Bien, mais un peu d’amour necĂ©ssaire

L’hotel est bien pensĂ©. Le design des chambres est bien, avec une terasse et une mezzanine dans la chambre. Par contre le site aurait besoin d’une touche d’amour. Les murs de la chambres Ă©taient tachĂ©s, les matelas durs comme de la roche. Si vous avez le malheur de devoir dormir sur un canapĂ©-lit, vous aurez assurĂ©ment besoin d’un rendez-vous chez le chiro. Les oreillers sont plats comme des crĂȘpes. Pour 1 nuit ou 2 ça le fair. Mais nous avons passĂ© 6 nuits Ă  cet hotel alors nous Ă©tions un peu déçus Ă  ce niveau. Sinon le staff est trĂšs gentil. La piscine est un atout aussi.

We checked out early and switched hotels. Our balcony door opened even when locked, the place was not maintained well, you need to pay for everything, eg. €4 daily charge for access to the room safe. When we checked out the receptionist hadn’t come in for the day, the cleaners said they show up late all the time and we would need to come back to drop off the key and hope the reception was open. There are better hotels nearby.

Pros: kitchenette, beds were comfortable, AC worked well, great view of the ocean, excellent pool, nice patio, amazing restaurant - best food we've had on the entire trip was there, grocery store and multiple restaurants within a 15-min walk. Cons: poor WiFi that rarely worked, barely functional shower (handheld only with very low water pressure and no shower curtain, so very messy); no microwave; a lot of tiny ants everywhere no matter how particular you are about putting away food and cleaning up immediately after you eat; no beach access so you have to walk about 15 minutes to the nearest beach; staff apathetic and not helpful even about basic things like knowing what days their own restaurant is open. Forget about asking them to help you with finding or scheduling any activities or anything like that.

The Sunset was Great. ONLY the Sunset!

It was a holiday weekend and almost everything was closed. You need a car to get around and escape the nightmare of a room. It was dirty, stains on the walls and the bed was filthy and sunken in , in the middle. We wanted to checkout the same night we checked in but we were so tired and the wifi was horrible so we stuck it out. Eventually we checked out early and found a beautiful, clean hotel in the city. Honestly the best thing was the pool and the sunset. You need to make reservations at almost every restaurant, which no one informed us of initially, so we were refused tables because we didn't have reservations even though the restaurants were EMPTY. La Savane Beach was the most amazing part of the vacation. It is truly a no frills hotel, so go in expecting that. Oh and don't expect anyone to give you clean towels, so be prepared to possibly pay seven euros for special blue towels. I would go back to Martinique but I wouldn't stay here. I can normally see the best in every situation but I would never stay here again.

Excellent setting. Great pool. Run down. Ants in room. Smelly. No internal door between bathroom and bedroom (had to walk into my balcony in front of the pool to switch rooms). There are better places. You can skip this one.

The Diamant Beach Hotel in Martinique

This was a great place to experience the Island! Here are the details that I would have loved to know: Taking a taxi from the airport to Diamant will cost you more than you think it should. The cost of our single taxi ride was the same as two days of the rental car we eventually got. (Jumbo car has a desk in the lobby, BTW). It would have been very daunting to try to navigate our way to the hotel at night. The hotel is right at the Eastern most edge of Diamant Beach, the longest beach in Martinique, and the pool, restaurant and bar are all quite nice. Keep in mind, this is a GREAT place to stay in Martinique primarily because of the great views of Diamant bay and Diamant Rock you get from the balcony, the beach, and the pool. But, it is a bit older and not as fancy as many Carribean resorts geared to bring in Americans. It seamed like 99% of the other guests were French. The Hotel's restaurant, "Bord-O", is quite good, if a little overpriced. Actually I think it was the best restaurant we experienced in Martinique. Driving in Martinique was awesome. I loved it. Very tight, winding roads through little towns along the coast, beautiful views the whole way. Yes, it was a bit scary at times dodging crazy local taxi drivers, delivery trucks and the like racing around tight blind corners and round-abouts, but well worth it. I'd recommend doing a few day trips, and spend a day at Les Salines Beach (Best white sand in Martinique, hands down--take a picnic lunch!) and see some of the other towns such as Le Marin, and St. Luce, or up the coast to St Pierre. Try to time your driving to avoid rush-hour in Fort-de-France, which is kind of a nightmare. It can take forever to get through that crazy little city. But Diamant Beach is pretty well suited as a both a destination and as a jumping off point for day trips.

