We stayed there in room 849 for our babymoon recently and we were very disappointed. We originally had a resort view room but was upgraded because of the package we purchased. Our room was a partial ocean view room. It looked like it was remodeled within the last several years but there were elements to the room that were not updated. We could deal with that however we cannot deal with uncleanliness. We saw hair from the previous guests in the bathroom and on the pillowcase which always make us question what else is has not been cleaned. The biggest complaint we had was the noise. Even with all the doors and windows closed, you could hear the children outside playing as if the door was wide open and the noise went on past 8pm. The other noise you hear is the unit next to us and every time the left their unit, you could hear the door slam and any conversations they had because our bedroom was right by the entry door and there was a large gap under the door so you could hear everything. We were awaken every day to the people next door at 6am to the family leaving and talking. Then new guests checked in right before we left and voices and knocks started in the 4 o'clock hour. It was impossible to get sleep without being interrupted in the morning. Another complaint was the service in the restaurant while you are at the pool. Do NOT expect to be waited on if you are at the pool or rent a cabana and fast or friendly service. There was only 1 server the entire time (10 days) we were there that took care of us. I think his name was David, and older gentleman but very nice and accommodating. I was looking at the menu to order some food one day and waiting for David to come back to help take my order when a older blonde lady bartender pretty much told me I couldn't order off the main menu because it was happy hour and snatched the menu out of my hand before I could tell her that I couldn't eat anything off the happy hour menu because I have Celiac's disease. When David came back, he was able to take my order (from the menu that lady rudely took from me) and even delivered it to me at my chair by the pool. We were able to see that some units were updated nicely so if you are lucky enough to get one of the nicely updated rooms, then you might have a different experience than we had. We were not so lucky and our babymoon was not as relaxing and pampering as we had hoped for.

The biggest disappointment is the lack of care from the staff here. Everyone is grumpy and nobody cares. We booked a 2 bedroom suite which is advertised as having a king bed in one room and 2 twins in the other. Checked in and front desk confirmed the bed types at that time. Get to our room and there is no king bed. If you travel with young kids you know that a king bed is handy because you can put your kid in the middle, adults on outside and then they wont fall off the bed. Requested a roll away bed to fit the last person that would fit on the king and they tried to charge us $20/night for it. We said, "no, we need it because there is no king like we reserved" so they waived it. No apology. No offer of a meal credit for the restaurant, nothing. Strike one. We had reservation for 6 people and room only had 5 towels so had to call for more. Also had to call for more pillows (to block side of bed so our daughter wouldn't fall off the not-king size bed) and was told they only had 2 pillows left in the whole hotel. What? Seriously? Strike 2. Pool is advertised as salt water, it stinks of chlorine. It is nice, but they planted tall plants around the perimeter so there is no place you can sit and be able to see your kids the pool. Plus, there are no lifeguards. Strike 3. Dishwasher was broken and had nasty dirty water on the bottom. Told the front desk and they response was "ok". No apology, no "we'll send someone to fix it", so had to wash all dishes by hand. Strike 4. I think of all the staff we interacted with, I may have had 2 friendly interactions. Everything else was indifference and "that's not my problem" or "what do you want from us?" Attitude. Will never stay here again. Do not stay here! It looks nothing like the pictures.

was impressed with aston shores.i was worried the pictures would lie but they didnt. room was great having a full kitchen was wonderful. staff were friendly. grounds were well tended and pools were exactly what you needed on a hot hawaii day. it is a 6 min drive to lahaina which has all the shopping and excursions you could ever need. it is quiet and tucked away off the main highway. i always felt safe there. it us quiet and isnt like a mexico or caribbean resort where you have drunken idiots all over because of unlimited drinks.so it is definetly family friendly. never tried the restaurant because we used our rooms full kitchen. it was a great experience and i would go back again. the only thing i will say is the prices for everything is very high especially excursions so if you plan on doing lots go to lahaina and book from the people selling there dont go through expedia it is much cheaper buying from the excursion people themselves.

This is are 4th year in a row staying here, we keep coming back to it because the staff and grounds are excellent, the bar and restaurant are awsome, would highly recommended it. Both pools are very nice, one is for kids but can be used by both.

Our entire stay was amazing. Parking was easy and convenient. You don't have to walk a mile from the garage to the hotel. All the staff was efficient, friendly, and it's obvious that the employees enjoy being at work, which trickles down to guests having a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We dined at their Beach Club Restaurant and the food and service was great. We will return to Maui and definitely stay at Kaanapali Shores Hotel.

Nice rooms, the customer service is really good.. I little wait upon checking in though.. Resturant is excellent, great service and their food is fresh and well made.. The bar might need upgrading but good customer service there too. If I come back I will choose this hotel again.

Spending 8 nights here with good friends, we have a VRBO with 2 bedrooms/2 baths, all the comforts of home. I think there also hotel rooms here. The restaurant here is very good, 2 pools, elevators are very quick, plenty of parking (there is a charge), and a good sized grocery store across the road, within walking distance. Hope to come back here soon!👏

The condo we rented was great. Very comfortable living area with a large kitchen and an in-unit laundry helped us get caught up on laundry. The pool , restaurant and facilities were beautiful. The location was just a few miles from downtown old Lahania. The restaurant was vey good and was located so one could watch the sunset. The beach was a little rough with many hazards so the pool was nice to have.

I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite a couple of years ago and the suite was updated and very nice. The lobby is plain but that did not bother me. I booked a one-bedroom suite and it is very basic and dated. It feels and looks old. The bathroom really needs to be renovated. I would not stay here again based on this experience.

Resort is nice with sufficient accommodations. Grounds are well kept and pools are just the right size for the little ones. The rooms vary since each is independently own. We stayed in a single bedroom with a pull out sofa bed that was big enough for our family of 5 (kids aged 9, 7 & 5). It was convenient having a kitchen and washer/dryer combo. Our unit needed updating but as a place to sleep, it was enough. There are added fees for amenities that you may or may not use. Parking fees are also added daily. The restaurant is convenient but there are better and more reasonable options if you simply walk outside the resort. Excellent location for being close to restaurants, shops and Times supermarket.
