Stopped for 1 night en route to the South of France. Hotel is tucked away a short walk from the Old Town in a very handsome building. We parked our car in a very tight and small underground parking lot. Check-in was quick and easy. Priviledge room booked was pleasant but the safe was locked and not bolted down. After an hour or so without a fix, the Hotel moved us to a Suite (thank you Antoine!). Huge comfortable room with seperate shower and bath. Couldn't get the A/C to work properly and slept with windows open which proved to be a mistake as the local hot-rod kids used the outside drag for racing into the early hours! WiFi although free, is a little spotty. Breakfast was nice with a reasonable choice. Would consider staying again if we were in the area.
The hotel has a rather grand main entrance and reception area. Our room was quite small but well appointed and quiet with an average size good quality batnroom. It was all well presented, clean with a very comfortable bed and a good shower. Located about 10 minutes walk to the cathedral and very beautiful Old Town - well worth visiting and offers a good selection of restaurants and bars. There is often a very good evening light show set against the cathedral but dates and times seem to vary depending on the season so best check your dates. The hotel staff were very pleasant and welcoming, offering local advice and directions. We will stay again when in town. The hotel has a secure underrground car park (extra charge) - be careful if your car has low ground clearance, particularly between the road and roller door entry/exit point!
Although ideally situated close to the town centre with ample secure parking and a grand entrance.. wasn't too impressed by room we were given for the price we paid. To top it all room service was diabolical.. ordered a cheese platter, a bowl of fruit and a glass of wine ..waited an hour and a half only to be told that he was the only one on duty and was also checking in customers.. unacceptable ...sort your hotel out Mecure.
great hotel, well located, staff friendly, rooms are big and clean, and the internet is fast and free the only minor downside is that my king bed was actually 2 small bed put together, but beside that, i had a very nice stay
I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Le Mans Centre during my business trip. I was able to stay two nights and enjoyed the beautiful hotel and its history. The breakfast in the morning was very nice. I enjoyed the second morning with the scrambled eggs and sausage. The only negative was regarding the bathroom. There were no washcloths, only large towels and hand towels. Also the shower door wasn't able to be closed fully so the water escaped on the floor making getting out an adventure to ensure you didnt slip and fall even with the towel on the floor.
The staff of the hotel were fabulous. They were ever so accomodating and helpful throughout our stay.New Year's Day was our check-out, but with the staff persistently trying to find a taxi service to take us to the station, to no avail, they offered to drive us to the station in their personal car. Thanking you for being so gracious. The breakfast was filling and had good choices. The only drawbacks weere that the bathroom needed to be modernised as when you had a shower, the water leaked onto the floor and also if you were on the side of the bed closest to the window, it was very chilly, even with the heavy drapes.
My wife and I recently traveled to the South West of France and stopped overnight both going and returning from our visit at the Mercure Le Mans Centre. We had read the website and looked at reviews and chose to stop here because it seemed to tick our boxes. On arrival on Saturday we were informed both the bar and restaurant was closed at weekends which we weren't expecting and which changes the Mercure from a hotel into a guest house, certainly not justifying the high room charge. The hotel room was clean and as advertised except for the lack of amenities but comparing this with other hotels of similar cost that we have stayed in this was woefully lacking and generally unimpressive.
Stayed here for one night and whilst only about 10 minutes from Place de la Republique it's down streets that are not well frequented. The staff spoke English. Breakfast was reasonable. I didn't sleep brillantly with a limited number of pillows available. Lighting was good and wifi worked well. The towels were on the small side. What really let it down was the fact that the single lift broke in the evening and was not fixed by the morning. Since I was on the fourth floor this meant taking the back stairs down to the third floor and then swapping to the main stairs which with luggage wasn't brilliant. Check out took a while as two staff were serving a single customer.
We stay 1 night at privilege room, big space, big bed, and free soft drinks Hotel location is good, walk around 5 min to republic square, that square have everything restaurant, supermarket I'm parking at IBIS park location but it's fine
well location with the parking, the room is correctly equipped. The hotel has a little fitness to relax after the hard trip. the staff is helpful. However it is necessary to refresh it, because this hotel is not at the height for a 4 stars
