The Cromwell

The Cromwell is nice, they updated what I think used to be imperial palace. The rooms are stylish. That said, at checkout they hit me with a $39 “resort fee” that nobody mentioned when booking or when we checked in. No idea what benefit I got from that, and it raises the overall cost of stay to a point where a lot of other great hotel options come into play. I understand resort fees, but this was far and away the highest I’ve paid, and we got nothing for it. That didn’t feel good, and we won’t go back.

Booked at the Cromwell because it was new or so I thought. It was an old casino next to Bally's that was newly renovated. Nice I like that. You could still smell the smoke imbedded in the walls of the old casino with a new face on it. Booked both rooms under my name. Not a big deal I thought but it was. When we got there, we explained the situation and gave credit cards. Coffee stations on 5th and 7th floor - Love it! Most of the service was excellent - ordered room service - food was delicious. Ordered up feather pillows - prompt and friendly. Liked it so much thought we'd check on rates for January with downstairs, turns out you get better rates going outside the hotel to a 3rd party booking place like Orbitz. That doesn't make any sense. Didn't much care for house keeping coming in my room when the " do not disturb" was on the door. At the end of it, found out that my credit card was charged for both rooms incidentals. How does that happen????? Besides the inconveniences of service, the place was pretty pleasant. Rooms were very cozy, beds comfortable and you had full control of the thermostat. For a very frequent traveler that's profound happiness. So, all and all - you take the good with the bad or inconvenient.

Bed is hard as a rock, pillow is a neck breaker, and the amount of noise is terrible .

I was excited to stay at this hotel before arriving. I was booked and was confirmed for according to Orbtiz. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told from front desk that they had overbooked so they could not take me in but that they could accommodate me at their other available chain hotel, the Linq which they would comp for. I had just arrived from my flight, taxi to the hotel...was exhausted and upset with this that all I could do was cry upon this news. If I had wanted to stay there at the Linq in the first place I would have book there. Basically they downgraded me even though it was their fault for overbooking. Apparently this is called being "walked" and this is the first time in my 15 years of traveling that this happened to me. I hope no one has to go thru this experience. They claimed that they would refund me as well for this inconvenience but it's been over a month and I still have not seen that. Overall just poor service.

The staff and overall experience was more than my expectations. Definitely will be back!

Excellent location and accommodations. This hotel is for the grown and sexy with the modern and cool interior design, the shower alone is worth the stay with its very unique surprise....trust me!! Great service on check-in, good gambling action, good eats and drinks at casino bars, cafe, and restaurant. Definitely will stay again and recommend this cool hotel!

Can't really ask for more from a hotel for the price! The room was furnished beautifully, the hotel wasn't loud for being on the strip, and it was so conveniently located! We also got complimentary in-room breakfasts because of the orbitz VIP status and it was delicious! Its definitely going to be on our top hotels list for the future.

Our room had a blood stained pillow case and garbage in it. Rooms are small as well. Staff was good except at drais beach club which was awful. Food was awesome with room service. Overall a below average vegas experience compared to other places I've been.

Loved this hotel. The casino is great and decent priced tables to gamble at. Giada's was really nice and yummy food. I loved the boutique hotel and staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The coffee bars on the 5th and 7th floors were LEGIT! loved it and got addicted! Definitely will stay here again.

At first Look the hotel is beautiful and boutique in style, with a great location. The staff are friendly but that's where the positive ends. were unable to effectively put each of our Resort credits toward each of our two rooms so we had to talk to the front desk every time we used them. Then we were put on the 8th floor just below the pool top party venue and our room would vibrate until 3:30 or 4 in the morning with the sound of music. Then there were the loud partiers walking through the hallway after the club closed and fighting. I almost called security one night and was informed by another patron that she did call security and she was on a lower floor as she was threatened by some of the other visitors when asking them to take it to their rooms. Then there was the ever-present smell of weed to which one of the security managers on our floor tried to tell us he didn't smell anything. Maybe he was the one smoking weed and our friends room while we were out? We will not be staying at this hotel again...Bellagio here we come. I normally don't write reviews that I didn't pay attention to the 8th floor comment in an earlier review and I should have.

