Honua Kai Resort is in a great location, but the unit didn’t quite measure up to our hopes. H408 had an odd, unpleasant odor that we reported to the management company (Maui Resort Rentals). We thought it was resolved, but it returned after airing out the unit. We just ended up trying to mask it with air fresheners. Shower had mold in grout areas. Had linen service scheduled in advance, and even after confirming the dates before our trip, they ended up mixing up the days on one of the services. Management was responsive to the mix up and did come up and take care of the linen service after we called that afternoon, which was appreciated. The accommodations just weren’t quite what we’re used to - think we’ll look to stay somewhere else next time we’re in Maui.
