Clean and modern building exterior but old furnished on the interior. The lift was small and old, out of 2 small lift, 1 was malfunctioning. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The room is normal and the breakfast selection was very limited. Handful of local restaurant nearby. Overall a decent place for short stay.
A regular visitor to this hotel, I enjoy the spacious cafeteria area with its floor to ceiling views, the large rooms and suites and the service. Breakfast needs a little improvement as, in order to get any hot food, you will need to prompt the staff as they occasionally appear. Vegans are not really well catered for but plenty of fresh fruit. The cafe menu choice in the evening could be expanded a little. Drinks are generous and service good. Rooms are clean and airy - access to more tv channels would be good but a minor point. Wifi can be sporadic.
Very nice hotel well oriented either for business or for pleasure everything is at walking distance. I had enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was full of very delicious choices. I didn't had the opportunity to taste hotels restaurant. It will be one of my first choices at the area.
The hotel is located in centre of the city and is surrounded by many good restaurants at walking distance. The rooms have had an upgrade, but for some (not Spanish) guests it has turned out as a downgrade: No more English speaking news channel(s). Having said this, it is an upgrade if you are a movie fan: foreign movies can be changed to their original audio by a few clicks on your zapper. If you want to use the hotel WiFi, you will be disappointed, it has been downgraded to the slowest network ever, it used to be good in the past. Why it has been made slower remains a mystery to me. Breakfast buffet has a wide choice for all. Warm food on order, included in the breakfast fee.
Rooms are clean and with big beds, the bathroom is also big although is old. My opinion is the the hotel needs a renovation in order to be more modern. The typical Spanish Breakfast that offered is nothing spcial. The location is really quite central in Ferrol and you can go anywhere on foot.
If you staying for one night it is fine, in a good location, did not booked breakfast as there are lots of lively places close by to get value for money. I thought it to be very good value and the staff were very friendly and helpful . Décor is not to everybody's taste, it was comfortable and clean.
Rooms are clean and sizeable. Breakfast is buffet style with eggs etc cooked if required. Not a huge selection but plenty nevertheless. Wifi drops off and is a pain to log in if you are trying to come and go as have to keep logging in to get work done. Angie in the cafeteria cannot be more willing to keep guests happy. She brings generous proportions of drinks and lovely Tapas.
Visited in brilliant weather in June 2015. The hotel Is well located within a few minutes walk of the railway station and not much further from the bus terminal. Some reviewers have said the Carris Almirante is dated but the atmosphere is part of the charm. My room had a separate lounge area and a large bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and a British style hot dish of bacon and eggs was offered and served promptly. Several good restaurants and bars are close by. On the second evening of my two night stay I chose the hotel cafeteria where I enjoyed the set menu including a draught beer. The reception staff have an adequate knowledge of English. The one area that could be improved was the wifi. Service in the room was intermittent. It took a long time to log in and the connection dropped out regularly. Coverage was a little better in the lobby area but still only average. What attracted me to the area was the metre gauge FEVE train to Oviedo. The Carris Almirante makes a perfect stop either before or after the train trip.
Stayed here a few days ago - it was selected at random from a late rooms site - its an OK hotel - nothing to write home about - a typical 3/4 start city centre hotel. No real facilities to write home about - rooms OK - breakfast - typical Spanish Breakfast again nothing spcial. Location, pretty much central not too far away from decent bars and restaraunts - has its own 'Cafe' but its pretty much a 'low rent' affair. Rooms small'ish but clean and OK - room decor very much in the 'IKEA MOULD' Would I stay there again, yes if I could not find a better hotel OK value for money
I spent a couple of night at hotel almirante. My room was quite confortable, with a large bathroom. Furniture is a little outdated; a small table for wrinting would have been of help. A good fresh breakfast is served. The staff is very helpful.
