The location is pretty good and the grounds have a beautiful garden. Breakfast was good with unlimited coffee (other places in Costa Rica provide seconds only on demand). They also have a bird feeder plank right next to the breakfast space, so we got a songbird show every morning.
Staff was super-friendly, and cleaners did their best keeping the room clean.
We got one of the more run-down rooms, looked somewhat worse than in the pictures. The climate being super-humid and not very hot, the room felt musty. There was AC which we thought might help dry the air out, but its air coming out of it was musty as well. Lastly, most of the time the hot water in the shower was not quite hot. Fortunately the weather was very mild (and rainy much of the time!), so we could just keep windows open at night and it was fine.
To their credit, they recalculated the price downward on their own, because apparently we were charged the rate of a higher-class room.
