We booked this hotel after reading the excellent reviews. I emailed ahead asking for a room with sunny balcony as we were celebrating my husband's birthday on day of arrival and good enough, this is what we had, along with beautiful full on sea view. The hotel is on the promenade leading to Playa Blanca, so right by the ocean looking across to Fuerteventura. Lovely. Very clean hotel, pleasant staff, great wifi, air con and free safe. Towels big but could have been fluffier! Toiletries great. Comfortable bed with good pillows. Appreciated turn down service with fresh towels and chocs on pillow. Plenty of sun beds and good pool towels which could be changed each day if required. We stayed half board, the food on the whole was of a very good standard, even some of the desserts (which can sometimes look better than they taste). Not keen on the evening entertainment, some was reasonable but some pretty dire. Two reasons only nearly 5 star rating. Firstly, we holiday abroad this time every year to celebrate our birthdays. This time mine was 3 days before arrival and husbands on the day of arrival but his birthday was not acknowledged at all (hotel receptions usually gather this info from the passports). This is the first time ever ( and I'm talking 5,4 and 3 star hotels) that the hotel has not presented a bottle of wine or fizz or cake or bowl of fruit as a little celebration. Come on Iberostar- it wouldn't cost a lot and would be a mark of thanks that we choose your hotel to celebrate! The other really sore point- on our final day, before departure I ordered what was described as a 'traditional club sandwich' from the snack bar by the pool near the ocean. It was dreadful. Obviously it couldn't be decided to serve as toasted or not, as it was lightly toasted in some parts only. Very little to no filling in the layers, at best consisted of limp lettuce, tiny piece of chicken, fat (presume from bacon?) and mushrooms (whoever heard of mushroom on club sandwich?) I left most of it and told the waitress of my dissatisfaction. Admittedly she offered me something else- complimentary. But I really could not have faced any more sub standard food. Disappointing to say the least. .
My husband and I stayed for 11 days between 26th Nov to 7th Dec. At reception we paid for an upgrade to Star Prestige. It was worth every penny! The hotel has recently gained a 5-star rating and I am not surprised as we were immediately transported to a luxurious world with excellent food, drink and a quality of hotel service that is unsurpassed in our experience. We are seasoned travellers who have stayed in many top class hotels and cruise ships, but for sheer attention to detail and value for money this is the best! Location - Ideally situated on the Playa Blanca sea front and promenade with pleasant walks to the Marina, shops etc. My husband also climbed a nearby volcano and still made it back for the bar opening at 10:00am. Food - For foodies this place is paradise as the food is top quality with show cooking of the highest standard. Beware the Cava at breakfast as it is highly addictive! Drink - In Star Prestige you have access to top branded products such as Black Label whisky, Bombay Sapphire gin, champagne etc. Cleanliness and hygiene - I am very particular but could find no fault. From early morning staff can be seen constantly cleaning, polishing and emptying rubbish bins. The pool areas, sunbeds and all toilets are regularly cleaned and maintained with fresh pool towels available daily if required. Rooms - Large, ultra modern and well equipped with the most comfortable beds we've slept in. Our balcony contained 2 rocking chairs where we sat in the evening sipping our G&T's and taking in the wonderful sea view. Entertainment - Plenty to do during the day if you prefer to be active. In the evening we enjoyed a Beatles tribute act, an ABBA tribute act who were excellent and had everyone on their feet, and a brilliant Il Divo quartet, all wonderful singers. Staff - They can make or break a holiday experience. However at the Lanzarote Park they are obviously carefully selected as they are invariably polite and helpful. A special mention to Maggie from the animation team and Garcia in the restaurant for their warm personalities and unfailing good humour. In particular I would like to thank the Manager Gianmaria who assisted me with a minor issue. He was most helpful and despite being busy went out of his way to resolve the matter to my satisfaction. They are all great ambassadors for Iberostar. Indeed it is the staff who have convinced us to make this our regular winter destination. I doubt if we could find a hotel to better the Lanzarote Park.
This hotel is now even better since they completed the total refurb. I liked the prestige area, especialy the adult only dining area. Still a great position for getting arround as this is on the flat. Great for anyone using mobility aids, as they can get out and abot very easily. Would recomend this hotel.
Just returned from a fabulous holiday in the Iberostar Lanzarote park, Playa Blanca. We were at the hotel for three weeks in November, excellent food and very friendly staff, from reception to the entertainment team, the chefs dining staff and cleaners. A special thanks to Rafael and also Marcia who looked after us so well. We enjoyed an upgrade to Star prestige on our last week and one of the great things was the kings size bed, the only suggestion I would make to improve would be the option of providing double beds in some of the double rooms (at the moment this is only an option in star prestige)
Excellent hotel; perfect for a family with children. Low season means reduction in snacking options, days without entertainment etc ... Location is great, so is the food. Recently refurbished which gives a nice feel overall. Staff often unaware of cancelled/scheduled activities so disappointed a few times.
