The hotel rooms are clean, small and the hotel staff are relatively friendly. The restaurant staff not so much. In general the hotel is nicely located to the city center. Why I rated the hotel lower was due to the restaurant breakfast and dinner buffet which is just so-so.
We were not scheduled to stay here, but our hotel had some issues and we were diverted. Miraculously, thanks to Camino Ways, our luggage was there. Location was great!. Right at the transition from old town to new town. Just 15-minutes walk from the Cathedral. Room was spacious and comfortable, modern bath. Staff were helpful, able to keep our luggage as we had a late-day fight. Breakfast and lounge areas on site. Food was just ok.
This hotel is right in the middle of the action -- at the transition between the tourist zone (old city center) and the real city with shops etc. easy walking to everything. Staff was friendly and helpful; breakfast OK. A/C worked. Room was fairly large. Only problem is that people with mobility issues will have to navigate 5 stairs from lobby to elevator.
This hotel offers the all around, good deal. It has a great location and the rooms are sold at a competetive price. On is able to walk to all the sights and restaurants with a near by parking garage which is very well priced. The staff could not be more accomodating in terms of baggage storage, directions or advice.
THE Hotel receptionist a bald guy (like me) was so helpful .Every restaurant he he told us to go to was great .He was so helpful. The Beds were soft and nice .The breakfast was good and overall it was a great Hotel. Nice bar downstairs.
We stayed pre and post camino hike and they let us leave bags there meanwhile. Everything works, good size rooms some with balcony overlooking plaza. Staff attentive and English speaking. Central to everything, good wifi. Breakfast sufficient. No real faults I can find.
The hotel was location was excellent, close to the old town and only about 5-10 minutes walk to the cathedral but also in the other direction you are right next to the modern town where all the shops are. As this is centrally location there will be some outside noise, we were located on the 3rd floor in a standard room away from the main street, not the best view but was quieter apart from noise of a kitchen close by getting ready for breakfast (plates being stacked etc). The staff were excellent and reassuring especially when we arrived after midnight with flight delays, they assured that our room was safe when we called and advised of the delays. Shame that there was no bar, sometimes after a busy day, sitting in the hotel bar is nice even if you are so close to bars and restaurants outside. The rooms are very modern and the breakfast offered a great selection.
Welcomed by a lovely receptionist from London. Our room was large with two single beds together, sofa, fridge, mini bar, safe and television. The bathroom was also large with a vanity unit and mirror, shower, toilet and bidet. There is parking in a nearby underground carpark. Cost is 13Euros. Delicious buffet breakfast : cereals, yoghurt, slices of fresh fruit, cheese, cold meats, bread, rolls, croissants, cakes, bacon and eggs, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit juice, conserves, tea/coffee. Hotel is close to the Cathedral, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. :
I arrived very tired after a long 5 hour train journey and I was so delighted with the welcome I received as I walked into this lovely hotel. The Receptionist was so friendly and helpful and not only did she offer me a map of this glorious city, but even showed me points of interest and where the hotel is located on the map. She was the best Receptionist I have encountered so far since my arrival in Spain, and this is my ninth hotel! Another lovely lady brought my luggage to my room, which overlooks the streets and is an absolutely delightful room. It's location is perfect for visiting the Cathedral as well as many cafe's, bars and little shops selling a variety of goods and parks in which to sit and relax. A safe is available as is a bar fridge, spacious wardrobe, a comfortable arm chair and somewhere to put your luggage. Everything about this room and hotel is a 10/10! I only wish I could stay longer!
We stayed here for three nights and four days. The hotel is clean. The staff are accomodating. I fell in love with Santiago De Compostela and my stay in Hotel Compostela added to it. It is walking distance to the Cathedral and to the many historical places in Santiago not to mention the many cafes, bars and restaurant near the hotel. I strongly recommend this hotel to the many travellers.
