Careful walking out that door
First the good news: The property was clean inside. The bed was comfortable. The property is located about as far out as development goes, so it takes a fair amount of time to get around (we were there to look at real estate). The neighborhood was unearthly quiet. Now the bad news: 1) My husband and I both fell at different times walking from inside the house to inside the garage. The step from the house into the garage is a bigger drop that you expect (which I presume means it does not conform to the building code), such that we were thrown off balance. Added to that is a bad fix - a rectangular "step" about 4 inches tall has been added inside the garage, but the landing is smaller than a normal stride so it is likely that a person's heel will get caught on the "step" guaranteeing a fall. My husband and I are in our 70's. The owner is lucky we didn't break anything. I notified the property manager of this issue and asked that they provide me photographs of what has been done to warn other renters and to fix the problem. I did not receive a response. 2) The outside patio furniture cushions were covered with dust, making sitting outside in the beautiful morning unpleasant; and 3) The drapes are serviceable but not easily maneuvered. The PVC pipe holding the sheer up in the bedroom fell down when I tried to open it, and both drapes fell down in the dining area when I tried to open them. There was no ladder on the property to allow me to restore privacy.
