2 hours for the room (after the possible check -in time), we were really tired after the trip and waited all the time in the hall. Even though we asked a lot of times about the room, they didn't care. Rooms were quite big and comfortable, but the breakfast quite poor.
Great location by the Eurostar station and close to the city centre and Gare de Lille train station for closer trips (Roubaix's Le Piscine highly recommended!). Check-in and out was smooth and easy. Our room had a beautiful view of Lille from a big window across the entire side of the studio room. Comfy bed, clean, simple. Most amenities met. Couple glitches as our first kettle was broken (promptly replaced) then by the end of our stay the replacement kettle also broke. One lamp wasn't working, and our fridge was making funny noises during the night. The room's windows didn't open (possibly for safety on the 12/f) which meant ventilation wasn't great and felt stuffy, especially for a summer stay (fan was useful but not super effective). Otherwise, a pleasant stay and location is super convenient. By the big shopping centre Euralille with a massive grocery store in the basement. An easy stroll into the city centre for plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants.
We booked 2 serviced apartments for 7 of my family. The apartments seems clean and acceptable on arrival. My mother and 2 daughters stayed down the corridor in another apartment, there was not enough crockery etc and calls were made to correct. We had a wedding to go the the next day and the first night, my mother and daughters were covered in about 15 mosquito bites, and they had spent the night with the windows closed, swatting the mosquitos. The next day, they complained to the receptionist, who apologized and handed them a plug in. The next night, the same happened, adding a further 15/20 bites each. By this time they all had swollen, painful welts all over their bodies! We complained to the receptionist, who apologized, said that there was little she could do as she was the only member of staff in that day?? She had no other apartments, but could offer a 2 bed room for the 3 of them. So we moved everything over, and my daughter slept on the floor in our room for the night. On looking at the plug in that we were given, they hadn't taken the internal seal off the plug in either. The next morning, when checking out after our 3 night stay, we were told by the deputy, that they already knew about the problem!! unbelieveable, that they hadn't advised us. They say that as there was lots of rain, the flat roof owned by the Supermarket was to blame, and they had repeatedly asked for them to address the problem, and this was ignored. She said that they have informed the Mayor of Lille. So WHY were we sold the room? Why were we not advised about the problem? Also, the lady advised that there were other rooms that we cold have taken, but we were wrongly advised. Adding insult to injury, we were offered 1 night refund on the 1 apartment. Needless to say, I am in the process of requesting a full refund on the 1 apartment that was infested. .
We booked this hotel next to Euroville and the Eurostar train station for its convenience. Lille is a nice city and it is easy to get around on foot. The hotel room, on the 8th floor, was well appointed but without AC, therefore the windows must be opened for ventilation. During the early evening the room filled with mosquitoes. The tiny pests kept us awake for most of the night and we had many, many bites over our bodies. These became more evident as the week progressed, many becoming infected. The next morning, after carrying our heavy luggage down 8 floors because the elevator was out of order (no notice posted), the reception said we should have come down, in the middle of the night, to get some spray. They also took no responsibility for not putting notices on the elevator doors on the upper floors.
Location was PERFECT BUT Staff shows unwillingness to share about the city. No help was offered when we asked. Not even a map was available. NO air-con = NO sound proofing Kettle was not working. Had to replace with another. Cooking utensils were not well equipped. Only a miserable tiny pot was available for cooking in the cabinet despite having a fully equipped kitchen.
I had previously booked an AirBnB apartment for our trip to Lille, but decided it was too far from the city centre, so chose Citadines. We have stayed with Citadines before in Paris, and you know you're going to get good quality (wish I could say the same for the (un)lucky dip of AirBnB). We had a clean comfortable studio on the 12th floor, quiet and looking over the Eurostar terminal. Comfy bed, well equipped kitchen area (we cooked every night) and - joy - a bath. Irritatingly the toilet is separate, but that was the same for all the properties on our trip. Not far from the old town, and with both the Gare Lille Flandres and Eurostar next door, it's convenient for travel. Carrefour supermarket a short walk down the street in the Euralille shopping centre. We came by car and used the underground parking garage at €15 per day - if you email them before your stay they will give you the codes to get into the car park - two sets of numbers, you put both into the keypad to raise the door. You then use the second set to gain access to the Citadines lift. Very secure and trouble free.
Don't go there during summer time, no air-conditioning and the air-flow is bad, just making the sleep impossible. Going there during winter period is much more recommended, it's warm there. You got pretty much everything you need.
