HOTEL From 24th April to 5th May 2018 Room 1724 1st room air conditioning was broken. 2nd room wasn't a sea view 3rd room had double bed and the bathroom extraction fan wasn't working. My partner had many bites on her legs that we felt were flea bites but didn't find any fleas. Sitting in reception waiting to depart to Lanzarote airport we saw a flea on my trousers. Some of the lounge furniture was threadbare and the cane chairs were damaged. Many of the poolside beds are very uncomfortable because the 'mattresses' are old and have stretched and sagged. The hotel is very run down and in need of updating. I would say that the breakfast and lunchtime food was adequate but the evening food was, in my opinion, below average for a 4* hotel The animation team and evening entertainment were good and the floor shows above average.
Have recently returned from a 7 night break at this hotel. I cannot fault any aspect of my experience, the reception staff (always helpful) the dining room staff all friendly and attentive, and for both the breakfast and dinner the choice was amazing and always replenished as soon as anything looked as though it was running out.The weather was a bit mixed but that wasn't their fault and did not detract from a great break.
Stayed here again recently and hotel as good as ever. The food is excellent and varied - best value available is partial board. The room cleaning is top quality and staff in all areas are first class with special n mention of Josef in Cocktail bar who makes the best Bloody Marys on the planet !, Juliaj in the Dining Room whose cheerful personality would enhance any meal and Sean at front desk who was most helpful and pleasant to us at all times. The only qualification which I would have is the lack of Wi-Fi in most of the Hotel which should be standard in this day and age and extra charge for safe and fridge which I feel should be included in the initial charge particularly in the more expensive suites in the Hotel.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel , for a week in March, on a all inclusive basis, The food is amazing, plenty of choice even for the fussiest of eaters, my husband is on a gluten free diet and always found plenty of choice. service was excellent, very friendly staff. Beds so comfortable, English TV inc BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4. Evening entertainment: very good. Location : perfect, beside the beach and a 5/10 minute walk to plenty shops, bars etc in Puerto Carmen, Very flat suitable for cyclists. Cant wait to return.
Stayed here back in March 2018 for 4 nights with a few lads for a bit of a chil out and escape the British cold and snow. If honest I couldn't fault it and it. Food was spot on, drinks were fine for an AI but we didn't have that many as we ventured to all the bars available. Couldn't really fault any food from breakfast to evening meal, plenty of choice of good old English breakfast, cereals, breads and fruits, In the evening there was plenty of meats, seafood and other dishes to keep you going. Be warned though that gents must wear long trousers in the restaurant for evening meal. We didnt know this on our first evening visit and explained we never knew but wouldnt be to long which was ok with the staff but was asked to make sure next time we had longer leg attire on for the evening. In my opinion this is just stupid in a hot climate as long as you have smart shorts on (No football or swimming shorts) and a polo or shirt I dont see any issues and wish these places would stop with the nonsense. Staff friendly enough apart from Mr Miserable on the evening bar one night. The hotel is dated and could do with a refurb in area's but one thing I did notice was it was very clean and that's important to me. It's right at the end of the strip which in my opinion was a great place to be situated. Bars, shop and curry house in walking distance what more do you want. Bollywood Indian restaurant is well worth a visit and so is the Everest further down the strip, brilliant food. The strip itself when I was here was low key but we enjoyed it without all the hassle of high season. All the staff were friendly and the beer was cheap as chips. St Patrick's parade was interesting, loud and colourful and good to watch. Never really been a fan of PDC as stayed in Playa Blanca before and thought it was nicer but all in all PDC was spot on and surprised me maybe as it was low key in March but I will certainly be back to PDC and the Vik San Antonio.
