Very nice hotel located close to railway station and city center. The tramway stop is near the hotel which is very convenient to visit the city. The hotel is modern and confortable. We had huge rooms on top of the building overlooking the river which were clear, confortable and feel like home. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast there. It was well-stocked and hearty. Crowne Plaza Kumamoto was an excellent stop during our trip. Definitely, it is an excellent option to stay in Kumamoto
The room is quite modern and comfort. They have also provided various types of pillow, including side pillow! Air con and other facilities are working well but the light is quite dim. I prefer to open the curtain. Water pressure is strong. Breakfast, mostly japanese style, is pretty good. Only local TV and Video On Demand are available. Several electric outlets are available.
Me and my husband stayed here twice when we visited my in-laws in Kumamoto. I liked that it had enough parking slots beside the hotel, and I do appreciate that they have a fixed parking price for guests since parking can be quite expensive in Japan. Our room was nice and spacious, compared to the typical hotel rooms in Japan. Our window was facing the river, and it gave us a nice view of the bridge and the river. Staying in the room is relaxing and comfortable. I particularly like the relaxation amenities that come with the hotel (eye mask, aromatherapy etc). We had brunch at Suncielo, and I liked the ambience of the restaurant. There was enough food choices, and even an ice cream section as well. We also stayed at Felice for drinks one evening, and it was a relaxing place to just lounge after a long day traveling. Me and my husband like staying here, and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Kumamoto.
I did enjoy my stay at this hotel and even more the Kumamon characterized shuttle with outstanding service. Nice view from the comfortable bedroom with fantastic Crowne Plaza sleeping amenities. Very good restaurants and lovely Kumamon cake. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable.
Very good and comfortable hotel to stay in Kumamoto but a little bit out of town where you have to walk about 300 m to the Tram station and take the extra 4 stations to be in town. Definitely nothing to see around the Hotel
Having stayed here the first time I was very positively surprised about the language skills and friendliness of the reception staff. The room is clean and for Japanese hotel standards providing sufficient space. The bathroom however it's just business hotel level. I would rate this hotel 4* or superior business hotel. As this is a non-smoking hotel, the guests smoke directly at the entrance even though there is a smoking area 5 meters away. For non smokers very disturbing. They location might be remote for people traveling without own car.
Travel dates are in November. Because the room is central air conditioning. November has been heated. It make me can't breathe. There is no way to call the front desk. And they just can give me a fan use on that night. Transportation is the city electricity to get off after 5 to 10 minutes. There is no shop nearby.
I had no problem with the location as I simply put in the phone number onto my rental car GPS and it's not difficult to find. Hotel has a indoor parking garage for 1000yen per day. Check in was quick, staffs were friendly and polite. The room size was good and clean. Bed was good, and quiet. I put in birthday trip on my booking remark, and I received a box of cookie and a birthday note inside the room prepared for me. It was a very lovely gesture.
We stayed in the standard room with Twin bed for 2 nights. The room and toilet were clean and well maintained. My child was also given a welcome pack for his stay. I love the view from our room which faced the river and the city where we would enjoy sunrises and sunsets. The regular shuttle service (with Kumamon logo) between Kumamoto Shinkansen station and the hotel enhances the convenience of this hotel with our frequent travels on JR trains. What I felt could be improved was the hospitality and little information on travels around Kumamoto.
We stayed this hotel for holidays 4 nights. They gave us a free baby cod. The room size wasn't so big(it wasn't problem for us) but the view from the room was quiet nice. Clean and quiet. But we didn't like bathroom because we paid about 120 euro per night but it was so old style so small. Look like cheap business-hotel class. We really didn't enjoy it. The breakfast was good. The breakfast was free so they gave us some tickets to give at the restaurant entrance but If we dont wake up and lose the breakfast, we could use this tickets for lunch also! We enjoyed the food.
