Very handy for Festivale

We chose Commodore Regent as it is across the road from City Park in Launceston, where Festivale is held. We were very happy with our choice. The motel has been upgraded and is very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was very comfortable and the rainfall shower was amazing!! There were no towels in the room but I left a message with reception and they were brought to the room very quickly. Airconditioning worked exceptionally well as the weekend was very, very hot! Very handy to the CBD and heaps of on-site parking.

Receptionless so did not meet the staff. Multi day but room is not scheduled for cleanings on weekends. There was “Festivale 2025” across the street which played decent but liud music until 11pm. It met our needs

We arrived in the evening knowing that this hotel had no reception, signage was poor and it took a while to find the safe where the key to the room was located. We were in room 2. The door didn’t close properly and was in poor condition so we used the chain for security but it was very flimsy and didn’t provide comfort to us that we were safe. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, dust on the furniture and the mugs weren’t overly clean. The bathroom has been renovated and looks quite nice but don’t move the shower head or the water from where the head connects will spray out all over the bathroom and flood the floor and wet your belongings that you have placed on the counter, including the only pair of pyjamas you brought with you. Yep. There is nobody there on the weekend so too bad if you want a fresh towel or need anything. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing we have ever slept on, it was like sleeping on a hard floor and my back is still hurting from it. We have never been happier to check out of a hotel!

Horrible Place!! When we arrived at Commodore Regent on 13th of January, 2025, we found a note on the desk saying the air conditioner was broken. There was no communication regarding this issue prior to our arrival. I called the person on call three times asking whether it would be possible to offer us a different room with a working air conditioner. The lady kept saying she would come back to check availability and get back to me, but never called back. It was a hot day in Launceston and the room temperature was 35 degrees. We could not have a good night sleep because of the heat. When we went through check-out on the following day, I spoke to a lady in charge who promised us a $100 refund as a compensation. I requested to get the refund on the spot but she said I had to go through Expedia and she would proceed with the refund once she received the request through Expedia. I lodged a refund request through Expedia. Expedia got back to me saying they were not able to obtain an approval from the property manager for a refund after multiple attempts and refund could not be granted. It looked like that the manager was only trying to dismiss us by offering us a "compensation or refund" they never prepared to pay. STAY AWAY from this place!!!

HAPPY for our staying

We stayed 5 nights in total. We were pretty happy with our stay. One of our room had nice park view and very comfortable. The other room had some ants but also comfortable. The hotel didn't have reception all the time but phone contact was easy and check-in had no issue. If we came back to Launceston we would like to stay again.

The room was spacious and there was good cutlery and crockery provided. Ample tea and coffee Convenient to town and the city park opposite is beautiful. The hot tap over the bathroom sink screamed when turned on. Rey noisy for guests. Face washers would have been welcome if provided

The room was very neat and appears to have had an upgrade at some stage. There were a few minor things that it did not have that most motels/hotels offer. No microwave, no plates or bowls, no knives or forks, no milk in fridge for a coffee or tea, no toaster. There was also a hole in the sliding door to the bathroom.
