The check- in went smoothly. The facilities were explained properly and a map was provided for us to explore the grounds. I'm just curious on how the toy stuffy privilege goes. While we were queueing 5 families were before us kids in tow. All kids upon checking in got the duck toy stuffy. When it was our turn, we didn't get one. Is there an age cut off who can only receive the toy stuffy? Just want to know. The rooms were huge. The sofabed needs a bit of cleaning. There are enough pillows too. Downside of the room is that the AC is not too cold. The temp says it's 20 deg but it was cooler outside the room considering it was sweltering outside. I know AC system is fixed but that temp in the room was just a tad warm. Breakfast was great too. Staff very nice and accommodating.

Really great stay at Fairmont. Stayed in a Super King with my husband and 9month old. Enough room to place a portacot. Family friendly resort with great facilities. You do usually need to pay for parking $15 per day I believe, but if you are an Accor member you get it for free during your stay.

I have a lot of love for this hotel, we came here a lot when our children were young. The setting is beautiful and the staff are always lovely and very helpful. However revisiting with my now teenage daughter we feel the hotel needs a refresh, better restaurant & food choices at more reasonable prices. Room service breakfast was unavailable and the only option being an all you can eat buffet which we didn’t require. The golf club was closed the night we decided to eat there, Embers Grill is so over priced so we ended up ordering room service dinner which tasted great but was ridiculously expensive for what we had.

Interactions with staff were heartening due to their sincerity and clear commitment to do a job well. My room was all I could have hoped for, clean, quiet and most importantly for me, secure...a mini bar would have been nice..meh ;-) We went during an unseasonal wet but driving up we agreed there was enough on offer that it would not be an issue. There are cosmetic maintenance issues but really...I didn't care, I really enjoyed my stay.

A very friendly staff member attended but did not have the "special key" and could not lock it. We had to secure it with a wooden wedge. The hotel is great for children but noisy and not good for a quiet or romantic getaway. Saying that the childrens train ride and carousel was not operative and the adults bar was closed on Saturday evening with the only alternative a lively pizza parlour. The car parking is not suitable for older people as many of the car parking spaces are on one of the 4 lower levels with about 80 steps and up to 100 metres walk. A great hotel if you have kids, but that's about it.