The food in the restaurant was good & varied and very pleasant service The cleaning service was spot on and excellent greeting at reception desk It’s an old hotel with lots of steps which is nice when you want a bit of exercise but it’s all a bit tired. The one gripe I’d have is paying for a safe & a fridge while it’s already installed in the room 🤷♀️
Stayed for a week for my birthday with my other half Hotel very clean good choice of food all well cooked and presented. Room very comfy cleaned every day Snack /poolbar served fresh cooked food always good. Lovely jester on my birthday caver and fruits
Have just returned from 7day stay at San Antonio where we travelled in a party of 8 friends. We had a wonderful stay and could not fault the really helpful, friendly staff, the spotless rooms, and delicious food. The pools and pool area had plenty of sunbeds and an unusual heated salt water pool. The entertainment was really good, with the bar staff friendly and efficient, and a very special thanks must go to the gorgeous Emma who was amazing. Although it is a little tired in some areas, it was kept spotlessly clean and tidy. The only small issue is the slightly outdated method of having to sign and show cards for our all inclusive food and drinks which was a bit of a pain, especially as there were 8 of us, and probably quite time consuming for the staff. We would certainly visit this hotel again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone wanting a friendly, relaxing holiday.
This was our third stay at the San Antonio and as usual the standards were as good. The room with a good view, the dining room had varied and good choices, the evening entertainment was good, also all the staff were as friendly and pleasant as usual. We also received a bottle of Cava and fruit delivered to our room with compliments from the management which was a nice gesture. We will be returning to this hotel hopefully next year.
Stayed at this hotel for 10 days in mid April 2018. The hotel is only 20 minutes by transfer coach from the airport, and although you can see the aircraft flying in and out from the hotel, there is very little noise. Accomodation is a good quality , spotlessly clean and serviced daily. Outside pools are heated by solar pool and are an absolute delight. A very big plus for this hotel is the quality of the food served. Our stay was half board although full board is available. On arrival at the hotel, we were told that as we were half board, should we wish to eat out for dinner one evening, we could do so and they would swap our dinner for lunch at the hotel so that we would not lose out Breakfast is open "help yourself buffet style" with a vast selection of hot and cold dishes on offer. The quality of the food is of a very high standard, noticeably so in respect of sausages, bacon beans etc. ie clearly this hotel does not cut corners by supplying "economy brands". Even the condiments are of proprietiory high quality brands. And .......;get this ......open bottles of chilled Cava on ice for you to help yourself if you fancy a "champagne" breakfast or to mix with the chilled orange juice to make your own buckfiz! ( Never seen that before ! ) The only fault at breakfast concerned the fried eggs. The chef would generally crack open about 2 dozen eggs at a time ,placing them on the hot plate to fry. However , he or she was also responsible for replenishing the breakfast cereal dispensers when getting "low". Consequently, by the time the cereal dispensers had been topped up or replenshed the eggs on the hot plate were "well fried" and largely inedible. Evening dinners are outstanding and again, top quality foodstuffs on offer. I tend to enjoy meet dishes and during our stay we had choices of sirloin steak, leg of lamb, roast beef , chicken, duck, veal, prawns, crayfish tails etc etc. Starters and sweets are all equally of an exceptional quality, This is a superb venue hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. We hope to return , just as soon as the piggy bank will allow. Difficult to find any criticism, although as a 4 star hotel was disappointed to find that we had to pay for the use of the in room "safe" , together with an additional charge to use the fridge. Our 10 day stay cost 31 Euros for the use of the safe and fridge. The hotel do offer to supply tea making facilities in the room at 6.50 Euros per day. We had our own travel kettle and tea bags, and the local Spar shop about 300 metres from the hotel will sell pasteurised milk for about 1.50E per litre. One point to note however is that whilst the hotel is right on the beach, the beach itself is a public beach and the sunbeds and parasols are rented out by the local council. 2 sunbeds +1 parasol = 12 Euros. Having said that the hotel has loads of sunbeds all over the grounds and close enough to the beach area, to still enjoy a beach like ambiance experience. In the end, despite the hotel allowing us the opportunity to eat out if we so wished, we chose to "eat in". The food is so very very good , and my wife and I both found that the loose fitting clothing that we packed at the beginning of the holiday , were becoming more than a little tight towards the end !
