I had ended my "Camino" and this was the only option I found. The hotel is small and occupies just one floor of a big bulding. It has nothing special, but the staff was friendly and the place was clean. The room had two separate beds and enough space for this kind of hotel. The only drawback i saw was the eat inside the bathroom, as the windows was facing south, had not curtains or shutters, and with the sun hitting directly on it, one could not be inside the bathroom for long.
Lovely little place. Great location, nice sized, clean rooms. Great breakfast and a warm welcome. Staff are first rate. Thy were all excellent with our 2yr old. Would definitely stay again. Perfect location for the town and train station.
The staff were nice, even though they barely knew any English. But we had a really big disappointment with the rooms, as they were extremely damp. All our clothes got damp and extremely smelly, all the bedding felt wet and cold. We left the window a little bit opened when we left in the morning so we can get rid of the horrible smell (seeing that the hotel was on the 6th floor) and when we came back the window was closed and the blinds were closed as well. Absolutely no ventilation. Very disappointing!!
Hotel Rey Fernando Santiago de Compostela has 2 stars, but it is better than a 3 star Paris..locatie area, near the railway station , at 100 meters there is a shop ,, 24 hours ,, with everything you need .. and across the street recommend Cerveseria Estudianres tourists ,, ,, where the ditch low prices and can eat and is very aamabil.Hotelul bine.Personalul hotel is located close to the historic ... recommend this hotel for 2-3 nights , the price is acceptable
Chose this Hotel for its location, price and parking for a motorcycle. Pretty much central for all the sights. Hosts were absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful regarding getting the bike put away and giving directions for sights etc. Hotel was very nice, quiet at night and looked pretty modern inside. room was a good size, very clean and tidy and as we were expecting. Breakfast was ok, standard spanish affair. My wife left some stuff behind when we left and they got it posted off to us at a hotel that we were staying at later in the trip, very helpfull indeed.
Hotel is located on the 6th floor in between the small streets close to the main road. It could be difficult to locate if you are travelling by car as you could end up driving around the one way streets once you missed a turn. Room is a old but spacious and clean. Good WIFI connection equipped with a small tv. Bathroom was very clean with strong water pressure shower. For EUR 34 a night, it was an extremely good deal for a rest after a long day in the city. About 20 minutes walk to the main square and basilica.
We had a decent stay of a night at Rey Fernando. The staff helped with printing our boarding passes which made it convenient for us. The room and the adjoining bathroom was clean. I would not say its really centrally located coz it is at some distance from the cathedral. However, the train station is close by. The bus stop where we get buses to the airport is also close-by. Unfortunately, the bus did not arrive on time and hence had to take a taxi. A taxi to the airport costs about euros 25. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby.
Stayed after doing El Camino for 2 nights! Clean rooms were very much appreciated. Kind staff, who were ready to help by printing boarding pass, providing info re- car renting service, etc. 10 minutes walking from historic centre of Santiago; cafe bar and supermarket nearby useful.
Clean, nice staff, bathroom with amenities, TV + WIFI internet - so what do you really need for 50 euro/night? :) So overall I'm happy considering the money I paid. BUT, please do something about the breakfast selection - the breakfast consists of a place of croissant + loaf of bread :) with a side of butter or jam - THIS IS IT! Oh yes, it's walking distance from the main train station, so no need for a taxi!
Oh my god, what an exprience. We did the camino de santiago after which we decided to stay in a hotel to relax and pamper ourselves a little bit. But this hotel was an opposite of any kind of pampering. Staff was super-unfriendly (not even a single smile, but instead grumpy, arrogant faces), room stinked and was dirty. There was mold on the window sides and the view was horrible. Also the location at the 6th floor of the block of flats did not quite serve for the hotel's good. Ultimate rate-dropper was the breakfast which costs 4 euros. There was 1 croissant and 1 what bun waiting for each customer at the bar in the morning along with butter and marmalade. Plus bad coffee and orange juice. I cannot recommend this place to anyone !