Bon emplacement, mais propretĂ© Ă  amĂ©liorer L’hĂŽtel est trĂšs bien situĂ©, avec une grande piscine offrant une vue magnifique sur le rocher du Diamant. Il y a un restaurant directement sur le site, pratique pour ceux qui prĂ©fĂšrent manger sur place. Sinon, le village du Diamant est facilement accessible Ă  pied, avec plusieurs restaurants, boutiques et une Ă©picerie Ă  proximitĂ©. Les chambres sont spacieuses, ce qui est un bon point. Toutefois, la propretĂ© laissait un peu Ă  dĂ©sirer : l’air climatisĂ© semblait ne jamais avoir Ă©tĂ© nettoyĂ©, et la salle de bain ainsi que la douche n’étaient pas trĂšs accueillantes. Une petite cuisine est disponible sur le balcon, mais elle n’était pas trĂšs propre non plus, donc nous n’avons pas cuisinĂ©. En rĂ©sumĂ©, pour le prix et l’emplacement, c’est un bon choix, mais un rĂ©el effort sur la propretĂ© serait grandement apprĂ©ciĂ©.

Cet hébergement est bien surtout par son emplacement. Nous avons payé pour avoir vue sur la mer et c'était une superbe vue sur le Diamant. Chambre ok, fait le travail. Chambre équipée pour cuisiner, mais trÚs de base... fait le travail aussi poir limiter les dépenses de restaurant. Restaurant Le Grand bleu sur place.. excellent! Personnel super, drinks parfait, nourriture excellente. Situé prÚs de la piscine, ça termine bien les journées aprÚs les visites et la plage.

A FUIR si vous ne voulez pas gĂącher vos vacances!!

.. GĂ©ographiquement l’hĂŽtel est bien situĂ©, bien que la sortie de l’hĂŽtel soit plutĂŽt sportive et dangereuse en voiture avec une grosse pente sans possibilitĂ© de voir si des vĂ©hicules arrivent. La restauration, le restaurant est fermĂ© le lundi le mardi et ouvre le midi du mardi au dimanche et est fermĂ© tous les soirs donc si vous voulez pouvoir y manger il faut se priver de sortir une journĂ©e ou rester dans les environs. Idem il faut oublier les cocktails au bord de la piscine le soir en rentrant de ballade, car la piscine est pleine des clients du restaurant avec qui vous la partagez. La chambre et l’établissement en gĂ©nĂ©ral.. je rĂ©alise plus de 60 nuitĂ©es d’hĂŽtel par an mĂȘme dans un F1 ou un premiĂšre classe les chambres sont mieux ! L’hĂŽtel est vieux ! vĂ©tuste au plus au point ! Le rapport qualitĂ© prix est dĂ©plorable ! Nous avons dut changer de chambre tellement la premiĂšre chambre Ă©tait pitoyable merci au personnel pour sa bonne volontĂ© Ă  limiter les dĂ©gĂąts ! C’est une honte qu’un Ă©tablissement puisse rester ouvert dans de telles conditions ! Tout est bancale, sale ou casse. J’ai pris sur moi pour faire abstraction et ne pas me gĂącher une partie des vacances avec cet Ă©tablissement. Par chance nous poursuivons nos vacances dans un hĂŽtel digne de ce nom ! Je vais m’arrĂȘter lĂ  pour ne pas ĂȘtre insultant. Si j’ai bien un conseil Ă  vous donner FUYEZ vraiment !
