NOT TOWN CENTRE BUT PEACEFUL AND VALUE FOR MONEY
It is a good way from the harbour and main street of Labuan. But it is down a very quiet road. So it is very peaceful and relaxing. The town is easy to get to in 10 minutes by taxi or any of the many motorbike guys who are always available on the main road. 10 to 20k rupiah fare. Maybe more coming back from town later in the evening. But at 16,500k rupiah to £1 I can't complain.
The main road is 2 mins walk from hotel and there are atm's and 2 supermarkets one of which is 24 hours....very useful for a late night beer drinker like me !!!
Veronica and her husband are lovely and my tour of Rinca Island was organised by Veronica as soon as I had checked in. It was for the next day at 7am. Perfect as I had only booked for 2 nights in Labuan.
BTW the boat trip and tour were magical. 5 Komodo dragons eating a water buffalo and then 2 stops for snorkelling. Veronica lent me the mask, flippers etc free.
Remember you pay for the boat trip to the hotel. But you must take cash to the Island to pay the Komodo National Park entrance fee. This is perfectly normal procedure.
Veronica's very nice family and friends looked after me especially a young guy who drove me to the atm's and into town for the early morning start of the tour.

Hotel en construcción:engaño, nula profesionalidad
Habíamos reservado y pagado una noche en este hotel hacia 2 meses. Cuando llegamos nos dicen que esta todo completo, y nos quieren ofrecer una habitación en otro hotel de calidad inferior. Al protestar y no aceptar estas condiciones, no comentan de otro hotel de calidad equivalente al Cahaya prometiéndonos que tiene lavabo interior. Al llegar al mismo hotel, comprobamos que el lavabo no es interior en un lugar como Labuan Bajo con riesgo de malaria. Al volver a protestar a la propietaria, exigiéndole la devolución, conseguimos que nos alojen en otro hotel en la ciudad. Pero no nos paga el taxi al aeropuerto, que estaba incluido en el precio, ni el taxi que utilizamos para llegar al Cahaya. Por lo que vimos el hotel Cahaya estaba a medio construir, asi que olvidaros de reservar este hotel porque dormiréis en otro. Debido a esta incidencia perdimos toda la tarde.