Stayed here as a couple in November 2017 in the Star Prestige area. The hotel is faultlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. We were B&B and the food was great. Good variety in the breakfasts, enough to keep you not feeling like it was the same things all over again etc. The location is great as well, a 10 minute stroll brings you to the main sea front area with restaurants aplenty and everything else you could want. Walking in either direction gives you something to do from the walk to the light house or all the way along the prom to the fort at the other end. We were there out of the main season which might make an impact but we never had an issue with loungers etc. Now for the not so great and where the Iberostar needs to make a little more investment in it's people. We were in a sea view room next to the star prestige restaurant. A little extra foot fall to and from the restaurant, but that Is fine. Where we had issues was with the noise from the building works on top of the restaurant. The main noises were pipe cutting and grinding. On the first day of works I went to enquire how long it would be going on for and was promised an hour - it was for a new Jacuzzi area for guests. It went on for hours and the end result was we really were not able to use our terrace while it was happening - a key part of the room for us. Day 2, we were told there was no works at all going on - despite the noise of it in the background of reception! We requested a manager contact us to discuss - no reply. Day 3 we were out for most of the day but the works had started before we left and were still going on well after 6pm when we got back. We did ring reception again but no one got back to us that day. Day 4 I finally got someone who took an interest and referred me to a manager. To be fair to him he listened, offered a move on what would have been Day 6 to a pool room (refused - why should we move from sea view upgrade room to pool view!? plus that would have been a move on Day 6 of a 7 day holiday) and came down to see our issue first hand. He came back a little later to let us know the contractors should not be making this noise (should be doing it elsewhere and only fitting on site apparently) and that in 1 hour it would be stopped. To be fair it was - mostly... they moved the cutting to the other end of the roof - but whatever.. solved our issue! It simply should not have taken 4 days to resolve. To be told by different staff that it will be 1 hour of works, another that nothing was happening at all, a day with no reply and finally an answer on day 4. I'm sure Iberostar will reply about how disappointed they are that it happened and how glad they are of my positive comments but put simply it's not good enough. There seemed to be a lot of very new staff and they seemed genuinely scared to refer any issues up the chain - that's the part where the communications fall down. That an informing guests of any planned works that might impact on their stay. Would this stop me coming back - no... in fact we are planning to next year. It's maintenance works - they happen and then they are done but the way it was dealt with was very poor. Hopefully it's just growing pains and they will be all sorted soon.
Everything about this hotel is excellent.... The staff are simply incredible. Special thank you to Miranda on reception for our room it was stunning, you made our holiday perfect !x Glenda from miniclub, you work endlessly to make sure the children have a good time, we loved you x Carlos ( with the gold tooth !!) on the bar, you were brilliant, great personality. With regards to the hotel: The food is very good and the restaurant is busy but always exceptionally clean. The entertainment is a bit naff but they work hard to try and pull it off. Mini disco is a bit late at 8.30 after a day on the slides you have a very tired child so 7.30 would be better. The location is perfect, nice for walks into Playa Blanca and near a beach. Only negative is that the hotel is on the promenade and there is no security / gates to stop non residents using the facilities ie the slide pool. But all said ,we can't wait to go back next year.
Did the research and it was not wasted. Stayed for three weeks half board. The hotel is actually three horseshoe four story blocks each with swimming pools and lounging areas, one for premium guests, one for families with children and one for everyone else so plenty of space for your preference and no shortage of vacant sun beds. A fourth zone is a small number of recently upgraded apartments with a small kitchen and separate living room to which we were allocated despite only booking a standard room. Food, particularly the seafood with fresh oysters several nights, was outstanding and the staff exceedingly obliging. Well situated ten minutes from the harbor with regular walk on ferries to Fuertaventura, 40 minutes walk to the marina with its upmarket shops and I was able to walk for an hour and a half in either direction along the coast mainly on paved surfaces. Mainly German clientele who we find are always a civilizing influence. Two niggles: no decaf teabags at breakfast and disorganized tv sport availability in the bar despite four large screens. We went to the bar down the road to watch Premier league. Overall very enjoyable.
Just heading back to Belfast in the morning after a fantastic holiday at this wonderful, newly renovated and now 5 star Hotel. Rooms spacious and spotlessly clean, as is the entire Hotel. Cuisine excellent and varied. Entertainment very good. And most importantly, the staff couldn’t do enough for you. A very special mention of MIRANDA, the receptionist who greeted us upon our arrival. A smiling, warm welcome and greeting. Extremely professional and helpful not only when we arrived but also throughout our stay. Without doubt a real asset to the Hotel. Thank you Miranda. I can only highly recommend this Hotel. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely hotel, rooms are now nice and fresh, and room facilities are great. The location of the hotel is good, a short walk to town, few minutes to beach etc. Food at hotel is good- at end of the day it’s a self service buffet. There is a lot of choice. There are also aspects that are cooked to order so that’s good. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
