Lake Lure Cottage with Private Dock & Kayaks

Summary:

Tucked into a quiet cove on Lake Lure, this dog-friendly tiny cottage comes with your own private dock, kayak, and canoe. Watch the water from the upper balcony, unwind by the fire pit below, and retreat to a cozy loft bedroom under wood-paneled ceilings after a day on the lake.

The Space:

This dog-friendly tiny cottage sits right on the water in a quiet cove on Lake Lure, with a private dock that comes with a canoe and kayak for guests to paddle out whenever the mood strikes.

Inside, wood-paneled ceilings and large windows give the open living area a warm, cabin-like feel. The living room has a sleeper sofa and a Smart TV, and the kitchenette is set up for easy meals with a two-burner cooktop, microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Up in the loft, the queen bedroom has a cozy, tucked-away feel, and a full bathroom rounds out the interior. Between the queen bed and the sofa sleeper, the home comfortably sleeps three.

Outside, an upper balcony looks out over the lake, while the lower patio has a grill for cooking dinner and a fire pit for evenings by the water. There's yard space to spread out, and the private dock puts the lake right at your doorstep for paddling or just watching the water. Keep in mind Lake Lure undergoes a seasonal drawdown, typically from November through March.

Guests also have WiFi, a dedicated workspace, and free on-site parking, and well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior approval and a pet fee.

The cove is about 6 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park, with Lake Lure Beach & Marina, the Flowering Bridge, and downtown Lake Lure each roughly 7 to 8 minutes away. Stays under 28 nights also include complimentary daily tickets to area attractions through Xplorie. Whether it's a morning paddle from your own dock or a day exploring the mountains, this lakefront cottage makes it easy to slow down and enjoy Lake Lure.

Guest Access:

Guests have full access to The Hummingbird House, patios, yard, fire pit, and private dock (please follow posted signage). Canoe and kayak are available when lake levels permit.

The Neighborhood:

The cottage sits in a quiet cove along Lake Lure, in the Rutherford County foothills of western North Carolina. Chimney Rock State Park is about 6 minutes away for hiking and mountain views, and Lake Lure's Beach & Marina, the Flowering Bridge, and downtown Lake Lure are each roughly 7 to 8 minutes by car, putting local restaurants, shops, and the lake's public spaces within easy reach. Outdoor adventures are the main draw in this area, from trails around Chimney Rock to time on the water, and guests staying under 28 nights receive complimentary daily tickets to area attractions through Xplorie. For a longer day trip, the Biltmore Estate is about 45 minutes away. Since the property sits on a cove off Memorial Highway, having a car is the easiest way to get around and explore.
