We came for a quiet time and relaxing, and got a whole lot more. The food was delicious the owners treated us like family members and kindly helped us to set a few adventure trips like kayaking and trail walks through hanging bridges. A most visit place 😉.
There are many great reasons to stay here: -it is a quiet place surrounded by lovely gardens where you can wander around, with lots of birds and flowers -the breakfasts are very filling and delicious -the property is close to many attractions -the owners are super nice people who are very willing to help with any information -we stayed in a small cabin which was reasonably priced and suited our needs -the pool is a decent size and well kept -it is an easy drive into town or other locations for dinner -everthing is very clean
New friendly local Tico owners with extensive knowledge of the area. Quiet. Beatiful natural setting in rural area 3 minutes from town. Song birds everywhere. Rooms are simple and clean and beds are good. Great breakfast. Just what we wanted...
Stayed there for one night but would have gladly stayed longer !!! It is charming, eclectic, and so pretty with all the trees and birds. The room I stayed in was comfortable, the bathroom was a little funky, but clean and had hot water. There is a pool and dining area. It is family owned and they are such nice people. They have had the property for 35 years and planted trees, flowers and have created a little oasis.
We stayed here two nights. The room was of a good size, comfortable beds. Bathroom nice size with quick hot water. the rooms/cabins are located in a really nice garden. It also has a swimming pool. If the weahter is ok you can see the Arenal vulcano from the grounds. We had a nice bench in front of our room and with some other chairs it was a really place to relax and chat with fellow travellers and have a drink. Breakfast was good. Staff and family friendly and helpfull. The helped us also with our laundry.
We rented a family cabin in March 16, comfortable enough, A/C, very nice breakfast area, pool. Good fit for budget. Taxi to La Fortuna takes $5. Beautiful farm like setting, quiet. Good Wi-Fi in breakfast area. Alan and Suzanna are the couple managing the property, very nice, warm people. Extremely helpful. They'll call cab for you, arrange tours for you. We walked to La Fortuna waterfalls from here, 3 kilometers. I liked it so much, that next morning I jogged all the way to the falls and back, with a stop at a "soda" near the falls with chilled beer and a delicious chicken wrap.
We stayed 2 days in Faro Arenal, just the time to visit the volcano area, walk in the easy trail.... Faro Arenal is perfect location, cabanas are very clean, beds comfortable, great breakfast (you have to try the tipical breakfast!!!!). But the best in our stay is: the staff!!! Family owner is very very friendly, always smiling, and with many attention!! Thank you very much for your welcoming!
Located out-of-town in a garden-like setting, Faro Arenal is a little bit of heaven. The rooms are clean with plenty of hot water. The beds are a bit lumpy. Breakfast is cooked to order. Arenal volcano is within sight. It's better to have a car here.
My wife and I stayed at Faro Arenal for a few nights. Very nice and responsible people working there, they spoke english that helped a lot. Accomodations might be called rustic but they all have separate bathrooms and electricity/tv. WiFi works only close to restaurant area, restaurant itself is quite good and clean. We took advantage of their pool also. the reasons I did not put five stars is that hot water is just warm in the shower and cabins separated by only a thin wall, so you could enjoy hearing neighbor's kids, etc. They do have separate cabins also, so I would recommend renting those instead
We had planned on staying at another ecolodge close by, but due to my mix up on dates, could not. Faro had space, and it ended up working out fine. It was rainy much of the time we were here, but I did manage to use the pool still - it's in a beautiful setting surrounded by tropical trees and plants, and in the shadow of the volcano (most of which was unfortunately covered in the clouds). Rooms were basic, cabin-style, some with beds for 4 people. They had TV and air-conditioning, and bathrooms were large. We only used the restaurant for the included breakfast which was basic Costa Rican fare. The restaurant staff was very nice, friendly and polite. As they also worked as guides at a local nature preserve, they were knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. One of the highlights - the last morning outside our room we saw parrots and toucans in the trees - such a treat.