Great experience looking forward to another visit

This was a top notch experience from the moment I pulled into the parking structure as I was in a work truck not appropriate for valet service. I was not in Las Vegas for pleasure but decided to stay an extra night to rest after a couple days of business in the metro Las Vegas area. The hotel is small and very elegant. If you recall this was Bill's Gambling saloon a few years back. The front desk was professional, accommodating , cool, and extremely polished. The casino was "hip" with wonderful modern styling that rivals any of the massive high end casinos. The suite that I was very graciously upgraded to was nothing short of spectacular. The steam bath, the soaking tub, and over 700 sq ft of elegance. I will no doubt be staying at The Cromwell again. *The only complaint I have a trivial but its kind of ridiculous. They charge for the TV service music channel! Its advertised as "24 hours of rock out to your favorite music". With the free WiFi its not really a problem but I silly inconvenience.

Convenient location. Walkable distance to The Linq, monorail station and other major hotels and casinos. Safe and clean room with comfy bed and decent shower facilities and amenities. Friendly staff (reception, security, housekeeping, bell). Good coffee available for free.

This hotel was very nice to stay at period I can't even begin to say how awesome the staff is. They are amazing. The decor of the hotel really isn't for me but that's actually being a little picky. The hotel was very clean. The hotel is laid out nicely and very easy to navigate. Small thing that I liked was that if you needed ice they would actually deliver it to your room. All and all nice clean hotel with great staff.

Great boutique hotel on the strip. Across from Bellagio... half the price!

Used a credit card to check in that I had not used in several months. The very next day I got a Fraud Alert from my bank that $12,000 worth of charges has maxed out the card! (Not direct charges from the Cromwell). While my bank and I cancelled the card, and they will investigate the fraudulent charges and I'm pretty confident that I won't be responsible for them......that's not the pint here. After getting of the line with the bank, I called Cromwell management to inform them of what I explained above. The manager's response was more than underwhelming......it was discourteous and condescending. You would have thought I asked him to send up a concierge with $12,000 cash!! I thought I was providing the Cromwell with important info....that a guest's credit card had obviously been hacked as a direct result of offering it for payment at their front desk. What I has told....three times......by this unprofessional manager was and I quote " Las Vegas is the fraud capital of the world", unquote..... and "you know people have RFID readers and can scan your card right through your wallet" (I have RFID shields on all my cards, and there were several cards in my wallet...yet only the one I presented at the Cromwell has hacked). He reluctantly sent security up to take a statement " we can do it later"....no, I said, we will do it right now. Security personnel was professional, took the statement and at least feigned concern.

Clean room with amazing decorative flair. Hotel staff was extremely nice. This place is super classy!

excellent service from hotel staff to the room attendant to the Roulette dealer. Great hotel. Clean and safe.

Efficient check-in, a big plus over the big hotels where the check-in process can be painful with a long wait given the masses of people. That being said, i did have to wait a little until the room was ready as I arrived at around 12:30, and check-in is at 4. However, the staff was courteous and was able to get a room available for me in about 35 minutes. The decor and furnishings are attractive both in the room as well as in the lobby. The complimentary breakfast for Total Rewards customers was greatly appreciative, and the food was tasty. The pastry basket was yummy, although after two days, the rich chocolate on the banana muffin was too much. There is gaming at the hotel, but the smaller size makes it feel more cozy, and which was welcomed as i was there on business, and needed a little more quite. The one bad side was that I was on the 8th floor (top floor), and at night with the Drai's Nightclub, my room was shaking. If you have a hard time sleeping, this could be a big problem.

Our room was extremely dark and depressing! Light bulbs were so dim and weak , you could not even read in the two light fixtures next to beds and chair.Very dismal and depressing. Hotel is extremely small with no lobby or small cafe etc.. Loved your free coffee though. I would not rebook another stay at TheCromwell.
