Staff was lovely. Grounds were lovely. We had a superior suite which was extremely large with a huge deck overlooking the marina (even though I had asked for a sea view it was very pleasant). However, we were there for 6 days with the water never getting more than barely luke warm. The shower was an open or wet room concept and water went everywhere, almost into the living room. At one point we couldn't get into our room because the batteries in the key lock died. Lots of other little stuff. Beds were very comfortable and the marina itself had several very good restaurants. The hotel had a shuttle to town and back which was great. The food for the breakfast buffet was barely passable. Dinner at Steinbecks was very good but unfortunately very limited. We are not beef eaters which made even more difficult. The pool was too chilly to swim as it is only heated by the sun and it was rather cool when we got there.

My wife and I recently returned from a tour of the lower Baja including San Jose, San Lucas, La Paz and Todos Santos. We stayed four nights at Costa Baja on the recommendation of a friend. It is located approximately 8 kms north of downtown La Paz and is part of a master planned community of sorts with a marina and related services as well as a golf course. Staff was very friendly and there is a great beach in front of the resort which was largely deserted when we were there (could it be the "Beware of Stingrays" sign?). While we could have relaxed at the resort the whole time, we treated it more as a hub for attractions in the area. There is a free shuttle that takes you to downtown La Paz and back several times a day. We took the shuttle down one morning and made the most of what La Paz had to offer (including the impressive whale museum) and then walked back. Another day we took our rental car up 20 kms to have lunch at El Tecolote Beach and then over to Balandra Beach for the afternoon. Not to be missed. Aside from room service at CostaBaja which was great, we also ate at Steinbeck's which is part of the resort and at a nice Italian restaurant which was part of the marina. Our stay was completely different than the more fast-paced world of Los Cabos and offered great price/quality. Gracias CostaBaja!

Highly recommend-Excellent staff, food fantastic, everything great.-We are two nurses from Montana. Restaurants are unbelievable-great prices. Clean everything. La Paz area -also very nice, clean, police present noted and appreciated. Would go back

We just returned from a 10 day stay at CostaBaja. The staff at the front desk, valet staff & cleaning staff where probably the best in any resort we have stayed at! The room was very nicely decorated & very comfortable. The pool was clean but a bit cold, keeping in mind it is winter there nothing I wouldn’t expect. That’s the good part, upon arriving we got settled into our room & decided to just take it easy & have supper at the resort. Steinbeck is there in house resturant that was recommended, don’t do it, the prices were ridiculous & the food was probably the worst we have ever had the misfortune to order. We ate at the breakfast buffet once & it wasn’t much better, over priced & not a very good selection with mediocre quality. If you stay here rent a car, most everything is about 5 kilometres away down town, including some incredible restaurants. I would give the resort 5 stars & the restaurants 2 if I was feeling generous.

After a few visits to Costa Baja, my lovely fiancee (at the time) and I decided to have our wedding there. We were already in love with La Paz and Costa Baja so we knew this was a perfect destination location. Our expectations were beyond met! The beach front ceremony and sunset reception, up at the golf club, made for an unforgettable experience. We had 95 guests at our wedding and everyone had a very good time. The setting, the service, the fireworks, the decor, the food were all amazing. The hotel even let us buy our own liquor, beer and wine so we could save money. General Manager Eduardo and his wedding planning staff were always available and helpful in putting together this fantastic experience. Costa Baja was not only an amazing location for a destination wedding but the value really made it such an opportunity for us to throw our dream wedding. La Paz all day for a wedding.....

Wonderful resort, very friendly, fantastic grounds and service. Nice shuttle to LaPaz. The only problems we had were that the pool was too cold to swim in and the beds were very hard. Otherwise, really wonderful room. Very nice shower, tv, bathrobes, soap and amenities. We are at both restaurants on site and they were both very good.

First I will admit I am not the resort type but my teenage daughter wanted some pool time at a more upscale facility. We got a good price on the room and it was nice and clean, though a bit bland decor with the strange design of a shower in the middle of the room. What bothered me is the hotel was practically empty but they still put us in the least desirable room with a balcony view of the driveway. The hotel pool is nice but it was chilly out and it doesn't have a jacuzzi. You have to go to the beach club to experience the jacuzzi as well as the infinity pool seen in advertising, which costs an additional $15/day. Considering how empty the resort was, I would expect them to be more giving with beach club passes and room upgrades to satisfy the few onsite, but none were forthcoming. The staff however were very nice, lending us a cooler for the beach and helping book our tour. I think management needs to give them power to make adjustments to ensure a fully-satisfied clientele - I didn't complain to the staff but they should be enabled and proactive with delivering best experience possible.

I trailered my Boston Whaler down to Baja and stayed for five nights at Hyatt Place which is next to CostaBaja. I was delighted to find the marina's office and boat ramp was right next door. They let me "dry storage" my boat and SUV there and were so incredibly helpful in every way. The service was amazing and it was so great to be able to launch my boat from there to go and explore Isla Espiritu and the beaches around La Paz!

Nice quiet place, great beds, great housekeeping (twice a day) and staff. Love beach club but not the price to use when staying at hotel for a week. Need a dance club at least once a week or other entertainment at night.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, we had a great time The breakfast buffet was great!! The restaurants in the Hotel were really good and the Sushi place in the Marina was excellent. The only thing missing is that they should have kayaks or SUP for rent at the beach club
