My family (with pets) and I stayed there for Hurricane Nate evac on 10/7/17. I must say first off that the service everyone gave, from the desk clerks (Cheryl & Tressie) to the General Manager (Tara) were of "Disney" caliber. From the booking of our reservation with Hanna, which was obviously last-minute due to the storm path, to our early departure day, which was allowed under the circumstances for us to return home after the storm, this staff was as much accommodating as any I've ever experienced in the hotel industry. We had a King Studio Suite on the first floor which we were allowed to check into earlier than normal because of our unexpected early arrival time. The room had one king bed, one sofa sleeper, and a kitchenette, which provided just enough room for my wife and I, three kids 10 and under, our three small dogs with one large dog crate, and our evac luggage. The room was very clean, and it was very nice and cool inside, as it was very hot and humid outside. The bed and pillows were really soft and comfortable, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. After a good night's sleep, the next morning we went down to the complimentary breakfast area and they had the normal, expected continental breakfast menu items (scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, white gravy, croissants, toast, cereal, instant grits, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, etc.). The food wasn't world class, but was what one would expect a small hotel continental breakfast to be. When learning that it was safe to return home that day, we were allowed to check out a day early, with no penalty fee whatsoever. We were even told that we had up until 4 pm to check out! I've never had that much time to check out of a hotel if I wanted to. So unbelievably accommodating! I would not hesitate to stay here again, should the need arise to do so. Even though we are a part of another hotel chain's rewards program, I would definitely go out of my way to stay here again based on the personal level of attention to our family needs, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of the entire hotel staff.
Just read another review and true, it's not a new property but it seems to kept up well and my room was nice, clean and comfortable. In a decent part of town as well, close to some restaurants (driving distance). I like the place and will probably be back.
The personnel were nice, cordial and accommodating however, this Residence Inn is run-down and unkept. The rooms we had (two bedroom suite) were very small and not attractive. The breakfast included stale, hard cinnamon rolls and croissants Would not go back
2 bedroom suite on top floor. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable. Air conditioning, did not come on during the night, resulting in both rooms being warmer than the living room. Pool was great
For all of those frequent travelers out there, you know that sometimes a Residence Inn can be hit or miss. This is my fourth stay at the Residence Inn in Lafayette. The hotel is relatively new, and the interior is clean and well lit. For the most part, it is convenient to just about anything you need if you have a vehicle. It is within walking distance of half a dozen places to eat. I will certainly be back in the future.
This Residence Inn had a nice Social in the evenings, it looked liked many guest missed out by not attending, the food was great and had taste of Louisiana. The staff was friendly, welcoming and caring.
The staff was some of the friendliest I've ever met. The were very warm and welcoming. We checked in just in time for the evening gathering. We were treated to a couple of drinks and what became or dinner. Cajun sausage sliders...yummy! The room was very clean, spacious and super quite. I really enjoyed the fact the hotel was away from all of the highway noise. Slept like a baby. I highly recommend you try this hotel. All the food and shopping you can handle are within a short drive.
Great hotel for the business traveler. Was there for a few days and have nothing but good things to say about the facilities and staff. The rooms were nice sized and easy to relax in. The staff were friendly and courteous.
I am generally very critical of hotels since I am a Marriott member and dropped Hilton based on previous stays in several Hilton properties. I requested early check-in and my room was ready when I arrived, the receptionist was very accommodating, informative and pleasant to deal with when we arrived. The room was clean (we checked) and very close to the Cajun Dome, and main attractions. I recommend this hotel.
I've stayed at Residence Inn several times in the past and plan on staying there several times in the future. From each time I've arrived the staff under Jorde's leadership has been outstanding. Always polite and helpful with whatever my circumstances may be. I have come to appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms the space they provide and amenities provided. The location is ideal for business travel to the area and the shuttle service is quite helpful and always efficient. The hotel staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome with their social events and breakfasts. I highly recommend Residence Inn to any of my colleagues or any future travelers who may be traveling to Lafayette,LA or it's surrounding area. I cannot say enough about the staff and rate them high enough. Sincerely, John Veremey
