Beautiful view, great location, and resort grounds are very well kept. Enjoyed whale watching from the lanai, the pool and hot tub, the grills by the pool, and played pickle ball. No beach but you can access it right next door.

The unit was filthy. Bed was not made, we had to wash the sheets. Walls and door covered with dirt and grime. Closet smelled of rotten fish. Pillows and mattresses are very old. We checked out early because we just couldn't stay there any longer. Host was less than helpful.

Excellent place and excellent location. Property is super clean and convenient to the beach and local bars and restaurants. Check-in was a breeze and the availability of an elevator and luggage carts made lugging everything up to the 4th floor a breeze. Only complaint is that there is one ductless AC unit for the entire place. The bedroom has a portable AC unit but it is pretty loud. If you're a light sleeper, you'll either need to sleep in a warm room or bring some ear plugs. It didn't bother us at all though. The main AC unit doesn't do a very good job of cooling the place - it's ok - just not great. I would suggest they remove all of the sheetmetal surrounding the outdoor unit so it can function more efficiently and would likely do a much better job at cooling the apartment.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed at the Westin Nanea for a week and then stayed three days at Papakea Resort. All 5 of us preferred the laid back atmosphere at Papakea and the fact that it was so much smaller. Absolutely beautiful grounds and we loved sitting on the chairs at the edge of the ocean with no sand!!

All went well

There was a tiny snafu on check in (things happen) yet the staff at the property and the cleaners worked to take care of things quickly while we went out to grab a bite to eat. We appreciated there help. The unit itself was well appointed with all that we needed. Air conditioning worked while it was not needed much. Location makes it very easy to walk to lots of food as well as the water. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the morning while the teens slept in. Lots to explore very very close by. Plenty space inside and out to relax.

Second loft 'bedroom' lacking

There are several hidden fees in addition to the outrageous service and host fees. The second bedroom is obviously only intended for children's use as it is way less upkept or presentable.

Perfect for our family!

We are a family of 6 (with four boys ages 10 to 16) and we absolutely loved this place. It was perfect for our first trip to Maui. The view from the lanai, the kitchen, the sleeping arrangements, the location...everything was just what we needed. Having all the equipment (snorkel, golf, boogie boards, umbrellas) was incredibly helpful as well. The boys spent so much time playing mini golf and swimming. And the beach was a 2 min walk. Highly recommend!!

Very nice property with beautiful views

The apartment has everything one needs. It was clean and well equipped. The view from the fourth floor is outstanding. The complex is well maintained. We didn’t have a reason to contact property manager. Everything was in place. We had a tiny issue with ants but I would assume this is common. We lost quite a bit of food because of them. The only safe place in the kitchen was the fridge. We did not cook but the place has everything for one to do so. I would gladly stay there again.

Great location and activities

Great view. We saw humpback whales going by twice. To sleep 6 my husband and I shared the loft (2 single beds) and our grandauhter slept on the pullout couch in the living room. Nice to have 2 bathrooms, but the loft bathroom was a bit grungy. This place was very well equipped with beach toys and kitchen ware. We used the Boogie boards and snorkel gear a lot. 10 minute walk to Kaanapali and 10 minute drive to Napili. We loved both beaches.
