Hacienda Puno3.0 out of 5.0

Hotel Hacienda Puno is conveniently located to the Plaza de Armas, shopping and restaurants. It's a quaint hotel that goes the extra mile to help you acclimate to the high altitudes. Coca tea is available in the lobby 24/7 and the hotel offers oxygen if needed. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the top floor over looking the city and Lake Titicaca. Beautiful sunrise to start our day. The breakfast buffet offered eggs, cereal, cheeses, meats, hot coffee, teas, coca tea, and delicious juices.
The room was comfortable, breakfast satisfying for travellers on the go and there was a good view over the lake from the dining room. We recommend Hotel Haciendo for proximity to lake and attractions in Puno.
Location is good (close to plaza de armas) and room was nice, but our bedsheets were dirty. When complaining to the reception they told us they could only change them in the morning, because the cleaning ladies were not there. So basically they wanted us to sleep in dirty bedsheets. When complaining again to the reception they offered us a new room, with equally dirty bedsheets. Customer service by the hotel was very poor and the staff does not speak English, and in the end we slept with dirty bedsheets because there were probably no clean ones in the hotel. It amazes me that this hotel has such a good rating on TripAdvisor, avoid this hotel when going to Puno.
This hotel would suit your needs for a stay in Puno. The hotel is close to the lake and the tourist areas for shops and restaurants. The staff are helpful both front of house and restaurant. Breakfast is very good with a good selection of food. The rooms are large enough and well furnished. Recommended.
We wish we had discovered this hotel right at the start of our stay in Puno. Best breakfast on the 6th floor with a great view, lovely sunny room with bath and shower and excellent location. Also very good price. Thoroughly recommend. Also receptionist spoke good English for us kiwis.
Very good service in all aspects, close to shops and restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay there again if the need arises. Secure parking available a short walk away. Tours booked at reception.
Styled like a hacienda with wrought iron spiral stair case as well as a lift. Safe, secure rooms with clean comfortable beds. Linen is clean and stain free. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Chose off the inernet on price and were pleasantly surprised.
Decent hotel, rooms and bathrooms are well equipped and comfortable. Locker, hair dryer are available. The staff is friendly and helpful. Tea/coffee are available 24 hours in a corner at the reception. Noise from the corridor can be disturbing specially if your neighbors are going out early morning or coming late night. Wi-Fi is dicy in corner rooms.
After waking up in the middle of the night at our hostel elsewhere in Puno we needed to move to a nice place. For a booking rate of $35 this hotel looked like a palace. I was sick and needed a functioning bathroom and a nice space to recover. The front desk wasn't the friendliest but they were efficient given our mutual language issues. Wifi worked well and the breakfast looked amazing though I wasn't able to eat anything.
Room ok, clean and warm with hot water. The menu for the hotel restaurant looked good, and we arrived in the evening after a long journey, so up we went. Only to find a room full of disgruntled diners and just one waiter who had rather given up trying to cope. Result: one and a half hours for one bowl of soup. Perhaps a temporary glitch, but understandably we didn't go back to find out. Check out time was listed as 0900 - without exception in every other hotel in Peru that we visited (18) the check out time was 1200 - and courteously flexible on request. At the Hacienda Puno they (very) grudgingly granted us until 1000 - even though the hotel was clearly only about 25% occupied (with a late evening arrival you could spend less than 12hrs here before being back on the street). We cancelled our planned second night's booking and moved out. Management need to look at both of the foregoing issues - the hotel industry is highly competitive and this is not the way to gain custom or win friends. Both aspects are substantive, not subjective.
