My wife and I, along with 2 other friends hiked a 65 mile section of the PCT. Naturally we were a little smelly, never the less that is no reason to treat us like gutter trash. We arrived at the hotel around 1:45 pm and wanted to check-in, the receptionist did not ask for our names or confirmation number she only said " you need to come back at 3:00 pm that is when check-in starts!" I said that I understand we can't get our rooms until 3:00, but could we just check in now and come back at 3:00 to go to our rooms. She replied " No. I have no idea where I am going to put you!" So we sat in the lobby to rest and wait until 3:00. Not 5 minutes later 2 other customers arrived to check-in and were greeted very warmly and asked for their names. The receptionist said to them "I'm sorry, but check-in does not start until 3:00. There is a great Pizzeria in walking distance and if you give me your phone number I'll call you as soon as something comes available." I was absolutely appalled to be treated as if we were trash. The receptionist never once apologized for her actions but at 2:30 said to us "we have rooms now if you want to get in!" Never again will I waste my money on an establishment like this that hires such unprofessional staff members.

The hotel is okay especially when you take price into account. The morning breakfast is lacking. Obviously the stuff was frozen as the bagel I was going to eat was still mostly frozen. My recommendation is walk next door the the Truckee Bagel Company.

Great location, has what you need for a good ski weekend.

The staff were very kind the acomodations were fine but not great. It was about what I expected for the price

We always stay at this motel when staying in the Truckee area. It is clean, well run, and convenient to all the area outdoor attractions. Parking is always available and a convenient shopping center is only a two minute walk away. Good continental breakfast is served 6 to 9.

The room I stayed in had a no working lights except for the bathroom and one small lamp. One of the bed covers was full of holes. The staff was okay but they only worked 7 am to 10 pm so if you needed help any other time you had to call a help line. It wasn't as good as it should have been for the price I payed but it is one of the few hotels in the area.

I was going to ski at Homewood ski resort which is a half a mile drive. We showed up to the hotel late and the staff at the check in counter didn't have our reservation ready. There was a bit of an attitude from the person as if I hadn't booked the room correctly or in their hotel, and when I tried to show her the email confirmation I had on my phone she said "I don't even know how to read that". I called customer support and while waiting on the line to be helped the person found my reservation "in her inbox". She then became very apologetic, but left us with a little angry with her attitude. The room was fine, basically just spent then night and left the next morning.

As we drove up several construction workers were sitting by the front door smoking and obviously well into a number of beers. not a great start for my wife. the stairs and hall floors were not cleaned/ vacuumed. Spartan would be too generous. the trucks outside started up at 5:15 so don't expect to sleep very late. Overall, a big disappointment-- I was embarrassed to take my wife there.

My riding partner and I stayed here on a Saturday night very easy check-in and nice staff. the room was very clean and comfortable. I may be jaded but after a hard day of riding the hot shower and comfortable bed were great. Very reasonable price for a one night stay but it is before ski season.

Expensive, small and out of the way. No elevator. Had to walk up two flights of stairs with overweight luggage. No coffee maker in the room as advertised. Cleaning staff was rude but the front desk was helpful. They did allow us to check in a little early, which was appreciated.

good helpful employees

I was in tahoe and stayed the night at the inn prior to snowboarding at squaw. Nice staff and decent accommodations. Great location for getting to the mtns. Wireless Internet for free. I'd stay here again.

It was an extremely basic, no frills at all, place to stay for the night. Beds are very "firm" if you like that. I was turned off by the old pieces of popcorn and old tissue on the floor that was visible when you pulled back the bedding. The staff at the front desk was very nice. A few places to eat and grocery store within walking distance was great.

Really enjoyed this hotel. The bed was a little too soft/cheap, BUT it was clean. Just like the room, very clean. Staff was friendly and we really enjoyed the location. Would stay there again.

4th of July, watched fireworks in Tahoe Vista. Came back for a quiet rest but even with the window closed, loud noisy freeway ruins the nice woodsy setting. Nice Truckee parade.
