Hotel El Silencio is wonderful! I have stayed here 2x when visiting Costa Rica. The staff is so nice and accommodating. The property is so serene and the animals at their farm are so much fun to check out. I recommend getting up early to go help with the farm animals, it's a fun experience. The food was delicious. The hot springs, pools and thermal spas are scattered throughout the property. This place offers a beautiful setting to disconnect and take in the surrounding nature. With amazing views of Arenal Volcano, it's a must stay.

It's a pretty interesting property 1 large geothermal pool and 2 small ones. The grounds are kept very clean, I would say it's pristine compared to La Fortuna and they have their own farm that supplies milk, eggs and vegetables.

Almost perfect

We stayed six nights during the start of the rainy season when there are less visitors and the rain came predictably for short periods of time. We chose this property because it gave us easy access to hot springs for guests only. There were no more than three other guests in a hot spring with us, but most of the time, we had a hot spring pool to ourselves. Our bungalow was spacious. Housekeeping came everyday and did a thorough job. I liked the very firm bed. My travel partner prefers her bed less firm. The lighting in the room could be improved (too dark). There is no full length mirror. The farm animals were a good distraction for one morning.There's a sloth that stays in a tree near the farm area. The restaurant and the bar were convenient with passable food. The included breakfast didn't have the amount of variety of a breakfast buffet, but it had just enough variety for us. The hot food is cooked to order. I found breakfast to have better quality than most breakfast buffets. The biggest downside of the hotel was that it did not have a gym. There might be space for a tiny one? Hiking in the area is too easy for me to be considered a workout. There is enough room in the bungalow for yoga and resistance bands in our bungalow, but the lack of a gym might be the only reason I would not stay at the hotel again. We chose to book a couple of day tours directly instead of using the hotel which worked out quite well both for experience and our wallets.

I loved my stay! It’s just as the description. Staff were very friendly and tentative. The food was amazing and they treat wildlife with care. The hot springs were therapeutic. The entire hotel is kept clean at all times. I would recommend this villa especially if it’s your first time traveling to Costa Rica.

Perfect in every way

I moved my iteneraey around to be able to stay here and I'm so glad I did. The location is excellent, just outside the main town and the hot springs within the hotel meant we didn't have to go anywhere else for hot springs. Main attractions were all no more than 15 mins away. The staff was friendly, the farm was awesome and the whole stay was perfect. Don't hesitate to book this hotel, you won't regret it, we didn't want to leave!

Wonderful property that offers amazing amenities. Beautiful rooms all private, quiet bungalows. Cute is an understatement. We loved the sloths, peacocks, pig, goats, horses, organic garden, chickens and soooo much more. There are 3 hot springs. Breakfast is FANTASTIC and by menu. Try the typical - it’s delicious. We would stay here again.

At first I was a little worried given there is 1 restaurant on property and my family are picky eaters and used to options… but they have plenty of options in this 1 restaurant and the food is terrific!

From the time we got there, we felt rifht at home & safe. I was greeted at the front desk, the gentleman already knew my name. We had welcome drinks delivered to us seconds later. The place was amazingly clean. The hot springs are beautiful, we had them to ourselves most of the time. Highly recommend!

This hotel is a little gem. The staff is so kind, and welcoming! The rooms are spacious and clean. My kids were able to milk a cow, play in multiple hot springs, and enjoy a free breakfast that they loved. The grounds are so well kept, and the views of the volcano are amazing.

It was nice getting our breath taken away every morning, looking at the view and early sunrise. The hot springs were also wonderful, and providing us surprises on the way to them. Such as animals and other creatures crossing our path. Having access to the farm animals also was great with the opportunities that were also waiting for us there, although time constraints led us not able to try them all out. The biggest con had to be the staff, as they were simply to kind-hearted and sweet. Thank you for wonderful memories

We stayed two nights. Location was good for things we did in La Fortuna area. The property was very nice and well maintained. The farm animals were a great addition and fun to visit with. The hot spring pools were fantastic and the main reason we booked here. The restaurant was good, we ate all meals there. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.
