The whole experience of booking a party at this hotel was not professional. I paid a deposit in October which they didn't take out of my account until the balance was due and then, because it didn't come out when I thought it did it made me overdrawn. Then on the day when I rang to give menu choices for all the party, the man on the phone said in quite an unapologetic way, " I was just about to ring you, its cancelled". I couldn't understand for a second what he was telling me. I had booked a mini bus for which we all had to pay a deposit. Two people had booked time off work. We had all bought our outfits and then to be told I am sorry but we are not going ahead. It was by that late date, too late to book anything else, we lost our deposit for the taxi. I was so upset I cried when I came off the phone. It is disgusting to run an event like this, letting people down like that is not on. It cost the whole party £5 each, not to mention a wasted outfit.

Parkinson's UK East Midlands Research Forum, Saturday 18/11/17 Feedback from attendees was extremely positive about the Link Hotel with comments such as “excellent, easy to find, plenty of parking, good facilities, excellent food and good service”. Overall the venue provided very good organisation, food and general helpfulness. The staff at both the hotel and their imago event organisers prior to the Forum were all very helpful and interested in getting it right. Well done.

If you look at my profile you will see I have reviewed The Link before, but this visit made me want to do it again.Upon arrival reception was very busy with guests checking in, so I joined the back of the queue near the entrance door. That doesn't sound like a good start does it? Not an issue I was at the front and checked in within seven eight minutes max, by the friendly and efficient young ladies on reception Sam(girl Sam) & Anna. My room was spacious clean warm with a bed big enough for the whole family plenty of Tea Coffee and hot Chocolate making facilities on the desk. After sorting myself out I when down for a drink and something to eat. I was welcomed at the bar by Sam who had now jumped onto the bar as reception had quietened down.Something all the staff do multi task rather than see a customer wait. I ordered food and drinks for which I was offered a table in the Lounge bar or restaurant. I opted to stay in the bar. While waiting for my food to arrive which couldn't have taken more than about fifteen minutes Freshly cooked and piping hot, I was delighted to see Patrick come through. I first meet Patrick at Burleigh Court The Link's sister hotel his primary job is barman and his product knowledge is outstanding, he is friendly always has time to chat and always very professional. My first couple of hours pretty well sums my entire four nights at The Link every member of staff was outstanding in their friendliness customer service and desire to help. Being mid December it was Christmas party season this is not an issue at The Link, my first night I had an early night after my journey about 10pm I never heard a sound from the other guests. On the second and third nights it was a different story again, never heard a sound but different as I had a party of my own bearing in mind I'm a lone traveller while drinking in the bar, service was as always prompt and the staff chatty even though there was a very large party going on in the room next door and the staff were very busy.As the night when on the party finished the staff when home and were replaced by Jay and Sam (boy Sam) the night porters. While tidying the party room and preparing it for the next night and carrying out there other duties caring for any late arrivals and attending to a guests that needed assistance, they still maintained the excellent customer service I had received all evening. I would also like to mention Charlotte who I meet on my last night. Charlotte is quite a new member of staff at The Link but already she has fallen into the same pit of excellence as all the other staff. As Sunday night was quiet we had a good chat while I waited for some friends to pick me up. Charlotte again ever the professional was friendly and genuinely interested in our conversation. I can't finish this review without mentioning Shell and Abi two old hands at The Link who on Friday morning fully embraced National Christmas Jumper Day both full of the joys of the Christmas season despite being the target of all my jumper jokes. I look forward to seeing Mickey And Minnie again next year Shell. They are two very festive mice.

First the good bits: The hotel is excellently situated, being a around a mile from J23 of M1, and simplicity itself to find. The main(ish) road at the front of the hotel is also a bus route, with a bus into town every ten minutes or so during the day. If you fancy stretching your legs, it's a couple of miles to Loughborough centre. Got there and realised you've forgotten something? There's a substantial Sainsburys with filling station to be found by continuing straight on. The car park is massive, free, and well lit. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and tidy, and the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. Check-in was a doddle, as was check-out. The room I had was on the ground floor, and found by following a series of long-ish corridors. The room was spotless, well sized, and well appointed. The shower was particularly good. The fly in the ointment: The bed was firmer than I would choose, meaning that I've had better night's sleep. My mattress at home is some space-age thing that cost a fortune though, so for a short break, I can (and did) sleep ok. I see some people have commented on the sound of other guests mooching about the corridors. To be fair, other people can be heard when in the room, but given the proximity to a fairly busy road, it's the _only_ thing I could hear. I didn't use the free wifi, but given the number of repeaters visible, I would expect coverage to be excellent. The restaurant menu also looked to be excellent. In summary - for a short break / overnight, you can't go too far wrong. I think I will have breakfast there next time.

Comfortable stay for one night only which was brightened by the charismatic staff member Patrick Shakesby. Although he was kept busy he was attentive and chatty and made our night! Food was lovely too 👍😊

Comfortable bed, good bedding, spare pillow available in room, clean room, friendly helpful staff. Just what we needed for an overnight stay. The bar was reasonably priced with a good variety of drinks, although some drinks on the blackboard menu were not available

Stayed for one night before collecting our son from university. Parking on site, check in was quick and easy and room clean and very accommodating. We had a drink in the bar which had a nice ambience to it and then decided to eat at the restaurant which was busy. Menu was varied and food arrived promptly and was delicious - very good quality for a hotel restaurant. Steak was well cooked according to request and the fish was also very nice. Would definitely stay again when visiting Loughborough.

Was very impressed with the staff who went out of their way to help us. Perfect for a nights stay for the family when visiting friends. Can't ask for much more for the price, would stay here again next time no questions asked.

Visited this hotel to attend a local wedding. It’s a nice hotel, looks like two floors around 100 rooms. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Decent size room and lovely morning breakfast Only downside is that you can hear foot steps outside and above your room - like thudding - can become annoying after a will bearable for a day or two but no more than that

Stayed here for one night. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was nice. Enjoyed the bar area, nice atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enjoyable, but they ran out glasses fairly quickly.
