Stayed 3 nights here and skied 2 days at Panorama. Close to hill. Good cont breakfast. Clean room. Laundry on site. Apologies for construction but not needed. All staff very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant recommendations and Sally the manager even offered to drive us back to pick up car next morning if we wanted to have a few drinks. How could anyone ask for anything better?
We had a main floor room. The bathroom was clean, but they could have installed the curved shower-rod to create more space while showering. The room was OK, nothing fancy, but clean, however we did not realize pets were allowed (for a fee). So we were not too keen on that. We were told the 3rd floor was being renovated so it was off-limits. On our departure day, a truck full of beds were arriving, so they had a lot of people helping to off-load the inventory as well as people to take the old beds away. Not sure how long the renovations will take. Sounds like its taking quite a long time. In addition, the walls seemed thin (or not insulated) as we could hear the next room guests talking. The breakfast was simple (and nice) again nothing fancy. The HIGHLIGHT of the hotel was the onsite-resturant. The food was AMAZING!!!! Compliments to the Chef! The staff were very nice, friendly (and good-looking I might add)... Even if we do not stay here again, we will definately come back to the resturant...
I was verbally insulted as I was checking out because I was AMERICAN! I refused to pay more money in the morning after I had been quoted and paid for my room when I checked in. Apparently the desk clerk in the evening should have charged me $10.00 more and when I refused to pay for his mistake the next morning, the male desk clerk verbally insulted me as an American. If you are American don't stay here!! They hate us because we are Americans!!
Stopped here on my way from Kimberley to Golden. Had inadvertently booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Golden only to find out that the hotel is not pet friendly and they said they could not refund my money at this time. There were a lot of elk and deer on the highway, so stopped for the night. Richard at the front desk was very welcoming and got my dog and I a room and offered to help me with my bags. The rooms are clean and nice and we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay! I would definitely stay here again!
This room was more than adequate for what we needed. It was a huge room with a table for 4, king bed and a pullout couch I believe. There was a fridge and a microwave. The room and bathroom were clean. The staff was very pleasant. Had an average continental breakfast which we were fine with. There's also a restaurant attached to the hotel. The hotel is located on the hwy yet you wouldn't even know. It was quiet and close to town. They advertise about the renos that are coming. The only thing was that the mattress was lacking enough support so hopefully better mattresses will come with the room upgrades.
We were happy to get a room for a reasonable rate on a Saturday night during peak season. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice too. There isn't anything spectacularly nice about this property but there isn't anything bad either.
Stayed one night travelling through Invermere. This is a basic, dated property very much in need of the updating that is, apparently, coming soon. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway but it is in a pretty uninspired, industrial/commercial location - not much to do or see in the immediate area. The front desk attendant was pleasant and helpful. He explained the hotel features (such as they are) and briefed us on the current (and hopefully VERY temporary) "boil-water advisory" in effect in the area. The water well that supplies the hotel and neighbouring businesses had been recently rendered unusable by some unspecified contaminant. The information supplied assured us that there was no health risk to guests from washing, bathing or showering but that we should NOT ingest the tap water or use it to brush our teeth. The hotel provided a few bottles of water in the room for making coffee and tooth-brushing and they had additional bottled water available in the lobby, but we absolutely would have been looking for alternate accommodation had we been staying in Invermere for more than one night. Hopefully they will resolve the problems quickly because this can't be good for business... I sure wouldn't be happy about staying there if I was travelling with kids. Our room was a weirdly large "King Suite" that was the only pet-friendly room available. The room was just one huge room with a king bed, sofa and small dining alcove... and about three acres of open space in the middle of the room. Our little dog loved being able to run for miles across the wide open spaces but it was largely useless otherwise. And, calling this room a "suite" is misleading - it was just one room with no separate bedroom... Strange setup - and NOT worth the premium price charged unless you plan to play indoor field hockey in your room. The bed was poor - hard, uncomfortable and desperately in need of replacement in that impending renovation the proprietors are promising. Otherwise, the room was clean and functional. The free continental breakfast was a dead loss. Unappetizing cold cereal; a small selection of fruit; bread for toasting and kind of stale blueberry muffins; cold hard-boiled eggs; yogurt cups; and a couple of jugs of juice. What an uninspired, half-hearted effort! Just skip it and go to the restaurant attached to the hotel - they claim to provide the "best breakfast in the valley" though we can't confirm that claim. We just headed 200 yards down the street to Tim Hortons after taking a look at the Kanata's weak attempt at "continental" breakfast. All in all, this is an adequate roadside hotel but we'd only stay again if nothing else was available in the area. It definitely did NOT provide great value - not at $225 / night for the "King Suite" (including taxes and the $20.00 pet fee.) The attached restaurant is OK. We ordered a light take-out dinner (club sandwich and nachos) when we arrived. The food was good and the staff were very nice. Maybe the renovations will help... Meh...
Very friendly reception. (Richard I think) with lots of useful local information. We are crossing North America, and this was by far the largest room in this price range. The hot tub was welcome, as was the continental breakfast that we didn't know was included.
Traveling through to Cranbrook at 9 pm with our 3 kids, we discovered that the highway was closed due to an accident. I quickly jumped on line and remembering seeing this place on our drive, made a reservation for a 2 King beds room. Drive the 45 min back to Invermere, calling the hotel the whole drive, just to be sure that our "confirmed reservation" is indeed confirmed- can't get through- just rings and rings. Upon arrival the front desk girl tells us " oh those rooms haven't been available for days". No rooms at all. She assures me I won't be charged for the reservation. Ya, thanks. Ended up at Copper point instead, pricey, but at 11 pm with 3 crying kids and the possibility of sleeping in the car, I didn't really care!
On arrival were greeted by a really nice guy on reception who was very chatty and informative. Nice size beds that were clean and comfy. Only thing against was that the hotel is close to the highway and traffic noise could be a problem with the windows open, although there is AC unit on room.
