Fantail at Bluestone Retreat

Private cabin - access to the spa and bar. Cabin provides a sleeping /chill out area, private bathroom, tea and coffee along with a microwave and fridge, a breakfast of cereal, croissants and fresh farm eggs is provided. Large, sunny private deck and plenty of garden spaces to enjoy. An outdoor kitchen is available adjacent the main house. Take time to relax and unwind in this peaceful rural setting with Lake Ellesmere, one of the premier bird watching areas of NZ right on our doorstep.
The space
We have built this cabin with our recycle, reuse, repurpose ethos that we employ on our little hobby farm. It is full of many environmentally friendly features. We farm sustainably and organically and provide many welcoming spaces for our guests to enjoy which includes a spa area and a bar area along with a large landscaped garden.

We are located in area of outstanding natural beauty but that does mean we are a little off the beaten track. We are a destination and not a motel stop on a main highway. Lake Ellesmere is a premier bird watching area, with many native species in the area.
The cabin is heated and features a kitchen with a refrigerator and a microwave. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, an electric kettle, and an ironing board.

Hospitality at Bluestone
We very much enjoyed Bluestone retreat, especially the friendly hospitality and opportunity to meet the hosts and learn about their community work and activities. The countryside location has interesting walking opportunities and abundant birdlife.
