We stayed three days in July. The hotel is very busy. It took a long time to check in and out. Parking is under ground and accessed by your room key. The rooms are nice. The food is across the driveway in a park setting. The food was good but make a reservation. We almost didn't eat the first night.
Hotel location is just entering point in Como after getting off from highway, it's very convenient to walk to Cernobbio and Tavernora boat station. But it cannot see Lake Como itself from this hotel. We stayed in sweet room with large private garden, and room interior was quite good and relaxable design. Lounge and restaurant in the first floor were very comfortable, and there were many books equipped like as book cafe. Garden with pool and huge green area were also very nice for children to enjoy. The most impressive point was the GM of this hotel is very active and manages all of matters all of the day. And also he understands all of customers. I think he is the best GM in Sheraton in the world.
We stay here each year on our way down to Provence because it's a good location, has secure parking, the rooms are excellent and the prices are sensible. BUT each year we are staggered by how bad the food and beverage standards are. This year breakfast was simply appalling in both service (utter chaos) and quality of food. They also seem to have a cultural problem looking at how the senior managers talk to lower ranking staff. Even the crisps by the pool were stale, I mean how bad can it get?!?! They desperately need a decent Chef and a F&B Manager who can make it better. Last year we ate in the poolside restaurant and it was so bad we got a full refund, we didn't try it this year as it was the same Chef! When we left there were a number of people were queuing up to complain about various aspects of their stay which seems fairly normal. A real shame, it could be a great hotel.
A really nice hotel with really good and helpful staff. The breakfast is good. The room was very clean and good bed. You can choice with pool view and do that, really nice to stand out at the very small balcony.
Usually I devided hotels on bussiness, holiday and romantic. In this case are all in one. In my opinion good place for excurson arround the Lago di Como but if you like lake view you must find other place. Very friendly staff in reception and restaurants. During the nearest reconstruction I recomend carpet in rooms. Current wood floor is non comfortable when neighbor push chair or walk .
Sheraton lake Como charges 16,000 points nightly which is what I was paid July 16, 2017 (I'm SPG GOLD)...The room 309 had a heavy cleaning product odour but being tired my wife and I fell to sleep regardless...We awoke congested and with a headache and then we noticed a used shower cap hanging in the bathroom and and ant infestation (ants numbering 50+)...We raced down to the front desk and spoke to the day manager Stefano...He advised that the room had been smoked in and the room deodorizer has a strong smell...He was unaware of the ants (one was crawling on my shirt while we were speaking) and accompanied us to the room to inspect...Ants were everywhere from bathroom to closet and tables...He re-assigned us to room 321 across the hall and left us to our own resources to shift our belongings for the remainder of our stay... At checkout I reviewed the events of the 1st night with the night manager and he agreed that my points would be returned to my SPG account in 2-3 days (this never happened)...After returning home and exchanging unanswered emails directly with Stefano I involved SPG GOLD Customer Service prompting the general manager Davide to respond, however, he refused to return 16,000 points offering only 6,000 points... I suppose you could also receive a room for the "special" rate of 10,000 points if you bring your own ant traps! I've stayed at many SPG properties around the world and have had very few problems and when an issue arose in the past that property management has always refused to charge me for the night I was inconvenienced...
Lake Como is overall a very stressful place, overcrowded and with very busy roads. This hotel is a little further away and is peaceful. However, walking to Como requires you walk 40mn most of which on the side of a a busy noisy road. The hotel is not by the lake either (places by the lake on lake Como are extremely rare). Swimming pool is nice. Best is the happy hour (aperitivo) by the pool at 6pm which includes grilled food with your drink. In room safe. I couldn't get the wifi to work for my phone (it worked for my tablet however). As someone else said, because of the distance to anything, plan on eating dinners there. For a meal by the pool on the WE, reserve in advance. The mediterranean style restaurant is expensive and limited selection however the food is really good - in particular try the risotto, the milanese coteletto (wiener schnitzel) and the fresh mozzarella in the caprese insalate are absolutely excellent. There is also a commercial center (Lario center) nearby (5mn by car) where among other things you can find an ATM, a grocery store (including a pharmacy and a liquor store), a McDonald and a great italian eatery Leo Italian.
We spent five days at the Sheraton, Lake Como, which is a good location for exploring the beautiful towns in the vicinity. Its pleasant but lacks character and is rather bland & somewhat boring. It's largely predictable and feels very much like a business hotel as opposed to a resort although it does have a pool & spa area. We found it to be quite impersonal. As an lifetime SPG member, one certainly didn't feel like a valued client. It's overpriced for accommodation and food & beverage. Furthermore, be warned if ordering a taxi from the hotel that there is a flag fall charge of €14 (by Bravo 11) before your journey begins on top of a standard mileage charge.
Stayed at Como Sheraton for 4 nights. The hotel location is very good. Nice with the pool and restaurants. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful with making dinner reservations etc. One afternoon we went to the pool, a girl worked there to help guests with the sunbeds and umbrella and towels. We asked for an umbrella and it was very difficult for her to help us. Finally she brought us one umbrella. The umbrella she brought us was dirty and her white shirt got dirt on it. She blaimed us for that. I can not beleive her attitude, She was rude. She never brought us the towels I asked for. One waiter told me from where I can get the towels. Sheraton Lake Como is a nice hotel with Great breakfast, nice reception staff and quiet rooms, only the pool girl was rude.
We booked a 7 night holiday with Citalia to Lake Como, and chose the Sheraton Hotel because of past experiences at Sheraton Hotels. Our room is supposed to be an upgrade Superior Room, but it is far from being Superior standard, There are no Draws in which to put you cloths, only two tiny bedside cabinet draws, two narrow desk draws, and that is it apart from a shelf , there is however a hanging rail to accommodate dresses, suits etc. This is not what we have experienced in the Sheraton, Marriot hotels previously.
