Excellent hotel, with very comfortable clean rooms, The interior is very beautiful - especially the halls and stairways with nice fences. Very rich breakfast served in the upper floor. Kind staff. Good location.
The Good: RoomRates: Single & Double: $90 USD Triple: $110 USD Suite: $160 USD Located near the Historic Center within a short walk to the Cathedral, museums, restaurants, banks, ARMs and stores. Also close to Lake Titicaca. The area is safe and clean for strolling. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the shower has strong hot water for soothing muscles after a day walking the wonderful Peruvian destinations. The Bad: The breakfast is good but not great with the juices not being fresh. I can not speak of other rooms, but the shower area in Room #504 needs some attention. The spots of mildew in the tile grout lines and on the ceiling need to be removed. And the peeling paint above the shower needs repair. The Ugly: No ugly. Considering this is Peru the hotel with a little more attention could be a gem.
Very good reception , staff always ready to help you, large and clean room, fine breakfast . Good location near center and main street. Sweet price for service. You will not disappointed.I am sure you will not regret your choice.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hacienda Puno. It is a good quality mid-range hotel in a fantastic location right in the city centre just a few minutes away from the main square and the pedestrian street where there are loads of restaurants. The staff were very helpful and professional. To be honest it was a lot better than expected for the price paid. We arrived from Bolivia where quality was much lower for the same price range, in fact it felt like the Ritz after Bolivia! The room and bathroom were very nice - clean, comfortable and everything in good condition. Amenities include toiletries, a safe, hairdryer, desk, wardrobe, phone, WiFi in room and tv with international channels. Towels and bedding were both great. The hot water deserves a special mention - not only was the shower hot every time with good pressure (not something to take for granted!), I was even managed to have a hot bath which was a great way to warm up before bed in these chilly temperatures. There is free parking but not on site. It’s in a secure car park a few blocks away which was fine. Breakfast wasn’t bad - a selection of fresh fruit and juice, bread (and a toaster!), ham, cheese, cereal, scrambled egg, French toast and sausage. The coffee was pretty good. The room was quite chilly even in the daytime when it was warm outside. There was a heater but it didn’t seem to make much difference. We were not cold in bed though due to the heavy bedding. Our only complaint was that it was a bit noisy in the morning. The restaurant is on the 6th floor. Our room was on the 5th floor and there was a quite lot of noise early in the morning when breakfast was being set up. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room on a lower floor. I found the hotel to be excellent value for money considering the quality and price paid ($45 per night on Booking which was less than the hotel’s own website). No issues with the bill and we were able to pay by credit card in either USD or Soles. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone.
Stayed here twice for one night whilst on a tour. The 2 rooms I had were on different floors but both were very quiet despite the location being so close to the centre of town. The rooms are clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom functional. The wifi can be a bit slow in the evenings but I was able to even Face Time during the afternoon. Both times the safe had been left locked and needed a staff member to reset it. Overall I was pleased with the choice
The room was clean, with big comfy beads and a great shower/bath. The location is awesome. But I would say that the breakfast was a big disappointment: a bad copy of an american breakfast. We also took an excursion with them, which went well. And on our last day of stay we got a decent lunchbox.
The room that we were assigned on the 5th floor did not have any ventilation or outside window. Someone next door was smoking and our room filled with smoke. Management responded immediately and deoderized our room - but the smokers soon returned. The rooms were basic and reasonably comfortable. I would have given this hotel a 3 or 4 star rating if it were not for the lack of ventilation and smokers (without management approval). Elevators are slow - there is a charming spiral staircase all the way up 6 floors if you are so inclined. Staff is very responsive and helpful. The restaurant on the top floor has fairly good food for dinner and breakfast.
Good hotel, nice and clean, friendly staff, hot water, good breakfast and a room with a view. We arrived in the evening and they were very helpful in helping us book a Lake Titicaca tour for the next day.
Fine hotel and excellent dining room with a varied and well-prepared menu. Food was delicious. The staff was helpful and were very understanding, making an effort to anticipate our needs. English was fine, although we spoke Spanish. Cold at night, of course, and noisy from next door (either the kitchen was starting up or construction, never did find out). Great value and pleasant environment, spend two or three days to become familiar with the altitude. The hotel will help with this if you have any issues.
"I found the staff at Hacienda Puno to be very friendly and helpful from the moment I checked in until I checked out. As an English-speaking American, with some basic knowledge of Spanish, and a woman traveling alone, it was a comfort to have the staff working with my level of communication skills. I was only in town for 36 hours (2 nights), so I had a lot I wanted to accomplish in a short amount of time. While I was on a tour of Lake Titicaca, the staff made a dinner reservation for me. I was shopping between the tour and dinner, and was able to leave my packages at the front desk to avoid another trip up to my room. When I returned with a dessert to eat in my room, the restaurant staff assisted with the proper utensils and napkins. My room was big and bright and well accommodated. I enjoyed having a big, comfortable bed to fall into after two long days. And the bath tub was just a bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Puno and plan to stay when I return again someday."
