Your private hill-top furnished glamping site on 50 private Adirondack acres
Have an amazing view of the stars when you stay with us at our hill-top lean-to. Located on 50 acres, this private lean-to is the perfect place to sleep under the moon-light. The lean-to comes furnished with plenty of chairs, tables, and a futon bed with a bug net. You will need to bring your sleeping bags. No tent needed but you will want the rest of your camping gear. We’d love to help you plan your activities for your trip! Our property includes hiking trails!
Rural, but centrally located, Overlook Lean-to is seven miles north of Paul Smiths College on Rt. 30. You’ll be in one of the most varied wilderness areas of the park.
The Paul Smith’s Visitors Interpretive Center is five miles away with wonderful hiking trails and educational programs for the whole family.
You’ll be 25 minutes to Saranac Lake or Malone; 35 minutes to Lake Placid and its Olympic venues; 50 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks (the Wild Center) is 40 minutes away in Tupper Lake.
Overlook Lean-to is a 3 sided shelter with an open sleep/hang out space. There is an outhouse nearby which comes stocked with toilet paper.
There is a nice campfire spot just in front of the lean-to for marshmallow roasts or quiet fire gazing. A reasonable amount of campfire wood is available for your use.
We provide a sheltered table you can cook and serve food on. We provide potable water in a jug for your use. There is also a gas stove that you can use!
There are nearby trails which are excellent for mountain biking with both back country roads and single-track. Designated horseback riding trail heads are less than a mile away. A “Wild and Scenic Study River,” the Osgood, flows nearby with put-in and take-outs within a couple of miles of our driveway. Drop-off and pick-up arrangements can be made. This is a “must paddle” for those interested in wildlife and scenery. Many have spotted the bald eagle who has a nest at the river’s edge. We are surrounded by many great fishing spots.
You'll have 50 acres to explore, including purpose-built mountain biking trails!
We provide well water in jugs but if you run out there is a cold water spigot a 3 minute walk away.
There’sYour hosts will be available 24/7 if you need anything. We live on site.
There’s an outdoor sunshower for your use.
While you don't need a tent, there are spots to pitch one if you so choose. The lean-to comes furnished with plenty of chairs, tables, and a futon bed with a bug net. You will need to bring your sleeping bags and groups of three or larger will want sleeping pads. We do provide a small campstove for your use with all your pots, pans, plates, and utensils. There is a cooler at the site for your food. There is a lovely picnic table under a tarp next to the lean-to. There are tons of walking trails and neat places to explore on the property and in the local area. Plus, we'll help you plan your activities for your trip!
