We loved everything! It was the perfect place to stay, and the ocean view was stunning!

Checked in late after a long day of travels. The toilet in our room had an unknown dark substance inside. Maintenance promptly resolved the issue. The resort was lacking in restaurant choices and beach rental equipment. I had to walk to another resort to rent a boogie board for my children. The resort was very family oriented, other than the lack of ocean equipment. The pools were great, the staff was extremely service oriented and children’s/family activities were well advertised. There was only one sit down restaurant on property (not hotel owned.) The food and service were good; but, an additional option would have been great.

Excellent! It was nice to have free washer and dryer. And even detergent!

We arrived on Christmas Eve and were amazed at the view from our Garden Room. There were sweet gifts from the hotel. The pools are awesome. Everyone was very kind.

This was my first time in Hawaii. So I knew nothing about location or much about hotels except for what reviews I read. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Amazing pools and views. The rooms were large and spacious. It was 4 girls. So 2 had a room and the other 2 has the pull out sofa. What was great was the 2 bathrooms. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was so close to front street for shopping and restaurants. The beach however has a high tide so there is little beach you have to walk down a bit to get an actually area to set up to lay out.

We weren't there long, but liked it. Good location.

We stayed at Marriott's Ocean Club for about 10 days on vacation. Except that the building is old, everything else is good and comfortable. People in Hawaii are very nice, friendly, and accommodating, in general. At the Ocean Club, the room service each day includes fixing the bed with the existing sheets and changing towels and they don't replace the toiletries. Not a big deal, as long as you expect and plan for not having coffee the second day or soap, etc. I found out after we came back that you could get the same or similar room from timeshare owners cheaper on Craigslist, etc. Marriott offers you various rewards for attending their "no-pressure" pitch to buy a timeshare with them, which is a waste of time. The sales pitch is high-pressure but nicely packaged. By the way, the timeshares are not worth buying, as you can buy those in the secondary market for one fourth of the price. If your decide to participate, prepare yourself and may be you can cut the meeting short and enjoy the rest of the day! On the positive side, their swimming pool is the best in the area and kids love it. Food at Marriott's own outlets is expensive, but not good. There are some fantastic restaurants in town, though. The views from our room were absolutely gorgeous and we enjoyed the balcony. Overall, a great stay and we are going back.

Awesome resort with lot of pool activities for Kids of all ages... Highly proced, But its Marriott !! Could have been better if Break fast served for free and free car parking... Other than that the stay @ marriott was good experience . The Hospitality was very good. Only thing about the rooms is no privasy if you are going with kids...The sofa bed was very good. Only thing about the room is We could hear the sound from neighbour.. But once you are in deep sleep nothing is audible :-) Also, The maintanence or lawn crew in the morning start making lot of noises. So after 730 am you cannot sleep. And i was really not impressed with the Kanaapali beach. The beach is very small and most the places it had reef or corals. It good for snorkelling and for good swimmers. Sicne we are not swimmers we have to stay from the Beach. But the beach walk was fantastic... Very pleasant and really wonderful!!

Everything is as you would expect for 4-star resort in Maui.

Great hotel and great property - newly renovated rooms in the Molokai Tower and I loved having 2 balconies.

I chose this hotel primarily for the location on Kaanapali Beach, which is known to be Maui's best vacation beach spot. I thought their pool looked pretty nice from the pictures, and from what I had heard. The Hyatt pool next door was slightly better, and the waterslide was much better. There was nothing too horrible that happened on my stay, but I would still say that the hotel lacked that special something for the $250/ night we were shelling out. We went as a couple with no children. This might be a better place to go with kids? I am not sure. There are half a dozen other hotels on Kaanapali Beach. I also stated at the Hyatt next door and it was much nicer. It was also only $200/night and had a more "grown up" feel. Pros: --great location near sandy Kaanapali Beach --near Lahaina, black rock, snorkel beaches, etc -- Pool is pretty nice, probably in the top 10 on the island -the "Ocean View" that we got on our 8th floor room was pretty nice, but you definetly had to go out onto the Lanai to even see the ocean. Otherwise you were stuck staring at the Napili timeshare tower. Cons: -- they are cheap, and will nickel and dime you for everything. you get starter coffee. then its $2 per bag. what? c'mon people. not even a free continental hotel breakfast like the Holiday Inn? I think even Motel 6 offers some free bagels and coffee. -- parking was a pain AND they charged $8/ per day for it. it was literally a 5 minute walk plus two elevators to get to my room in the Molokai tower. i would not stay here again based on that fact alone. -- the grounds and exterior has a very 1980s/1970s dated feel. does not feel truly world class as it must once have. they are in the process of updating the room interiors, but the whole outside is just kinda dated and gross. Their breakfast place, the Beachwalk Market Pantry was actually a disgrace. You walk in and there is a Pizza Hut (how low class can you get?! that is some disgusting food) and this half-pizza hut was coupled with a terrible cafeteria-like restaurant that served just sub-par food. My wife and I were both really dissapointed that the Marriott would allow such a low grade operation on their property. Longboards Restaurant, like many on the beach was overpriced with average food. And by average, I mean like iHop quality food. But it had the $30/plate price. Compared to the rest of hte food on Maui, it was OK. That island is just not the place to go if you want to eat well on vacation. We really are not picky people and came to Hawaii for the beaches and outdoor activities, but paying so much for the Marriott, I was expecting to be swept off my feet. I wasn't. I think it would be worth it paying $125 a night and staying down the road!

The hotel had everything, kid projects, pools that went on forever, slides, great food (Longboards), shops, and snorkeling! Every member of the family want to make this an annual trip!

The "hotel" is actually a timeshare that you can rent rooms in. The facility and location are great....the furnishings, carpets etc. are dated and could use an upgrade. But I'd stay here again in an instant!...After all, we didn't spend much time in our room ever...just to sleep. Beach and Pool are awesome.

awesome swimming pool specially for my 21 month old grandson. Roof was spacious enough for the five of us. Service was great.

We had a great clean room in the Maui tower (not one of the new ones) with ocean view. The room was very spacious and accommodate a family of 4 perfectly.

We stayed here for our honeymoon at the end of June 2010 into early July. It's a nice looking place with beautiful landscaping and awesome pools. It's well kept and the staff is friendly. But, this place is not for couples! It's for families with lots of kids. Also, it's a time share, so that means no room service and except to get suckered into a two hour sales presentation. The free stuff for that is actually worth the waste in time. The other guests at the Marriot will also be a pain in your butt. Time share people are weird. The rooms in the original hotel are a little dated, but well kept and clean. The new tower rooms are amazing. Try to get one of those. If you're looking for a great place to take the kiddies, this is it. Everybody else, look elsewhere. Try Wailea, it's quiter and higher end.

Location is gorgeous and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Snorkeling at Black Rock is within walking distance. The pools are fabulous and we loved the water slide! Rooms are clean and roomy and we loved having the little kitchenette and being able to make some of our own meals. Staff is friendly and eager to help. The property is surrounded by lots of families and children so this is probably not ideal for honeymooners looking for a quiet, peaceful and romantic getaway. However, overall we had a great experience.

Went to Maui to relax for a few days. Rooms are large, great beds. But lots of kids there, so it's very noisy. Very limited food options, so be sure to plan ahead.
