Good and clean hotel. Rooms sufficient a good place to stop. Thought Military air base over the road may be a problem but it wasn’t. By the reception is a great place for military plane spotters and photographs. All staff extremely helpful. Worth a taxi ride into town they have everything. Lidl over the road. Would stay again. L&J
Spent 4 nights here on a business trip. Room was quite nice, large bathroom however no hot water. Reported this and got warm water which again went cold. All room amenities were good, shutters for black out at night, very good breakfast selection however dinner is a book only. They have alcohol but only if you book in for dinner-no bar. I would stay again as it is only a 5 minute walk into town.
We've been really happy staying at the Campanile Hotels. The staff always seem happy to be there, very friendly and warm. The rooms are excellent. Simple and unfussy. Always very clean (thanks cleaning staff!), good wifi. heating, hot water, AND you get a kettle in your room with tea and coffee. BONUS! As I can't go a day or night before a cup of tea before bed. The breakfast is very good, as is the restaurant for dinner if you choose to eat there. Love it here.
Ideal for a short stay. Classic motel with parking in front of each room. The rooms are relatively spacious, functional with all that's needed. TV, kettle, work surface, free wiFi. Clean, confortable beds. Restaurant provides breakfast & evening meal. Plenty of choice, pleasant staff. One small point, no cutlery for desserts, except tiny coffee spoon! Not easy to eat a tart or an ile flottante! Otherwise OK.
Lovely place to stay. Long days travel, so had everything we needed. Somewhere to have a main meal, which was lovely. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which are a must on a business trip. Shower, bed, tv & breakfast, all at a good standard for a very reasonable price
This is one of the best campanile hotels we have stayed in, everything was a cut above, the staff, the service, the cleanliness, the rooms and the food in the restaurant was delicious, we stay in at leat 4 different campanile hotels a year, and enjoyed staying here immensely
We needed a stop-over on a Sunday evening when open French restaurants can be a little scarce on the ground. This hotel offered a room at a reasonable price and a restaurant which was going to be open. Unfortunately they had been very busy the night before. The room key did not work to start with and the towels had not been changed from the previous occupants. Moreover, having changed them once, the new ones, which I saw come off the washed towel pile in the hotel's linen room, were also somewhat stained though I suppose clean. Once we finally settled in, it was a good, comfortable, clean and quiet room. The restaurant was fine with the campanile buffet offering a reasonably good meal and the restaurant a pleasant ambiance. So, for a Sunday night stopover it was alright and the price was fine reflecting their reduced custom on Sunday nights. Other times I might look further afield.
One night stopover on my way to Spain. Ground floor room with easy access to the motorbike, secure parking and a good clean room but as other reviewers have said the wooden floors do allow the noise of couples upstairs walking /creaking etc to come through to the rooms below. Breakfast was plentiful and available for along time - ideal for both early or late starts. Supermarket within walkign distance for last minute essentials... one downside but the hotel is very close to a military airbase and at 6:00 on Sunday two military jets tooks off... the locals were very alarmed as well as other visitors as it was an unusual situation.
On arrival at the reception she was pleasant and welcoming. The car park was gate closed after hours to secure vehicles. They have a restaurant on site. This site is near the commercial centre and near by air base. Which you will generally hear through the evening. The room was colourful and comfortable.
I stayed in this hotel last September and gave it a rather mixed review, but I was visiting the town recently and the Campanile was very conveniently sited, so I tried it again. In terms of location, it is very well placed on the edge of town, and we had a fairly large room with a comfortable bed. In the restaurant, the waitress patiently explained to us all the options, and could not have been more helpful. It was a shame that the ambiance was spoiled by the persistent, and very loud, drone of the refrigeration unit in the room. Breakfast was very poor. They had run out of croissants by 8:30, a matter of complete indifference to the duty manager when we raised the matter with him. No effort had been made to clear any of the tables, and a couple of Campanile employees took up residence amongst the mess to earnestly discuss their spreadsheets. Maybe Campanile has missed the obvious connection between spreadsheets and customer satisfaction.
