Overall, we had a nice stay. The home is in a development of what look like vacation homes a mile or so outside of town. Although the development is gated, the guard wasn’t present several times and we had to open the UNLOCKED gate ourselves (not exactly secure).The home is spacious; most of the rooms are good sized. The primary bedroom on the second floor has a very nice, big balcony that looks out on the volcano; we spent a couple mornings there drinking coffee. A couple of downsides to the interior: the living room area is very small and the only furniture in it is a small, uncomfortable couch. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. Overall, the interior was a bit worn and not the cleanest. The yard was huge, with two sitting areas, a nice size pool and a very nice hot tub.Our major complaints about the home: The washer and dryer that are listed in the VRBO description were not available. When we messaged the host, he said the were locked in a room because they were not ready. Also, our host was very non-communicative. He did not provide check-in instructions prior to arrival; we actually had to message him a couple of times until he finally responded. He was extremely slow to respond to messages during our stay. And again provided no check-out instructions until after we’d messaged him a couple of times.
