Really cute place right on the beach, beautiful trees and flowers, great location. Patios from the rooms have great views, little paths. Nice family atmosphere . Plenty of parking near by. Great beach.............................

Husband & I stayed here from April 20-24, 2019. We've stayed in plenty of the chain hotels in the Kaanapali area and after staying here, we decided we will likely stay here again. The Mauian seems to have much more of a relaxed atmosphere, it is quieter, small, has beautiful grounds and is a place that made us just feel safe. We stayed in unit 115 and had a great view of the sun the morning and of the ocean during the day from our lanai. Check in was almost too easy, your name is written on the check in bulletin board, you are given an old school key, given a quick FYI or how things roll here and then you are on your way. The room had a Hawaiian feel to it, it was clean and roomy. It is a location for quieter couples/families. There are open windows & shutters on the door to the room, windows and open shutters in the shower as well and there is a door to the lanai and this wall is full windows and shutters as well. We found we automatically adjusted to the quietness. When we arrived I did think I wasn't going to be able to sleep because it was so hot in the room but there are two ceiling fans and there is an AC unit that you can turn on for 2 hours at a time. This was the only inconvenience as I found myself getting up in the middle of the night to turn it back on. Parking is limited although we never had an issue finding a spot. The hotel does have a "local" feel & all staff we encountered were very friendly. Having beach towels and beach chairs provided was a bonus. Getting from our room to Napili Beach took us less than a minute. This was nice as we could go back and forth during beach days for food/water and bathroom breaks. There were some guests who did seem a little entitled to certain areas on the beach, seemed a bit territorial and silly to me as that's what you see at all-inclusives in Mexico. But whatever makes people feel better I suppose. We were also able to walk to Merriman's, The Seahouse and The Gazebo for excellent food. Overall, very relaxing, just what we were looking for this trip. Being close to the Kapalua store was nice as well. And we can't forget to mention the turtles that are in the Napili Beach area, they are everywhere and you can guarantee to get a close look (but not too close obviously).

My husband and I are visiting Maui for a short weekend trip and were lucky to find The Mauian; a budget friendly, low key, cozy, comfortable and clean garden oasis on one of the best beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Check-in was a breeze, they have a generous continental breakfast, housekeeping staff is warm and accommodating, security is friendly (though I can’t imagine having any issues here!) and the clientele is quiet and respectful. It was all the benefits of an expensive boutique resort (prime location, attentive service, well-appointed rooms) but chill and affordable. Great stay!

This boutique-style hotel is just what you would want if you need to get away. Its’s a smaller hotel but has everything you will need. Close to the beach. Just a nice, well-appointed hotel in the heart of Maui.

This boutique hotel was perfect. The staff was impeccable, friendly, courteous and made us feel very welcome. The night security guard helped us with our bags without hesitation and he was a great source of local information. Quite a few of the people seemed to know each other and made us feel a part of something bigger. A lot of the people we talked to come back year after year and I know why. The beach was fantastic, the breakfast was delicious and the grounds were paradise. The rooms were extremely clean and I was glad there was no TV's as there is so much to take in; a TV would have been a distraction. We will be back and we hope to see some familiar faces.

We stayed one night as we were flying out of Kapalua but would have preferred more time. Rooms are nice size for hotel, beautiful gardens, great beach. Nice breakfast place next door on water if you want more than a continental breakfast. Close to Kaplua Ziplines which I highly recommend.

Our family loved the location of this small hotel. It's right on the beach, and even if your room isn't ocean view, the sound of the surf will lull you to sleep. That is lovely and truly relaxing, however, the walls here are PAPER THIN and all the other sounds might annoy you. I could hear the popcorn popping upstairs, a normal conversation in the room next door and all bathroom sounds. Yikes! It is a very peaceful, quiet environment except for this. Seems like an older property that has had a nice facelift, and we found the room quite pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was modern and attractive with a rainfall showerhead. The beds, linens and pillows were very comfy. The room had AC which was easy to use and efficient, and we had two ceiling fans. The front wall of the first-floor room is louvered glass (with screens) so they can be opened for the breeze, and then there are white shutters on the inside. This is pleasant looking, but could be problematic for noise and privacy. Lots of regulars stay here year after year. They were friendly enough to newcomers, but they do stake out their beach spots very early each day with chairs. I'll jump on the bandwagon re: the unimpressive breakfast. It was not a quality problem, but a variety problem. I was kind of stunned to see those who had full kitchens in their rooms show up for breakfast. The pool area was nice and well-maintained and there were several gas grills one could use. The grounds are indeed beautiful featuring ti plants and ginger... and at night with the breeze, the tiki torches and sound of the surf, well, you really feel like you're on vacation. Didn't miss the TV or phone and we had no problem with WiFi.

In all the 30 years I've been visiting Maui, this is the first I've not felt the aloha. One person made it clear that unless you got her approval, you were not welcome on "her" beach. Really? Who made her queen?

We love the Mauian. We've stayed here many times over the past 30 years and going again next month. What is so appealing to us is the setting which includes a relaxing 'older' Hawaii feel in terms of the size and scale of the hotel, beautiful garden landscaping, pool, and beautiful Nipili beach. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have been tastefully remodeled. Rooms include partial or full kitchens. The staff are very friendly and helpful. While there are no in room TVs, free WiFi can connect you to streaming services. For us no TV's in the room is a plus while on vacation. However, there is a TV in the ohana room. The free continental breakfast each morning is very good, and a cocktail party one evening during the week with local musical performers is fun and a chance to meet other guests. Snorkeling is wonderful and you'll often encounter sea turtles either in Nipili cove or in the one just next door to the south. We rent a stand up paddle board from Snorkel Bob's next door for the week and the Mauian has a secure place to lock it nightly. You can grill on one of many located in the area around the pool. For a great breakfast go a few doors down to the Gazebo Restaurant for their famous macadamia nut pancakes, and, for a great cocktail hour go two doors north to Merrimans and try their delicious Filet mignon sliders and great view out on the deck.

We loved our stay at The Mauian The studios are comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated and situated on beautiful Napili Bay.There's no high rise nearby,no TV or entertainment..ideal for relaxing. The continental breakfast was adequate- juice, boiled eggs, breads ,fruit tea or coffee. The local bus stops 30 yards up the street and takes around 50.minutes to get to Lahaina.A car is really the best option for getting around.Wifi was good We had a studio downstairs which was great as you need to carry bags up to next level.stidios ( there's only 2 storeys). We could hear noise through the ceiling of people walking heavily upstairs. The pool is lovely with BBQs nearby. The beach is so close you can hear the waves at night.
