We stayed two nights on two separate occasions all booked and paid for in advance as an Accor member. We were on the second floor each time were upgraded to a room and facing the street. The room was spacious and well appointed. But the noise from the street was excessive both times we stayed. Be it the weekend or a weekday the traffic noise starts at 6.00am and around 8.30pm reduces. I realise this is not the hotel fault but I'm mentioning this for others who want to stay at this Sebel. The restaurant was very good and we had breakfasts and dinners there. The food was excellent each time and the staff attentive. The only complaint I have is that they insist of having the street door to the restaurant open even when its 5C outside. So there is a need to wear warm clothing for breakfast. This is the first hotel where I have had to do that. I think I will look into other hotels for our next stay unless I can be guaranteed a room away from the street.
This boutique retreat had a new, fresh feeling about it. The room had a kitchenette and washer and dryer and there was a restaurant on premises as well. Launceston has a beautiful downtown and this property is within walking distance of all that it has to offer. The hotel is also close to Cataract Gorge, a popular attraction in the area. Last, but not least, the hotel staff was first rate.
Great room location staff and restaurant - highly recommended. Staff excellent and location close to attractions. Needed more time there Had suit room with 2 queen bedrooms , kitchen etc. which was much mote than expected.
My wife and I stayed 2 separate nights prepaid for the Cradle Mountain Walk. The second night was a 2 bedrooms flat as the hotel was fully booked on Monday 19Feb2018 that contained a washing machine and dryer, which we did not have for the first night stay in a 1 bedroom flat. The machines were useful to launder our hiking gear. Room, bedding and towels were clean but staff services can be improved perhaps in terms of attitude as they thought you knew the city and the hotel was fully booked anyway. Sound insulation is dubious that upstairs toilet flushing can be heard in the middle of the night if you are not a deep sleeper. 15 minutes walk can reach the water front for various restaurants.
Excellent! Reception Staff, room presentation and amenities, hotel location, facilities, restaurant’s food, everything faultless. Breakfast was the highlight, Salmon corn salsa tacos one day, salmon duo the other, both were absolutely delicious and served by attentive warm welcoming staff. Can’t wait to return
Really nice apartment room, well acquainted with laundry room, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. Great for the extended family to stay in, or someone looking for some extra room. A little noise from the street, with almost a whole side of the apartment being windows, and a very warm apartment also, however this doesn't detract too much from it's charm. Small weights room with a treadmill gets the job done. Massive penthouse if you're willing to splash out, and some of the loveliest and most helpful staff in hospitality. Don't get breakfast downstairs, however. Go somewhere in the city instead. No better than you can do at home. Overall I'll be back next time I need to stay in Launceston.
You will find this hotel to be clean and quiet. A plus for travellers like ourselves, there were the free laundry facilities on the first floor. This was most appreciated after being up in Cradle Mountain where we endured torrential rainfall for almost two days in a row. Did not use the restaurant in the hotel but it looked like a popular destination nonetheless. Only suggestion is for the hotel is to standardize the normal industry standard for Wifi which had a low limit especially for posting pictures from this excellent part of the world. In closing I would consider that to be the “classic first world problem”. Yes I would definitely stay here again.
All aspects of the hotel experience were excellent - from the reception, the local advice, and the rooms were spacious and well equipped. We had a dinner and a breakfast at the hotel restaurant - had a good variety on the menu, and incorporated some beautiful fusions of Asian and eastern dishes - even in terms of the breakfast omelette. Short walk to city area, safe location.
The room was well serviced throughout our few days stay @ The Sebel. The staff were genuinely friendly and the restaurant does truly terrific. Had multiple breakfast and a dinner and on all occasions the experience was great. Dinner was really tasty and mouth watering.
Such a wonderful place to stay. The room was good, staff are amazing and remembered us from our last stay 5 months ago. Food in the restaurant cannot be missed. The Sebel will always be our first choice in Launceston.
